Inspired by the Lipstick Queen are crap thread, I've got things I need to get off my chest (so to speak).

Nude lipstick, can't bear it. Hate, hate the 'foundation coloured lips' look.

There are others but that is my most loathed thing at the moment.

Do other people have things that the whole world seems to love but them?

It'll be black bootleg trousers next :( weeps

RadioSplash · 27/04/2015 20:25

Ankle boots and skirts.
Leggings with arses showing.
Wedge trainers.
White finger nails.

Mintyy · 27/04/2015 20:25

Also (forgot) fiddled-around-with faces like Amanda Holden, Michelle Collins, Kylie, Renee.

And breast implants.

Was watching an early episode of Frasier yesterday and was struck by the fact that the actress playing Daphne had a small and natural looking bosom (as you would expect on a very slim woman). I really think she would have been wearing a different kind of bra at the very least if that show were being filmed now. Which is enraging.

polyhymnia · 27/04/2015 20:33

Yes to waterfall cardigans as a personal hate.
And grotesquely altered faces.

SwedishEdith · 27/04/2015 20:34

I hate the terms Bretons and ballet flats too

Yes, yes, yes to this. And I hate how people's feet look in them - all flat. And when they're worn when the weather is too cold to go sockless - all those cold, flat feet in horrible black shoes.

I also really hate sandals that have barely any material - an almost cardboard flat, this sole with a single strap of thin leather to keep them on so people look like they're walking barefoot.

Never realised I such an issue with feet until I typed that out!

Itsalldramarama · 27/04/2015 20:48

Slug eyebrows
Too much fake tan
Nude lipstick .. Who wants to look like the walking dead !
Chunky jumpers
Crew necks
Polo necks
Short sleeve cardigans ( just push the sleeves up!
Ripped skinny jeans
Hair that straightened to an inch of its life
Unpainted toenails
Tunic/swing dresses
Coloured tights
Leggings with tops that don't cover your bum
Crop tops unless you are super toned
Long nails
Nails without a decent manicure
Flat over the knee boots
Overpowering cheap perfume
But love my uggs , don't mind a muted animal print , love my boyfriend jeans,
( from someone who was a indie/goth who gives a damn type of girl in the 80/90s cringe!! Ripped to shred skinnies with fishnets under and 14 hole DMs! Tutus and basques with said DMs !

ouryve · 27/04/2015 20:49

Orangeness
See through leggings with short tops. Looks like you put your tights on but forgot your skirt. Extra bonus when they're so shiny your butt creases sparkle as you walk.
Shoes you have to deform your feet in some wat to wear
Ditto for sloppy ugg like boots that you can only shuffle in
Clothes for adults that look like big versions of something designed with 6 year olds in mind eg with cutesy pictures of dogs on the front

JoyceDivision · 27/04/2015 20:49

Hoof boots / wedge trainer boots / all in one suede wedge boots - No no no they look like clunky support footwear.

Leggings as trousers/ leggings and crop tops

Big false buns in hair, mega thick foundation, esp with loads of eyeliner / false lashes / red lippy ie caked on TOWIE look

Handbags with carry straps perched on arm held out as a crook... a handbag should be easy to carry, not, llike nick grimshaw pointed out on R1, like taylor swift looking like she was carrying a bag for the first time!!

metal chains/ cluncky metal motifs on handbags no no no!

wedge /chunky jelly bean shoes, every one knows the jellybean sandal was the flat slip on thing!

SconessMcFloness · 27/04/2015 20:57

I hate those ballet flats with the string corseting - excessively fat, long looking feet on all the bloggers, despite their feet looking normal in any other footwear - not at all flattering on me either!
Flashy labels especially on leather goods - Russell&Bromley what were you thinking?
High heel trainers = stumpy feet - awful things!
Gold chain on bags, especially when plaited with leather.
Mountain wear/goretex jackets worn with smart clothing..so wrong.
Flares - not looking good on everyone!
Boat shoes and slip on's for men - boak!

zfactor · 27/04/2015 20:58

Wedges
Obvious make-up
Obvious ‘work’
Nail varnish (especially on toenails)
Over-dyed/bleached hair
Fake tan
Weird eyebrows
Boot-cuts and flares
Polyester anything
Acrylic anything
Shift dresses
Chunky bangles
Huge rings
Boden prints
Whitestuff prints
Seasalt prints
Cath Kitson prints
Orla Kiely prints
Joules anything.

SconessMcFloness · 27/04/2015 20:58

Oh yes hand bags carried on crook of elbow - you look as daft as the year 7 girl who are trying to look like celebs.

alwayshavepeckham · 27/04/2015 21:07

Brides in strapless dresses. Aware that I'm alone in this.

FunkyPeacock · 27/04/2015 21:07

Agree with a lot of the above but love my ballet flats & brogues! - and I have a few stripy t-shirts but I'd never describe them as bretons - cringeShock

My personal hates are:
Boyfriend jeans
long & claw-like nail extensions
Orange fake tan
Shoe-boots
Horsey chic (quilted jackets/barber/joules)
Boden rainy day macs
Fake boobs/botex etc
Gilets - if it's cold enough for a coat I want my arms to be warm thanks!

FunkyPeacock · 27/04/2015 21:10

100% agree re strapless bridal gowns with a straight edge along the top - they suit very few people!

I have never understood their popularity

Sunbeam18 · 27/04/2015 21:28

Tops with animals on them, often a fox or a dog.

Phrase - 'go to'. 'Its my go to off duty look'.

Skater dresses, Uggs, fit flops, maxi dresses, crop tops, all shorts ever, shiny tights, boden tunics, linen.

I do have nude high-heeled Ash boots. Don't hate me! Grin

AmelieinOz · 27/04/2015 22:19

Scuba material
Floral - on me
I used not to like skinny jeans and jeggings but for a long time they're almost the only ones available so I kind of got into it. But yay for flares coming back!

applecatchers36 · 27/04/2015 22:43

Really like red nails, brogues on women & own both stripey top and animal print basics...

Dislike white jeans, big logos, those huge fluffy jackets that make the wearer look like big bird, mumsy print tunics, crop tops unless your sixteen Wink

daftyburd · 27/04/2015 22:53

One exception to men in vests!

EthelDurant123 · 27/04/2015 23:01

I hate the (now passing into fashion history thank F) hipster look on men. Rolled up jeans or trousers showing off brogues and no socks! Pork pie hats. Tank tops! Eugh.

Forgot! Shirt dresses! Wrap dresses! Maxi dresses! All make my plus size @r $£ look like a lumpy Italian sausage.

catrin · 27/04/2015 23:22

Those thin, patterned trousers that appear to be everywhere at the moment. They seem to make women's arses look like 2 blancmanges in a carrier bag.

Saw a woman last week wearing sandals that were nothing more than a sole and a toe post. No strap. Not going over a single toe, just wedged between the first 2. Grim.

Leggings and short tops. No need for it.

The implication a man's white shirt will always be a wardrobe staple for every woman, ideally in a post coital situation.

As has been already mentioned... a trouser, a lip, an eye.

Peach.

TelephoneIgnoringMachine · 27/04/2015 23:32

Square ended nails, deeply unattractive. If you wear polish etc, this is going to chip so quickly on the corners. If you don't, why would you bother with such a high-maintenance shape? Surely it would catch & tear within days?

KatoPotato · 28/04/2015 00:57

Vintage/rockabilly/swing dresses with victory rolls and headscarves. Often complete with inappropriate chubby cleavage and mass market tattoo sleeves. It's not one jot original anymore.

GoStraightGoStraight · 28/04/2015 01:37

I agree about the square nails chipping much more easily - they really do. When I get my shellac done I always ask for 'squoval' or as the nail girls call it, 'round-square.' But they hardly ever speak much English and sometimes they make them too square and I can't really tell until the shellac is on and it's too late to file the corners down. It definitely chips and catches more easily.
