Have the Workwear Chatty threads stopped?

Just clearing down my Watched Threads and realised that I've not seen one in Active Convos for ages, can't find one on the first 5 pages in topic.

Have they stopped? Summer is coming!

I bought myself this white linen jacket from M &S not long ago:

www.marksandspencer.com/pure-linen-zip-through-jacket/p/p22367682

It does cost more than a Zara jacket, but the quality and fit is fantastic. I can imagine me wearing it in 10 years time so cost per wear will be low.(I wear quite a lot of white to work and touch wood haven't had any disasters).
As so often M&S's styling is dreadful. It looks much better with cropped trousers and heels or a slim skirt IMHO.

ElizabethHoover · 15/04/2015 22:12

Those Zara white work trousers are a bargain at 25 quid. And lovely. The 12 is fine on me. Are def 7/8 rather than cropped.

ElizabethHoover · 15/04/2015 22:15

Nice jackay b think might suit Remus

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/04/2015 17:24

Which one?

ElizabethHoover · 16/04/2015 17:43

Bearleigh's one

WottaMess · 17/04/2015 17:32

Wore this today blue shirt dress with lipstick pink patent heels. Polyester but drapes nicely and not pricey.

Also bought this jigsaw tea dress which is brighter reds and blues than the picture implies. Viscose but again feels nice.

Finally picked this up purple rouched Jersey dress for a work wear dinner next week. Very flattering over norks.

cheminotte · 17/04/2015 21:25

Took the M&S trousers back after DP said they were old-lady!

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 17/04/2015 22:32

Wotta - that Phase Eight dress is a gorgeous colour, and I find that style v flattering. I'd love to be able to wear polyester - polyester crepe is everywhere and, is durable and looks great. Not to mention that its a fraction of the cost of wool crepe (which you can't easily find, anyway).

Cheminotte - I don't exactly welcome comments like that from DH, but once uttered, I can't ever "unhear" them.

blodynmawr · 18/04/2015 10:35

I have had a few useful new tops from Boden this week to deal with the warmer weather:

Sleeveless cowl neck
Supersoft scoop neck t-shirt
Ravello top in new colours.

I like a good pattern and the navy geometric print Ravello is stunning on. Not sure about the cowl neck pattern options though and wish they would just offer more plain colours!

blodynmawr · 18/04/2015 10:40

Forgot to say, I was going to get those M&S cotton trousers Cheminotte and Remus but have now deleted them from my basket!
I usually wear wool trousers all year round and just wear short sleeve tops with them in warmer weather. Watching with interest though for any good cotton summer trousers options!

ElizabethHoover · 18/04/2015 10:47

i want someone to look at this in RL www.marksandspencer.com/pure-linen-long-sleeve-top/p/p22370853

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/04/2015 13:52

That looks nice, EH. I probably won't be in town for a week or so though, so somebody will hopefully get there to investigate it before then. I'm desperate for a white top and find it really, really hard to find ones that work on me (norks, pale skin).

Whilst you're all here btw, and nothing to do with workwear, can anybody with nork issues recommend a bra that might make my 32Es look a bit smaller, without flattening them?

ElizabethHoover · 18/04/2015 15:03

we need a white top that aint a t shirt thread

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/04/2015 18:40

Are you recommending that particular bra? It looks a bit too small for the model, no?

ElizabethHoover · 18/04/2015 18:58

It's a great not minimiser. Shapes you round not flat. Nor up and out.

Plus seamless for summer

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/04/2015 19:23

Cheers. :)

cheminotte · 18/04/2015 19:42

Yes I also need some white tops that aren't see-through. I don't want everyone to see my bra funnily enough!
Friend at work said at least DP was being honest with his comment, better than ' lovely, dear'.

margaritasbythesea · 18/04/2015 21:22

I am no bra exoert but I am the same size as you. I found this one good for flattening ouf a bit but still giving a nice shape. Bra fitting lady said others had said the same. here Make sure you try that one. There are several similarly named.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/04/2015 21:24

Thanks, Margaritas. Great name btw - one of my v favourite things!

ElizabethHoover · 18/04/2015 21:48

oh god i sdid a per una double take while zooming in to get Naan breads.
Coudlnt stop to really look but I think Remus its one of THOSE skirts you like

ooh its not peruna

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 18/04/2015 21:55

Uniqlo are having a sale, and their silk shirts and short sleeved tops are £24.90 www.uniqlo.com/uk/store/feature/uq/silk/women/

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/04/2015 22:40

In khaki, that's actually quite me, Elizabeth. M&S almost certainly too long though. I'd wear it with a biker and heeled ankle boots for casual, or with a cropped jacket and high heels for work.

Bearleigh · 19/04/2015 09:35

This is a smart white 't shirt' -the fabric looks expensive, and the slight shine makes it so much smarter than normal white t shirts - I suspect it's not that see-through too, with a nude bra at any rate, though I haven't tried it on:
