Just clearing down my Watched Threads and realised that I've not seen one in Active Convos for ages, can't find one on the first 5 pages in topic.

Have they stopped? Summer is coming!

Yup. Agree

Have just done some wardrobe tidying/culling. I didn't think I had many sriped tops, but found eight. None of which are right and three of which are now in the charity shop bag.

Remus - I think Thelma and Louise is probably of its time, although if you like a young Brad Pitt you might enjoy. I like Susan Sarandon!

I have a thread here if anyone wants an excuse to internet browse.....

Bumping this thread...

Autumn has brought new challenges. Since I have last worked I lost some weight so none of my trousers fit me. I found a good pair of slim, cropped trousers at H&M but have not been able to find a suitable longer length that is not excessively long (being all
Of about 5ft4).

Also having trouble finding ankle boots that could work with either skirts and dresses and yet undiscovered holy grail trousers. And NOT in suede. Everything is flipping suede this year. Well, it's a wet country. It doesn't do suede very wellAngry

pdxs · 13/10/2015 18:51

Congratulations on the weight loss. I tried on gap stovepipe recently... not very long, flattering

lurkingabit · 13/10/2015 22:35

pdxs are they true to size?

Djangor · 15/10/2015 06:33

I wear Gap slim cropped pants - come in different lengths, but I am curvy so pear-shaped bottom half. Best fitting cotton trousers for ages with belt loops & discrete zipped pockets so am just about to buy my third pair as a spare.
Agree on the suede boot point but suede is perfect for shoe brands & shops - boots look scruffy within a year, despite spraying with expensive protector, so you buy new boots every year. I expect my leather ones to last for years & get the heels & soles replaced occasionally. Suede also hopeless in winter & spring when it seems to rain every other day.
I like laced or non-clumpy biker boot styles with skirts & trousers but do tend to have a pair of heels in the office to change into as I have a long walk to the office & just like to wear heels sometimes.

BrendaandEddie · 15/10/2015 06:57

hello

I am currently referring a #ponchoff on the poncho thread

still avoiding wearing tights and boots till half term

BrendaandEddie · 15/10/2015 06:57

stovepipe were VERY VERY long on me and i have LONG legs

Stevie77 · 15/10/2015 07:04

Think I need to venture into Gap. It is my usual trouser haunt, don't know why I've not thought of them.

pdxs · 15/10/2015 07:48

I thought the gap trousers all roughly true to size... long not a big deal (easy to hem, even with fashion tape)...so hard to find decent trousers that a little adjustment would not put me off

Also tried their crops... v v flattering on big tum and hips (flat front pulls you in, no pocket bulk as sewn down) and crop is feminine as shows skin/a heel looks good
.. worried a bit cold though!

I also liked hobbs emma trousers (clearance/outlet)... similar style and decent fit

My big trouser challenge is room in thigh vs not too baggy waist

1st day back in tights yesterday...?? might see if I can hold out today

pdxs · 15/10/2015 07:50

Other work wear find... and other stories doing a massive sale, some great stuff ... Their fabrics look good and at half price it's reasonable. Like their jewellery too

lurkingabit · 15/10/2015 11:00

I have the Gap croppeds and yy they are v good but I wore them yesterday and was freezing all day. Ordered the stovepipes last night (30% off new season in Gap 30 GAP is the code I think) but clearly they will be about 2 feet too long for me so I'll see if it's worth altering them. (I usually have to dickie about with trews too) Thanks pdxs, will look at Hobbs and otherstories. Have similar trews issues.

Caved today on the boots issue - 1st day in tights and boots today. Hello Winter.

Looking for jumpers suitable for work, not too hot, not too cold, just right. The Goldilocks of jumpers, if you will. Grin

Bought this Zara short coat for days when I'm in and out of the car. I'm a bit undecided, will try on again. A lot of buttons. Flattering on tho.

BrendaandEddie · 15/10/2015 22:16

i agree cropped is only ok if office/room is warm and you arent outside much

two more days beofre half temr

KanyesVest · 15/10/2015 22:43

pdxs, what's sizing like in and other stories. I need to check which of the million items in my basket will fit...
