Have the Workwear Chatty threads stopped?

MrsBertMacklin · 11/04/2015 00:22

Just clearing down my Watched Threads and realised that I've not seen one in Active Convos for ages, can't find one on the first 5 pages in topic.

Have they stopped? Summer is coming!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 11/04/2015 17:51

In summer I wear with a camisole top and cropped fitted cardigan/jacket. I'm definitely not snake-hipped, but that look mostly works better on me than dresses/more fitted stuff.

Littlepinkpear · 11/04/2015 21:45

Hello again all. I've bought nothing much on the workwear front recently. Although I would never usually look in Hobbs the dresses up thread are lovely.

I really really should get buying, it's been a massive struggle getting dressed recently. A spring refresh needs to happen soon. I really like a few things from Oasis of all places. I'm just happy to see colour in the shops at last I think Smile

I've got a Cos dress I bought but I don't think it's work suitable. I can't find it online but it's navy with a large green panel in the back.

I'm also debating with myself about returning a Whistles bag. £200 and the grey leather is peeling badly around the zip. It looks terrible.

thenightsky · 11/04/2015 23:12

Little How long have you had the bag? I'd take it back if less than a year.

florencedombey · 11/04/2015 23:50

I hope Belinda is ok, I noticed she's not updated her workwear blog for a few weeks. Sorry to hear she's ill.

Littlepinkpear · 12/04/2015 06:55

Thenightsky, less than a month. Only used a handful of times. Hmm

margaritasbythesea · 12/04/2015 08:59

I like these threads!

What was wrong with the Warehouse dress? The shape looks great for me but material perhap is a bit unforgiving?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/04/2015 10:00

On me the Warehouse shape just bunched up around tummy and norks and made me look fat. Maybe it's because I'm short waisted?

Belinda was on Twitter the other day - I hope she's on the mend now.

margaritasbythesea · 12/04/2015 11:17

Thanks. I am long waisted! Was the fabric ok?

Hope to see Belinda soon .... get well

noddyholder · 12/04/2015 11:45

The dress looked great on my friend but very slim although not tall

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 12/04/2015 17:05

Hi ladies, I'm fine, but really kind comments, thank you! I had "proper" flu (aka not man flu), that turned to bronchitis. Am almost "cured". However, my spare time is currently spent obsessively restoring an antique oak dining table and chairs.

Will get back to the blog ASAP, though.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 12/04/2015 17:07

Interesting that Zara have just introduced a mid season sale. The only thing I wanted from the poor limited selection seemed to sell out within an hour, though. It was a pretty, white w yellow flowers dress. Not remotely workwear, but v definitely a lovely, feminine summer dress. Prob quite good for summer corporate events, as it allows for bra straps, and isnt short or body con.

noddyholder · 12/04/2015 17:07

Glad you are on the mend!

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 12/04/2015 17:26

Smile thanks Noddy.

pinkpear - return the bag - that's an unacceptable level of quality. What are you paying for, at £200 per bag, if not quality? What style, is it, out of interest? I'd heard good things about Whistles bags, but maybe they had a bad batch?

FrugalFashionista · 12/04/2015 17:31

Hi Belinda so happy that you are feeling better! Can I ask you what lipstick you are wearing in the Instagram photo where you are trying on your new DVF sunnies? It's a really pretty shade!

margaritasbythesea · 12/04/2015 17:44

Hello Belinda.

i am not superslim. I was a bit worried that you could see the contours of the model's bottom but it is exactly what i have been looking for in shape and colous. I can' t wear a harsh navy or a cobalt. It is thd first softish blue worky dress i have seen around. Sleeves too. Will order and try.

ElizabethHoover · 12/04/2015 18:56

oi Blinners
Nice to see you.
How roomy is the Uniqlo sillk top
will it hang badly off bustage?

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 12/04/2015 19:16

Hi Frugal that lipstick is Australian - friends bring me supplies. However I also really like LoreL Color Riche lipstick in 302 Boise Rose www.tesco.com/direct/loral-color-riche-lipstick-302-bois-de-rose/757-2464.prd really nice creamy lipstick, that isn't drying, in a nude rose pink.

FrugalFashionista · 12/04/2015 19:24

Thanks Belinda! Looks great on you! I guess our coloring is very similar - I love similar rosewood shades!

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 12/04/2015 20:05

It's just so flattering, Frugal, a rosewood, isn't it?! When I was younger Niger, I loved a dark vampy lipstick. Well, it looked awful on me. Aging and lip "thinning". Eurgh. A nude rose is the way for me. Although I wore a deep raspberry today (Rimmel Kate matte lipstick in 107, I think is the number), and that was very flattering, too. Also, Maybelline Color Drama Red Essential or Keep It Classy - great Nars lip pencil dupes for women who need "cool" toned lipsticks.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 12/04/2015 20:06

Elizabeth - not sure about that Uniqlo top - they weren't in store when I last did a try on there. The silk shirts are VERY roomy and good for bosomy ladies, though. Eve WornOut is bosomy, and she loves her Uniqlo silk shirts. I'm less impressive by a lot in that department, and XS fits me with room to move. If I find out about the tops, will update.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 12/04/2015 20:07

Noddy - love that Yasmin Sewell outfit pic you posted earlier.

noddyholder · 12/04/2015 20:17

I love a lot of her clothes!

hettie · 12/04/2015 20:26

Hello Smile I have a question for Belinda. You know the gap true straight trousers that you featured in your blog? Have you seen anything similar in a grey? I could even do something a bit more ankle skimming/cropped... I am looking for something a bit lighter (but go with everything) for summer.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 12/04/2015 20:36

Hettie - Bananas Republic often have grey trousers, like these bananarepublic.gap.co.uk/browse/product.do?cid=57998&vid=1&pid=000187079
