wearing many of these dresses requires legs in good condition - and I hate to wear tights in the summer!

does anyone have tips for making the most of 50 year old legs that may have a few blemishes etc. although still in good shape (apart from slightly saggy knees with weird dark patches)

or should I start a new thread!

lurkingaround · 05/04/2015 09:51

Sally Hansen stuff is your friend.

ElizabethHoover · 05/04/2015 09:54

right. take a pic of these alleged crimes against humanity.

then we will judge

the only items I really needed last summer were:

  1. White tops not t shirts for work
  2. Going out bottoms for when it's too hot for jeans. Or they looked unseasonal. I have loads of white trousers.

Do I need sep thread ?

I am trying to take a picture but it is proving impossible to photograph your own legs! Have you ever tried?

ElizabethHoover · 05/04/2015 10:15

See these shorts here. They're in stock on the tenth of May. I likey

Mine is a different one or was I returned it!

Bakeoffcake · 05/04/2015 10:24

My legs are coming up to 50 too. I use Saint Tropez everyday tan(light) it's great, doesn't smell too bad and you end up with a lovely light golden colour which covers up the blemishes.

noddyholder · 05/04/2015 10:24

www.marksandspencer.com/tencel-embroidered-neckline-denim-tunic-dress/p/p22355466 This very nice on need to get a small one as quite big I ordered the finery one and the clumpy sandals came and are gorgeous so am keeping those.

noddyholder · 05/04/2015 10:25

Yes a bitbof fake tan and oil needed here too 49!

NigellasGuest · 05/04/2015 10:31

Judge away!

Your legs are awesome Shock!!! Nobody will be looking at dark patches on your knees ( not that I can see them anyway).

noddyholder · 05/04/2015 10:35

Great legs

NigellasGuest · 05/04/2015 10:43

thank you for kind comments but I think it's a flattering angle and actually close up theyre horrible... I will try to post a close up if that's ok (dont want to hijack thread not to mention cause mass easter egg regurgitation)

MaryWestmacott · 05/04/2015 10:43

You have a large thigh gap - trust me, you've got good legs! If you have darker patches, just get some fake tan on, but honestly, you have non-knobbly knees and slim thighs, you can get your pins out!

NigellasGuest · 05/04/2015 11:04

I have blue veins showing on the backs of my knees and loads of thread veins - photo doesn't show those. I'm happy with shape of my legs so perhaps fake tan will cover the offending areas...

I've never fake tanned before (although LurkingAround I have used the Sally Hanson stuff and it was too much like foundation, i didn't like it) - so thanks to this thread I have now bought a new dress, a new pair of shoes, and will be fake tanning! Honestly I have spent ££££££ over the years thanks to S&B!!

ElizabethHoover · 05/04/2015 11:05

WHO IS CLOSE UP TO YOUR LEGS

OP posts:
NigellasGuest · 05/04/2015 11:10

thanks for the confidence boost - I'm going to dare to go bare and chuck out the leggings!!!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 05/04/2015 11:22

I used the Dove Summer Glow stuff last year - was good.

lurkingaround · 05/04/2015 11:22

Jeez your legs are great! Liz is right: who's close up to your legs? Mine are not as good as your's but I refuse to think they're anything but fine. Bit of fake tan or Sally Hansen and off I go.

Delighted to hear the Finery stuff is good. Going to order.

I really want a neutral colour jacket, not grey.

ElizabethHoover · 05/04/2015 11:28

I quite like camo in skirt form, but not in trousers.

Love these shorts
