for vintage mumsnetters ONLY who understand the raison d'etre of a school run dress.

Like the Warehouse one.

VirginiaTonic · 29/03/2015 11:30

All bloody awful if you ask me. I like this.

Greenstone · 29/03/2015 11:31

Or cos but would be too long on me

ElizabethHoover · 29/03/2015 11:32

as the originator of the term school run dress coughs and tugs lapels I can tell you it is a throw on dress that you put on to make yourself decent after an afternoon titting about with toddlers in the garden.

sighs wistfully at the memory

viscose = sweat, Virginia

ElizabethHoover · 29/03/2015 11:39

I like AmericanVintage for this kind of thing. bit pricer though

mewkins · 29/03/2015 12:34

I like the idea of all parents (including dads and grandparents) turning up at pick up time in matching tunics! Hehe

ElizabethHoover · 29/03/2015 12:43

Viscose though

I would be a 'vintage' mumsnetter and remember the original school run dress threads. Quite liking the Next one to wear with leggings (shock horror) - I'm flying to Australia next month and looking for something comfortable to wear travelling. That might be just the thing.

Thanks!

acatcalledjohn · 29/03/2015 13:19

I'm not that keen on denim dresses, but then I saw this one:

Oasis Dita Dress

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/03/2015 13:40

I've had my eye on this one but fear it would look awful on me.

I like the one in the the first post, but agree that for summer it needs shorter sleeves. If it's warm enough for bare legs, it's deffo too warm for long sleeves.

MangoJuggler · 29/03/2015 13:47

Awwwww misty watercoloured memories here too of titting about with toddlers then swishing on summat half decent to go get the olders. I used to get bonus cuddles for smelling all biscuity from baking. Arf.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 29/03/2015 13:59

It's awful. Shapeless unimaginative.
Also may I ask. Who are you to say who can and can't post here. I refer to your initial post. Vintage mumnrtters only. News flash. This is a world wide public site. Not meaning to be a bitch but clique exclusive behavior does not sit well with some, not least myself.
Also I wouldn't call that dress vintage. It couldn't lace the boots of a vintage dress.

ElizabethHoover · 29/03/2015 14:02

EXACTLY mango

Grin at lighthouse

whatever

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 29/03/2015 14:04

lighthouse - I think the OP just wanted to prevent any questions about "why do you need a school run dress". Lace the boots of a dress? Confused

I have a similar denim dress to the ones you ordered, liz and love wearing it. Really easy to wear.

ElizabethHoover · 29/03/2015 14:11

Exactly. People argue the toss over the heinous crime of liking nice as you walk the earth

OP posts:
ElizabethHoover · 29/03/2015 14:11

Looking. Even

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/03/2015 14:13

Lighthouse - methinks you might be taking it all a bit too seriously.

I have a nice but ancient denim shirt dress, but really want a more current looking one. Most of them are too long for me though.

mammuzzamia · 29/03/2015 14:14

Ooh I like that one, acatcalledjohn.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/03/2015 14:14

This is nice

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 29/03/2015 14:16

Just don't like cliques and exclusions. Flame away

acatcalledjohn · 29/03/2015 14:20

I don't dislike it, Remus, but I am SHOCKED that it was once £120. Even at £48 I'd be waiting for it to be on sale at around £20-£25 tops.
