The hush model looks good in everything the clothes are nicely styled not over done the hair and everything

ElizabethHoover · 04/04/2015 16:02

people querying the school run thing

ITs a kind of in joke. you need to read the whole thread. None of us even DO a school run any more

I have never done a school run, ever.

dailygrowl · 04/04/2015 16:11

I think the Next dress is great....as a shirt! The day the wind whips it up or I have to bend over to help retrieve an item that fell out of the school bag would be the one day that the headmaster or prim deputy headmistress walks past and sees me showing my knickers if I wear it as a dress. Too risky.

dailygrowl · 04/04/2015 16:14

Just saw the comment about the dress not being for the school run - ok, I still can't wear it as a dress either. Same thing about the wind and bending down blah, blah applies - even if it's not the headmaster/ deputy head.

ScrambledSmegsMP · 04/04/2015 17:23

Can't do those lovely fresh/loose styles like those on here. I need something more fitted otherwise it looks like a sack. Have just bought this in navy and am hoping it's going to be a useful dress for the spring/summer. Although would probably be a bit heavy for the hottest weather.

MrsCampbellBlack · 04/04/2015 17:56

The blue hush dress isn't flimsy - it is double fabric on the skirt bit. I have the coral version from last year and it washed and wore very well.

The dress you linked too ballroom looks just the same to me but with long sleeves but i may be missing something.

I've been doing a school run for ummm 7 years and will for the next however many years. I do go onto work most days though.

BallroomWithNoBalls · 04/04/2015 18:19

Ah ok maybe it is the same then! If it's double layered then I might give it a go, the name put me off too as it makes it sound like just a thin jersey dress. I want more of the mid sleeved midi dresses with the dip hem they did last summer, gorgeous stretchy thick cotton. Maybe these are the same fabric they just look flimsy online to me.

BallroomWithNoBalls · 04/04/2015 18:20

I don't do school runs (yet)

ElizabethHoover · 04/04/2015 18:20

think the long sleeved one looks aces too

That Amazon broderie dress looks lovely and bargainous. I never understand how these things work though - was it designed for White Stuff then not sold, so factory are flogging? Or are they copies? Or seconds?

MrsCampbellBlack · 04/04/2015 18:37

I can't do flimsy - believe me no-one wants to see my bottom in a flimsy jersey dress Wink

I think hush should have ironed the dresses before putting on the models.

Carminia · 04/04/2015 20:21

I never buy cloths from M&S (other than underwear!), but this year I am very tempted to get my first dress from there
www.marksandspencer.com/tencel-embroidered-dress/p/p22373444
may be a bit loose for me, as more fitted styles are normally not so shit better on me...

ladyboss2 · 04/04/2015 20:26

carminia Thats a very nice dress! i'd be tempted to.

BallroomWithNoBalls · 04/04/2015 20:36

Oh that M and S dress is gorgeous!

ElizabethHoover · 04/04/2015 22:05

hmm - the old ethnic thing not quite my scene, but report back!

OP posts:
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 04/04/2015 22:10

Hasn't Noddy got that M&S one, or did I dream it?

RonaldMcDonald · 04/04/2015 22:16

I love the long sleeved hush and will buy and report back....
I tried Zara today but had eldest with me and it wasn't the best set up for dithering through their rails.
There was a lot of love expressed for the child section whilst I used smelling salts for the prices

BallroomWithNoBalls · 04/04/2015 22:50

Browsing M and S - check [[

BallroomWithNoBalls · 04/04/2015 22:50

Check this monstrosity out Grin

ScrambledSmegsMP · 04/04/2015 22:53

I honestly have no idea either re: the not-quite White Stuff dress - but it's on Amazon and has free delivery, so even if it's terrible I can return it and get a refund quite easily.

I'll let you know anyway.

BallroomWithNoBalls · 04/04/2015 22:54

Charcoal tencel shirt dress looks good though

ScrambledSmegsMP · 04/04/2015 22:57

Plus it's 100% cotton. Allegedly...

scrumpkin · 04/04/2015 23:02

I have this. It's more of a top and not a dress d I'm 5"3

It's nice though...

Bakeoffcake · 05/04/2015 09:14

Scrambled thank you for the link to the Amazon dress, I've just ordered it in the blue and black. I'm like you in that I need a lot of structure as being big of boobage, I can end up looking like a little round ball if I don't have a defined waist and firm material.

Love this thread by the way- lots of lovely links.
