I was about to say my high tops Shop and then thought I actually bought them in the summer.

So pink Hush jumper I've worn loads and H&M pleather leggings. Also I bought a parka that I've worn practically every day but regret not buying one that was warmer and more waterproof so don't think it can count as a best purchase.

I've got a "Mad Hatters" themed 40th to go to in a couple of weeks - any outfit ideas? Are mini top hats a bit cabaret? And what does one wear underneath? Not a cabaret outfit!

shopafrolic · 01/04/2015 20:33

Love the Maison one Marsha but loved the Marant too TBF
Linus good that the ££££ were worth it
QueenC love the new bag colour
Betty I must be the only one who hasn't tried Tippis

OP posts:
Stokey · 01/04/2015 20:34

Have Tippis got 3/4 length sleeves? Cold wrists eek.

Drywhiteplease · 01/04/2015 20:38

Pettys and black suede Whistles courts.

shopafrolic · 01/04/2015 20:49

and my second question...... What are you most looking forward to wearing when the sun starts shining and the temperatures soar?
For me? My new LKB sandals and my Comptoir white dress

OP posts:
santamarianovella · 01/04/2015 21:07

I like the marant coat too marsha, so you,

For me, it's the Navy brunello C sweater, and marant bobby trainers,
Oh! And chloe navy jacket, so easy to wear,

Really looking forward to wear, my chinti and Parker navy dress from last SS, I love it and my Stella M skirt , have worn it with tights last week, but I much prefer it with out them,

muddlingalongquitenicely · 01/04/2015 21:43

My most worn item is a pair of ruby shoos perfect height heel for days when i do a lot of walking at work but still get admiring comments from other people.
Not heard of tippis Blush will go and research now!
Most looking forward to summer dresses and a nice pair of sandals

Topazandpearl · 01/04/2015 21:56

Best CPW also Pistols here. Another best buy was my M&S black cashmere sweater, soft, washes well, no pilling.

Looking forward to wearing? I'm not sure - I struggle more with summer clothes. I must give it a bit of focus this year.

It has been 13 years since we moved so I have probably forgotten the stresses. I'm sure I will remember them soon!

So glad your holiday is going well One.

Cranagh · 01/04/2015 22:32

I find tippis a bit short, Shop, I'd say you'd have the same issue.

Favourite winter buys were an Equipment navy polka dot shirt and Rag & Bone jeans.

I'm looking forward to wearing these sandals when it heats up.

Glad you are having a good time, One! Like Amber I also froze in the playground today, I'm fed up with cold weather. Bought myself this as a reward after the playground today. plain but a nice fit.

Betty, those Boden shorts are on sale so ordered another colour.

bettykt · 01/04/2015 23:17

Cranagh I knew you were going to link those sandals Easter Envy am kicking myself I didn't buy them. Will take another look at those shorts, I quite fancy a white pair.

Mudling Tippis are merino sweaters from JCrew, I'm quite short so they're a good length on me.

Re: summer wear I'm a bit like Topaz and struggle with summer clothes, but am determined this year not to go off kilter. I still need to buy s/s clothing am procrastinating over lots of things.

Ellisisland · 02/04/2015 07:26

Best buy have been j brand jeans. Most looking forward to wearing my navy mini dress I got last year with feather print on from Madewell. Was purchased on a whim and I love it.

I find I have better clothes for AW rather than SS. I think part of it is that in the UK the spring weather can be so changeable that you may start the day in a summer dress but need to cover up later so I end up looking confused !
What are on shopping lists for SS? I need to get some shorts, which I always struggle to buy.

QueenCardigan · 02/04/2015 07:50

I just can't wait to just roll up my jeans and get some air on my feet and ankles. Other than that I'm looking forward to wearing new keds, my silver saltwaters (also new) and the new sandals that should be arriving today. What have you all fine to me??? I've never owned this many shoes!

Clothes wise I always love my gap navy broderie top although I think it may be looking a bit tired this year so may need to try and dye it. I'm also determined to get more wear out of the jaegar blouse. For those of you that don't know the jaegar blouse its white broaderie and cost £90 which is a lot for me. Consequently Im scared to wear it in case I ruin it Confused. I've vowed only to ever buy cheap white tops from now on Grin.

My question is does anyone have any items of clothing that they still mourn? I have a couple of tops that I still miss-a navy and green white stuff blouse that I wore to death and ended up really faded so had to be binned. And a gap tartan blouse that came to the same fate. I loved those tops.

muddlingalongquitenicely · 02/04/2015 07:53

Good to know the sizing, thanks betty im also short so will def have a look at them.

Off to hairdressers soon for a trim and my eyebrows tinted and reigned back in. Not sure what im wearing yet but need to get a move on.
Might go look at some flat pumps or trainers for london as dont really own many flat shoes

shopafrolic · 02/04/2015 08:14

Cranagh Tippi tip noted thanks
QueenC knew the shoe bug would get you eventually Grin
Stokey sorry - missed your post last night - great theme for a party. There was that fab Annie L Alice in Vogue shoot - might be worth a google for inspiration? You could always borrow Dry's Queen of Hearts outfit Grin
Or stripey tights, blue tutu and playing cards headband. Loads of bits on Pin here

Hi all, just popping in but won't be able to catch up.

Shop your question about best AW purchase got me thinking as nothing jumped out though I have bought things in that time...think I tend to buy things out of season or in the sales so don't wear them straightaway. Of course I got good wear out of my 2 winter coats but I wouldn't say they were great buys, more functional.

So maybe some chinti and parker tops I bought (one grey, one navy) which I have worn a lot - but again, not very inspiring.

This summer, I am looking forward to wearing my boho tops and also - my birkenstocks! I have quite a bit of SS clothing and as we don't get to wear it much, it is all in good condition. So I don't need much but I am quite keen on a jacket like this mango one but I do have something similar already (thanks Lib)

QueenC I think I overdid the de cluttering on my wardrobe when I got my colours done - often see photos where I was wearing something and regret giving it away. I like your new bag btw. Have you used it yet? And I love saltwater sandals, I have a yellow pair and am looking forward to wearing them too.

Stokey what high tops did you buy?

Linus I didn't get the shirt in the end. I do like some of the other warehouse stuff on Asos as well. No idea on quality though.

Today am wearing APC stripey jumper from Liberty Flowers denim midi skirt and white superstars.

Happy Easters to all, Dry hope you enjoy your week in London. One sounds like you are having a fab time.

QueenCardigan · 02/04/2015 09:12

bernice I haven't used the bag yet as it only arrived yesterday. I wont have any need for it today sadly as all im doing is taking the dc swimming.

shop if the tippi is the same length as the jumper that bernice gave to me then it'll definitely be too short for you.

stokey is the mad hatters theme Alice innWonderland theme or just wearing mad hats?

shopafrolic · 02/04/2015 09:14

I had an amazing pair of Hugo Boss black smart trousers which fitted me perfectly. This was pre DS. I wore them on a night out and put my heel through them. :( I miss them.
I also miss my khaki Warehouse dress as I can't find the shape again.

OP posts:
muddlingalongquitenicely · 02/04/2015 09:28

I miss my faith black block heeled courts they were so comfy had them reheeled loads and still looked new. One day walking down the stairs the heel got caught in my trouser hem and i fell down the stairs managed to stop myself by grabbing the hand rail when i looked at my shoes the heel had crumpled right in to the sole and had to throw them away

Cranagh · 02/04/2015 09:32

Pedro Garcia have some gorgeous summer sandals, Betty, keep an eye out for the sales. They are cheaper than at NAP on his own website and deliver here. I'd like a flat pair.

Like Bernice I also got rid of a few (black) things post colour analysis now I'm sorry. Also ebayed a few LV epi leather bags when DD1 was a baby that I thought I'd never use again, I really regret now that I didn't keep one as can't afford them again!

Ellis, give the Boden chino shorts a go, I also got a nice pair last year from H&M.

S/S shopping list: flat pair of sandals, new casual dress, also light jacket for playground trips etc like this [[http://www.harrods.com/product/folco-cruiser-international-quilted-jacket/barbour-international/000000000004671242 Barbour]], couple of tops from Velvet which my American friend is bringing over in May.

Cranagh · 02/04/2015 09:32

Barbour

LinusDKD · 02/04/2015 09:35

Morning!

I am looking forward to wearing ballet flats and bretons again!

It is bloody freezing here so no chance of that happening any time soon.

I can't really think of anything I really miss, might come up with something later.

QueenCardigan · 02/04/2015 09:53

Loved these from the moment I saw them online a couple of weeks ago and knew they had to be mine. And now they are Smile

Cranagh · 02/04/2015 10:21

Lovely shoes, QueenC.

I like ballet flats and bretons too, Linus. Don't have any bretons atm.

BrandyAlexander · 02/04/2015 11:00

Morning everyone! I am at home today, hurray! This has been the cashmere winter, so the item of clothing I have worn the most has been my MaxMara cashmere coat. I just love the feel of it and how I look in it. It was almost £2k so not even going to justify cpwGrin. The other two things I have worn a lot are two marks and Spencer's jackets in navy and blue. They are a perfect fit in petite and go with all my work dresses etc. they cost just under £50 each and fantastic cpw there! Casual clothes - lots of wear from my white company cashmere sweaters but also j crew ones from last season.

I have a few things I feel guilty about.Blush I have an lk bennett trench coat that I haven't worn. Stupid, impulsive and expensive (£300) buy. That adds to last years Jaegar coat that I still haven't worn. Then there were the cashmere lined leather gloves I left on a train. Annoying as they were £35. That pales in comparison to the MaxMara cashmere scarf I appear to have lost.

I feel guilty that I haven't worn the diamond and sapphire bracelet I got for Christmas very much. And similarly guilty that my expensive leather leggings haven't had much of a wear. I wince everytime Shop wears hers!

QueenCardigan · 02/04/2015 11:13

You could always pass on the diamond and sapphire bracelet Wink
