It's March. Spring is in the air. We are looking forward to losing layers and baring ankles.

This is the volume of the hen do and wedding. Will queen manage to get shop to wear penis boppers Grin. And will we all shed a tear when the beautiful blair gets married.

Following on from here

I'm like you queenc! I get my 'cheap fix' from buying beauty and make-up products and my stash is cringeworty.

I do go through phases and atm I am really trying not to buy anything too much

QueenCardigan · 03/03/2015 09:30

I had one of those moments yesterday when I saw my reflection half way through the day and suddenly felt that my lipstick looked like old lady lipstick. After reading the lipstick thread I think I'm just going to buy from counters now on where I can actually try it first!

I have just sent a pm to those of you coming to the meet up or who haven't yet confirmed for definite. If you haven't received it then please let me know as I've either missed you off the list or spelt your name wrong!

Hmmm I need the LibDry support group too - I am bad for internet shopping. Trying to stick to a list and not buy too much for summer as I have loads atm.

Thanks for re-posting that blog Lib as I had a proper look at it this morning. I am a big fan of a capsule and think having 4 a year would work for me as I do like the thrill of the new as well.

QueenC what lipstick were you wearing? I have been a HOC rebel and have not worn lipstick for ages.

Ujj how is your DS now?

Shop I agree that flares are a bit 'out there' for my school gate too - there are people wearing bootcuts from the first time round.

Amber will we see the boiler suit on your blog?

BerniceBobsHerHair · 03/03/2015 11:58

Sorry for multiple posts but I meant to add I ordered this which some of you have pinned breton from J Crew in the red stripe. Am sending back as it is too cream but it is a lovely top, v thick and the stripe on the arm makes it quite unusual imo.

shopafrolic · 03/03/2015 12:11

Lots of bootcut round here too Bernice
Shame about the breton - I liked that and it was one I was going to look at but if too cream I won't bother.
QueenC, Blair et al - I am sorry but I am not going to be able to make the MU. I simply can't afford to do two trips to London in the month running up to our Grand Cayman trip. I hope you all have a fab time.

QueenCardigan · 03/03/2015 12:31

bernice it was a no7 one that I'd bought from their colour match thing. Normally I love it but not yesterday. I will need to try it again and see how I feel. I look deathly without lipstick as my lips are pretty blue tinged so I do need lipstick.

I'm not convinced by the capsule wardrobe thing and not buying for 3 months. The trouble with this country is unless you start planning ahead and buying summer stuff now they shops will be into winter stuff by June. And also I like those odd impulse buys that you just know are right and will fit right in your wardrobe.

shop such a shame. Oh and my bloody annoying dh has got rid of style mag I'm afraid. I rescued it from our indoor recycling bin and just left it in the side. For some mad reason this morning he decided to take the recycling outside, your magazine included. He normally does it on a Wednesday evening so why he felt the need to do it this morning I have no idea. So sorry, I won't be posting it to you.

libertychick · 03/03/2015 12:32

Oh I like that breton

The 'ah ha' moment for me with that blog Bernice was the idea of just putting some things you really like away for a while as then they will feel fresh when you pull them out 3 months later and give them a turn in your capsule wardrobe. I get bored with things just because they are hanging in the wardrobe and I'm tired looking at them!

There is obviously a need for LibDry support but what everyone really needs is some Marsha style discipline!

Cranagh · 03/03/2015 14:33

I have a lot of those symptoms, Liberty. The fear of the credit card keeps me in check.

Liberty, Novice, meeting outfits sounded fab.

I like the un-fancy blog but could not stick to shopping four times a year.

I wore my old COH bootcuts yesterday but can't get past feeling like Jeremy Clarkson. Think I will save them for wearing with sandals in the summer.

Love that Equipment top, Novice, I received it yesterday, in navy.

Also have this on the way and got navy Ash virgins and and an All Saints cardigan. They are so quick to deliver, I ordered last night!

Finally got the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Balm Perfector in red, which I like for a bit of colour but not in your face.

Hi Bernice.

Dry, I've been reading the old Dukan thread. I'm 8 hours in. Grin Did you keep the weight off, do you mind me asking?

I saw a photo of Amber in her boilersuit and I can tell you she looks amazing.

Ujjayi · 03/03/2015 15:06

Thanks all for advice/get well wishes for DS. We saw GP this morning and she feels it is a severe headache/migraine rather than anything else. She did a very thorough examination and got DS to talk about his pain etc. However, we are to go back if he still has pain on Thursday. She has increased the nurofen dosage too. He does seem happier today and said he felt better for the fresh air we had on the walk to GP so I'm feeling less concerned.

QueenC I received the MU message, thank you. Will reply properly shortly. About the lipstick thing - I'm the same as you with blue-ish lips. I'm in danger of receiving CPR from a well meaning passer-by if I don't wear lipstick.

Can I join a Lib/Dry Support group too please? I'm trying to break a habit of buying lots of tops/tees that I feel are missing from my wardrobe but never seem to wear them. I also am a sucker for a bargain but I think that is changing. I wandered around H&M on saturday and honestly didn't want to buy a thing - even the fringe bag that is making an appearance on lots of blogs at the moment didn't really say "buy me".

Amber I have a starting point for your jeans sizing blog post. I pulled out a pair of Citizens of Humanity Ada jeans this morning which I haven't worn in ages (I gained a stack of weight due to medication last year and am only just getting back into my real clothes, as opposed to the emergency weight gain stuff I bought). Anyway, said jeans are 29" waist so should fit given that I can comfortably fit a size 10. Not a chance. They were about 2" too small on the waist and that was after I literally dragged them over my thighs. Couldn't even begin to do the zip up. And yet, here I sit in MiH Paris jeans in a 28" and more than comfortable. So frustrating.

Cranagh love Velvet/Graham & Spencer especially their tees. Beautifully soft and on my wish list for the "buy less, choose well" approach I am trying to adopt. Also loving the All Saints cardigan. Dare I admit to having a merino navy cardigan in my wardrobe which is identical but which was advertised as a "waterfall" cardigan (hangs head in shame). I wear mine draped Vivienne Westwood style - using either a belt or a discreetly placed pin. You've inspired me and I'm now committed to digging it out and wearing with white skinnies once Spring is definitely here.

I'm lusting after IM jewellery on the Outnet today. Some really gorgeous pieces. Also loving this although I would wear it with white skinnies until I have tanned legs. I also think this is rather gorgeous too. I wore a lot of cream last summer with navy and a rich taupe.

OneLittleLady · 03/03/2015 15:44

ujjayi glad Ds is feeling a bit better, I have migraine sympathy, I had one yesterday/this morning and mine come with auras and the associated aura I've got at the minute just won't shift, I slept until lunchtime today and still it won't go. Hope Ds recovers fully quickly Thanks

After going out for some fresh air this afternoon and to pick up migraine medication,I had a brief look in the shops while it was quiet and all i ended up with was shampoo and conditioner and a pair of harry potter pjs. there was nothing that appealed to me. maybe it was my migraine induced fog but i just didn't see anything i liked at all. everything just looked dull, tatty and cheap. the only thing i bought otherwise was some face wash and moisturiser for my Dbro as he'd asked me to help him find something suitable as he didn't really know what to look for

Cranagh · 03/03/2015 15:48

ujjayi, sorry, I missed that about your DS not being well, glad he is feeling happier. One, hope you feel better soon also. I like waterfall cardies.

LinusDKD · 03/03/2015 16:06

one I'm not sure this your style of bag but it looks sturdy and would fit aal your stuff

bag

LinusDKD · 03/03/2015 16:08

Oh and ujjayi glad to hear your DS is feeling better!

Drywhiteplease · 03/03/2015 16:11

Cranagh that's really why I joined MN in the first place, then found you lot and stayed. I'm a total convert. A great diet for me. Not for everyone. Pm me if you need any info, I have the book. Have kept weight off. Wine is the main problem.

OneLittleLady · 03/03/2015 16:24

linus I really like that in the red. Bags,I dont mind buying more classic styles for day to day wear as I find more quirky styles don't stand the test of time for everyday use. i will add that to my short list of bags to go look at after my holiday. I'm spending a week in london after my holiday so that i can attend the pain clinic appointment i've been given so will be able to go to john lewis then as there isn't one where i live unless I go to the nearest city

AmberNectarine · 03/03/2015 18:15

Cranagh I'll pay you later Wink.

Bernice you will see the boiler suit on the blog because I am very happy with it, have worn it two days in a row (unheard of for me!)

Have a job interview tomorrow (hoping no-one from my current employer is on here) - my first for nearly 8 years - I have no idea what I'm going to say. Will rely on my ability to blag! Will only accept the job if it is 100% perfect for me so I don't feel heaps of pressure to perform IYKWIM. Have had to have a rifle through the 'work' section of my wardrobe for the first time in 6m!

LinusDKD · 03/03/2015 18:54

Good luck tomorrow amber!

I have always liked job interviews as I saw them as a challenge and even if the job wasn't really what I wanted or I wasn't what they wanted I always tried to do well because it meant I was brushing up on my interview skills.

Drywhiteplease · 03/03/2015 19:05

linus couldn't have cared less! Tbh I think a lot of wedding guest dress rules are outdated. I have worn both green unlucky and black to weddings and had no negative feedback both marriages still a going after 10+ years . If you are concerned just ask the bride.

Drywhiteplease · 03/03/2015 19:07

If you go for black just accessories in a jaunty Grin fashion....I don't doubt for a second you! oh chic one! would do black dress! black shies! black bag! black hat to a wedding funeral

Drywhiteplease · 03/03/2015 19:08

Bloody !!!!!!!!!!!!!s

Amber knock em dead

OneLittleLady · 03/03/2015 19:22

Good luck Amber

I have been tasked this weekend with helping my Dsis sort her hair extensions out. other than that, I have loads of work to get on with/start this weekend as I've two assignments due in before I go away. they are both sort of half done but need finishing off and refining before hand in. it's a good job I don't party anymore Wink

Ujjayi · 03/03/2015 19:27

Am MNing whilst doing a work out on a static bike (polishes halo but subtract marks for lack of mindfulness & engagement). Trying to distract myself from the aches in my legs & buns!!

Amber good luck for tomorrow. Will read the blog later.

One - I like that red bag. Looks sturdy enough for the job. How's Onecat?

Watching an interview with Wayne Hemingway. Used to love Red or Dead. He is very inspirational not just with design but with attitude.

Ujjayi · 03/03/2015 19:29

Linus my friend wore black to my wedding - she did a reading too so key part of wedding. And I have worn black as a guest too.I think it is very outdated this banning of colours with the exception of white.

shopafrolic · 03/03/2015 19:30

My make up artist friend does Vintage at Goodwood with Wayne Ujjayi - he sounds fab and v inspiring.
