I keep seeing this on different threads and obv they've been around a long time but is it time to call it a day with the skinny jeans and trousers? I love them!

I bought boot cut jeans in Next yesterday so they must be coming back. Next has been skinny mad for so long!

Walking about in them today makes me much happier, skinnies were never for me although I tried to get on board. I love 80s style straight leg but could never find the right pair. Skin tight skinnies everywhere, not a drain pipe to be had.

Remember when boot cut was considered a staple and then couldn't be found anywhere... The same will happen to skinnies!

Floisme · 01/03/2015 18:46

Sorry stupid phone! Was trying to say I'd virtually given up on jeans cos I was so bored with them but now I'm really looking forward to wearing them again.

scarletforya · 01/03/2015 18:52

Hurray! I love flares! They suit me!

Georgethesecond · 01/03/2015 18:58

Pepsi and Shirley!
Sighs happily.

The thing with skinnies is they keep me warm. I like how they cling to the leg and make me feel all snug. And I like jeggings, the look of jeans without the fussiness of button and zip.
Bootcuts don't suit me. I have skinny legs. I'm stocking up on skinnies I think!

WilburIsSomePig · 01/03/2015 20:38

I look hilarious in flares. And not in a good way. Sad

Nah. However, I purchased a pair of Levi's high waisted bootcuts from eBay recently and I love them. I have a whole cupboard full of denim and I adore Uniqlo skinnies.

Floisme · 01/03/2015 20:47

But there are lots of different shapes and sizes with flares. Skinnies either suit you or they don't but with flares, there's much more variety and choice although that does also mean a lot more trying on.

Twinklestein · 01/03/2015 20:50

Skinnies aren't over, they've just become standard.

They only really suit women under a size 12, so I think the new trends are more female friendly.

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 01/03/2015 20:52

sorry sorry sorry

It's my fault. I finally found some that fit my weird shape recently so of course it's time up for them

Judydreamsofhorses · 01/03/2015 20:53

I love skinnies and won't be giving them up any time soon. Last summer I bought "mom jeans" from Topshop and lived in them, but I'm not certain I'll be trying flares this year.

burnishedsilver · 02/03/2015 00:02

I love skinny jeans but I'm sick of them. I'm happy to see some other options coming along as the boyfriend jeans thing was never going to work for me.

JegErEnStorNerd · 02/03/2015 00:09

I'M going to ease in to wider leg trousers gradually starting with slim leg jeans

i wouldn't wear boot cut.

Whippet81 · 02/03/2015 03:43

I love anything that clings around my ankles - I'm 5 foot and although I have fairly long legs I do not long for the days of dragging soggy bootcuts down the road and treading on them. I think they are utterly hideous anyway.

I'm lusting after some tapered boyfriend type things but is it me or do they all look like they have been attacked by a cheese grater? What's with all the rips etc - anyone seen a decent pair with all the material still attached?

PiratePanda · 02/03/2015 09:48

Good. Hate them. I've succumbed to straight leg as a kind of compromise, because boot cut (which make me look awesome) currently seem frumptastic fashion-wise. But boot cut will definitely come back eventually.

80s jeans were just awful - gave everyone big bums.

yumyumpoppycat · 02/03/2015 10:44

A sales girl in new look persuaded me to buy some boot cut as they were coming back in a year or 2 ago, unfortunately the rest of the world didn't get the message and I didn't wear them much as looked a frump. Was she taking the mickey or are they coming back?

burnishedsilver · 02/03/2015 10:48

whippet try Gap Girlfriend jeans.

TheRealMaryMillington · 02/03/2015 10:54

Skinny jeans and jeggings are just going to become ubiquitous, like leggings. Always available, just not "fashionable".

Also the minute mumsnet deems something "over" is the minute the bright young things reclaim them as cool, (as with the mum boot). I

Lucylloyd13 · 02/03/2015 11:50

Skinnys still have a place with me- although as soon as it gets warmer I love getting back into skirts

RonaldMcDonald · 02/03/2015 11:59

skinnies are dead
i cab't wear flares at all though
fs

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 02/03/2015 12:00

Thank goodness flares are coming back - skinny do not suit me at all.

SquareTheCircle · 02/03/2015 12:18

Thank fuck for that. I haven't bought a pair of jeans for over a year and am starting to look like a bag lady. Skinnies look lovely if you have the right shape for them. I don't and I'm not prepared to look like a twat just to make sure I'm 'on trend'.

Nationaltrusthandbook · 02/03/2015 12:27

I'm a size 6 and skinnies are the best thing that ever happened to me fashion wise. I look bloody awful in pretty much everything else. You need good quality ones though i think. I have about 5 or 6 pairs in different shades of erm blue and grey Grin!

Wibblypiglikesbananas · 02/03/2015 12:30

I live in the US and skinnies are still everywhere here. Happily I have some bootcut jeans from TopShop from about ten years ago that I loved, so will keep them in reserve for my next UK trip!

ladymariner · 02/03/2015 13:00

Well, I've just bought some skinny flares and they look lovely, I'm so pleased with how I look in them, which is a first for me as I'm usually hyper-critical of myself....
