QueenC not sure I can do two trips to London in one month (am coming at end of the month to get holiday hair done). Will have to update nearer the time but will likely be no :(

blair I only mentioned the old! new! blue thing as it helped me out in the end as I needed a hair clip and I needed something old, so borrowed my friends one.

When is the hen do m u?

I think I wore pearl studs, I think my mum said this wasn't really what you should do, unlucky maybe...

LinusDKD · 23/02/2015 21:21

How about this bracelet blair

LinusDKD · 23/02/2015 21:23

Or this

I like the sentiment described on the card

Karbea · 23/02/2015 21:23

Talking of jewellery my dh found this lady the other day (he got me a necklace (in silver - which he is swapping to gold) for valentines day).
Nothing for blair unless she fancies these although they might give her parents/in laws a heart attack ;)

QueenCardigan · 23/02/2015 21:25

blair is the mv the same? It's 60 cheaper.

QueenCardigan · 23/02/2015 21:26

karbea March 14.

LinusDKD · 23/02/2015 21:29

I know it's over budget but I think this is perfect for a wedding day

And you can wear it afterwards stacked with other bracelets

Karbea · 23/02/2015 21:30

Is there anything here?

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 23/02/2015 21:31

Lol Karbea they are quite something Grin

It's a good point about borrowing and old, although I definitely don't have anything blue at the moment.

The MU is Sat 14th March.

Linus I think they are a bit delicate for me, I don't like the feel of bracelets sliding up and down my wrist (usually wear stretchy ones).

QueenCardigan · 23/02/2015 21:32

a bit like the mv one

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 23/02/2015 21:33

QueenC that one has cord instead of chain, I thought it was a bit too casual.

Linus that one is so pretty, I could make an exception on the slidey thing!

Karbea will look... :)

bettykt · 23/02/2015 21:36

Blair The Monica Vinader link bracelet is lovely as are Dry's earrings.

QueenC I can't make it either. Sad

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 23/02/2015 21:40

I think Linus's link of the MV Riva bracelet is my favourite so far...

The one QueenC linked is similar but not adjustable so it would be slidey.

OneLittleLady · 23/02/2015 22:08

I can't make the hen do/MU, I've too much work to do and it's a bit close to my holiday date Sad

I only got an hours sleep last night and I feel like I should be utterly wiped out by now but still going strong. I'm almost tempted to ask for sedatives at this point as it's been going on so long now but i'm so loathe to take any extra medication

LinusDKD · 24/02/2015 07:09

Morning!

Oh one I can understand you don't want to take any more medication but maybe you should consider it as a temporary measure, just to help you over this period of insomnia.

I suffered badly from insomnia when I was a student and at one point it was so bad it really affected the rest of my life. So I went to the student dr who prescribed me some mild sleeping pills and they helped me get back into a healthy sleeping rythm.

I actually think they were rohypnol (I'm not sure anymore) and they just helped me to fall asleep, I didn't feel groggy in the morning and they were non addictive.

sleep happy to hear you had a good time! Shame about the stress of getting there though. You could have had a stopover at 'Auberge Linus' Wink

LinusDKD · 24/02/2015 07:15

Actually one it was Zolpidem (brand name Stilnoct in my home country) that I was prescribed.

I think they also give it to people who can't sleep in hospitals.

Ujjayi · 24/02/2015 10:09

I have such a serious bracelet addiction that I daren't open any of those links although I did peek at the Monica Vinader ones

Blair I have begun to have second thoughts on the bracelet. Looking at the beading detail on your dress, I would be concerned that it might easily get caught up in any jewellery on your wrists. On reflection, I would style that dress with simple earrings only - something like a small tear drop style or even just a stud would look extremely elegant, particularly with your hair swept up. Agree that borrowing from someone or looking in a local vintage/antique store would be a lovely way to incorporate something old/borrowed etc.

One insomnia is horrendous and although you are resistant to further meds, I really agree with Linus. It may take just one decent night's sleep to get you back into a good sleep pattern again. You could also explore the aromatherapy option again - look for an IFPA qualified therapist in your area. They will have proper clinical training so that they will know which oils are likely to interact with any meds you are taking. You should be treated with a "low dose" oil blend anyway - no more than 1% (a trained therapist will know what I mean: a standard blend is 2.5% but people weakened with chronic conditions are better treated at a lower rate). It sounds flippant but relaxation is the key to both insomnia and pain management so I really believe it could help you with both.

The delivery saga continues. Suffice to say, there is much passing of the buck and the courier company seem keen to focus on late delivery rather than inappropriate behaviour. Trying to immerse myself in design work rather than have this crap going round & round in my head and being paranoid every time the doorbell rings.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 24/02/2015 10:57

Ugh Ujjayi that sounds rubbish re the delivery company. Can you take it to the top - find the person in charge's email address and go direct to them, explaining that you're not having any luck with the usual channels? That's worked for me in the past... is it here?

That's interesting about the bracelet and I love the idea of vintage earrings. The model on the website only has earrings on. I think I'd be more likely to wear sparkly earrings again too - I used to get really sore ears whenever I wore anything in them, but as I've got older that's gone away luckily.

Oh One I hope you are ok, it sounds horrid. I don't have any advice but really hoping you find something that helps. It will be interesting to see what happens when you're away - jet lag on one hand, but you should also be more relaxed Flowers

Ujjayi · 24/02/2015 11:39

Blair thank you for that link. I have managed to find the contact details of the CEO from it so that was invaluable thanks again. I'll see what the company's next response is to email from this morning. If they are still ignoring the harassment then I will contact CEO. Who just happens to be a woman...!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 24/02/2015 11:39

Has anyone seen this new site Very Exclusive? Was thinking it seemed like the new my-wardrobe, then read that it's been set up by someone who used to be there.

It looks promising but personally I hate websites that don't change the view of the item when you mouse over it Blush

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 24/02/2015 11:47

Oh well that might be a good thing then Ujj! Fingers crossed for you x

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 24/02/2015 11:51

Lovely autumnal work dress

QueenCardigan · 24/02/2015 11:53

blair I think I read about that website and I think it is set up by the founders of my wardobe. My concern is that it allows you to get into debt. They see their selling point as being the only high end/designer site that gives you credit. I personally worry that too many people will order too much from it and not be able to pay it back.

ujayyi that's shocking customer service. As far as I'm concerned your contract is with topshop as that's who you have paid for delivery. It's surely up to them to sort out with the delivery company why delivery hasn't taken place. And I hope that they've refunded your delivery charges.

maradesbois · 24/02/2015 12:45

Blair I agree that simple drop earrings would look lovely with your dress. Less is more etc. Loved the shape of the pearl ones you wore for last mu, something similar but more delicate maybe?

Love this dvf dress but can't do animal print. Think it would look fab on Betty though.
