Oh dear, I've loads to catch up on. I was busy yesterday clearing out the hallway and living room for the builder.
Dh has decided we should change the drapes, so now I need to pick some curtain fabric before the builder starts painting... Clock ticking... I'm still a bit errr about it as I know we will need to replace them if they get too dusty after the bigger build later in the year.
Anyone seen any nice fabric for curtains, modern country style??? I'm going to have to go and sit in the interior design shop and work my way through fabric books this afternoon...

Drywhiteplease · 16/02/2015 09:21

novice you can have a laugh at my day......sea side trip for fish and chips in the rain, can't wait ! What to wear? Think a yellow plastic poncho with hood, or even better a transparent one so you can see my outfit underneath, might be in order and a stiff drink when I get home Grin at this point you've got to laugh.

QueenCardigan · 16/02/2015 09:46

Oh novice don't feel too bad. At least it's fun for them and not frightening.
dry sounds fun!
karbea I just tend to go to John Lewis lazy

I may or may not be around this week. I haven't decided yet whether I'm going to take an Internet break whilst away. Take your bets whether I'll be back on here later today Grin

Fedupnagging · 16/02/2015 09:53

What a miserable Monday morning.

Shop sounds like you had a fab day yesterday. I love Brighton but haven't been for about 5yrs.

Flowers for you Novice. Try not to feel too bad - you work so hard to provide a fabulous life for your children and sometimes when things go a little wrong it's good for them to see that shit happens. Obviously don't couch it in those terms to the dc's Grin

Dry Wine for you, Chardonnay goes really well with fish and chips! Try to enjoy your day.

Karbea I always find my eyes sting if I spend too long looking at fabrics - weird. Anyway, grab a coffee and enjoy your afternoon. Although, it does sound like it may be worth waiting until all the work is done?

Need to motivate myself today - have loads to do - restock the junkfood fridge, walk the dog, clean the fridge.

Karbea · 16/02/2015 09:57

fedup yes I know, ideally we'd wait but my house is full of half finished jobs as we keep putting off doing things because of the bigger job. The extension is at the other end of the house so maybe not so bad, and I can always take the curtains down...

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 16/02/2015 09:58

Hi all :)

novice don't beat yourself up, as you said you never miss anything important, so this is the first time and it's just once.

Karbea I need to replace all our curtains so can't help. We were about to buy shutters for our living room last year but bought an engagement ring instead Grin

QueenC I don't have any great ideas for MU, I don't go out in London often enough really. Re attendees, shall we start a list to copy and paste?

Hugs Novice. It can't be helped but i know that Sad you get from the DC when you are heading out the door - it's horrible.

OneLittleLady · 16/02/2015 12:34

Pain clinic appointment has come! Cannot believe how quickly it's happened since it was only just over a week ago I asked to be referred on! Here's hoping they can help me, even if only a little bit

Novice I'm sure DC will be fine but I understand why you feel so rotten about it. You shouldn't though, it's a one off and wasn't an intentional thing, it was a daft mistake writing dates down. Don't beat yourself up over it Thanks Thanks

Yes, please Dry , good that you are retaining your sense of humour.

Karbea we also have a house of jobs waiting on other jobs, so nothing gets done.

Novice try not to feel too bad. I bet they will enjoy it anyway and you have done well to make it such fun for them, so they look forward to it.

Am at my DP's and it is going well so far, though I will have to do an emergency shop for fresh veg later (veg is treated as an optional garnish here). I do worry about their diet!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 16/02/2015 13:16

That's good news One, hope it goes well. I keep meaning to say by the way, your cute animals pinboard is amazing and never fails to put a smile on my face!

Yay topaz will be lovely to see you again.

QueenC pm. :)

OneLittleLady · 16/02/2015 16:36

thansk blair I really hoping the can offer me, well, some hope I guess. I'm finding it a struggle just to do normal day to day stuff atm, never mind turning up for lectures and stuff. by the end of the week, i'm utterly wiped out so do nothing all weekend as I have no energy. Haha, lots of people seem to love that board, it has a lot of followers, I just love cute animals and birds and stuff, especially bears and polar bears the most. I might start a separate board just for bears!

shopafrolic · 16/02/2015 16:54

Eeurgh - I've been in bed all day feeling as though I've got flu - really shaky.
Hugs for you Novice - you are an awesome mum - don't give yourself a hard time.
The flares have arrived. Need to try them when I look a damn sight better than I do now but first try opinion is that they look good. Finally I have found the perfect length jean Grin. I need to see the colour in better light (it might not be as dark as I'd like but it's so gloomy here today it's hard to tell). I'm also wondering how much they give as they are the perfect fit now but if they stretch they will be too big.......
I'm going to have to be a maybe for the 14th as I need to come to London again on the 28th and I'm not sure I can do both.....

novice you ok?

OneLittleLady · 16/02/2015 18:28

hope you feel better soon Shop Thanks

Dry Grin

LinusDKD · 16/02/2015 18:40

Oh no shop! I really hope you don't get what I had!

My Asos MiH flares still haven't arrived yet. Sad

one such good news, I really hope they will help you manage your pain better.

novice I'm sure your DC will have forgotten by now. And tell me, how do you make the dentist a 'fun experience'? I haven't taken mine to the dentist yet but their peadiatrician always has a look at their teeth when they go for their check-up.

It's going to be another early night for me as I'm shattered. I don't sleep well as I keep coughing and now I've got a stinking headache as well.

And still no alcohol! Shock!

Karbea · 16/02/2015 18:49

Evening ladies!

linus that's not good about the asos order they are normally quick! I missed my outnet delivery :(
one fingers crossed you'll have some relief soon.
shop wish you better!

Karbea · 16/02/2015 18:51

Here are some fabrics for you to critique.

1 - emporium

Karbea · 16/02/2015 19:03

2 - Global luxe.

Karbea · 16/02/2015 19:04

3 - Fairmont.

Karbea · 16/02/2015 19:09

Only things staying in the room are a dog bed in this colour (ours is the balmoral).

Karbea · 16/02/2015 19:12

A creamy coloured stone fireplace, and two cupboards very similar to this, which will be either side of the fireplace.

I will need two curtains, one large window and one large french doors, plus a smaller window which will have a roman blind.

MarshaBrady · 16/02/2015 19:29

Hello lovely people. I am out out on a Monday.

Yes I'd love to join on for mu. Can we go somewhere economical? Grin the places we've been have been excellent so far for vibe etc

Karbea · 16/02/2015 21:08

I think we are going to go with the emporium fabric in moleskin, although I need to try it against the dog bed. ;)
Then I need to work out a paint colour again...

Drywhiteplease · 16/02/2015 21:27

karbea I was going to say the emporium is my fav as I love a bit of Devore for added depth. That must be the poshest dog bed I've ever seen Shock

Karbea · 16/02/2015 21:52

It belongs to the most spoilt dogs in the world! but only the cat uses it
