Thanks Linus and QueenC! I have been to Ibiza, so didn't think of that, but will suggest it. I think Sardinia and Capri might not be warm enough, not sure. Greek islands is a good idea.

Because we had a shortish engagement we haven't had time to plan or save for a proper honeymoon, which we're hoping to do later this year in Asia. This is just to get away for a few days after the wedding :) Mauritius sounds amazing but I think somewhere like that would too far for us to go when we're not really into beaches or (eg) diving.

maradesbois · 31/01/2015 20:31

Evening,

So, so cold here, am snuggled under my cashmere blanket on sofa with ds watching boj (voiced by Jason Donovan!). Letting him stay up late as dh is on way home from the airport and desperate for cuddles. Would love a heartwarming bowl of Shop's ratatouille or Marsha's lasagne right now Smile.

Blair lake como won't be sunbathing warm mid-April plus everything closes up for winter and not sure about re opening times. We have stayed twice at the villa d'este, it is absolutely gorgeous but tbh you could have a week in the Caribbean for the price. Maybe southern Spain or Sicily? I would love to go to Morocco but so with you on avoiding Dubai.

Karbea · 31/01/2015 20:38

I think the Greek Islands are definitely worth considering, we've been to Crete a few times and that's lovely.

Karbea · 31/01/2015 20:39

I'm definitely going to ask you ladies to suggest hotels next time we go away, how funny that we've all stayed in the same places.

shopafrolic · 31/01/2015 20:39

Mara I have leftovers. :) It was actually good served with salmon.

LinusDKD · 31/01/2015 20:58

mara I didn't know that about Boj. Next time the DC watch it I'll try and spot J. Donovan.

I think it's funny that the characters sound like my DSis's DC, it really reminds me of then.

santamarianovella · 31/01/2015 21:23

I'll add my voice to mara and say avoid Dubai, but morocco is gorgeous, Grin, though I've never been,

blair, we got married in April too, and we didnt go away on a honeymoon ,we went for a few days to Scotland, and then we went on a proper honeymooning in late June ,first Sicily we did toarmina and dh has never been there,i was his giude, we had an amazing time, would love to go there again, and then we went to to south of France for a couple of weeks.

I think Crete is your best bet for April though,

shopafrolic · 31/01/2015 21:34

Another April wedding here. We did 3 nights in a fab hotel in Brighton and then headed to the Amalfi Coast and Ischia in Sept.

santamarianovella · 31/01/2015 21:38

Just ignore the typos! Had a hellish afternoon,

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 31/01/2015 21:44

santa I was looking at Taormina, it looks gorgeous! Do you think it wouldn't be warm enough in April? Will look at Crete too.

shop that sounds fab, I also looked at the Amalfi Coast but again wanted to be as far south as possible really. We love Italy.

AmberNectarine · 31/01/2015 21:59

I still haven't been on honeymoon even though we'll be celebrating our 5th anniversary this year! We had baby DS when we got married so thought we'd wait a few months but then I went and got knocked up with DD (aka the worlds most clingy child) and somehow it never happened. One day we'll get around to it, I'm sure!

muddlingalongquitenicely · 31/01/2015 23:33

Spent our honeymoon on the quieter side of Ibiza (a long time a go) but would love to go back to kefalonia fell in love with the place and not had a chance to go back. Loved Minorca as well we were out the way on the quieter side of the island for that holiday as well lol

Drywhiteplease · 31/01/2015 23:52

My feet are freezing! Roughing it out with no socks Shock
FAB blue shoes QueenC
We went to Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard.....I would second Greek Islands, beautiful .

Drywhiteplease · 31/01/2015 23:57

"Toughing"!!

cartoontrickster · 01/02/2015 01:17

just in from a masquerade ball with dh (we hardly ever go out together since we had Ds) wore a black satin and chiffon strapless dress I've had for over ten years!Shock so I think the oldest clothing item I own! with a white fur coat and black sparkly heels from Sara which were actually really comfy.

Stokey · 01/02/2015 07:02

Morning, Puglia is lovely Blair, right at the heel of Italy. Lecce is a beautiful baroque city. Or Andalucia? We went in September on honeymoon and went to Granada - Alhambra is very romantic - and then went down to Cabo de Gata in Almeria which is full of stunning beaches and no high rises. Or the white villages around Rhonda and Gaucin are also lovely and should be warming up at that time of year.

Fedupnagging · 01/02/2015 07:34

Morning, have been awake for ages and trying not to be grumpy about it!

We went to Paris for our honeymoon - dh's choice. It was lovely.

How about Sardinia Blair. I have never been but a friend has a few times and says it's lovely.

As it's 1st Feb, normal spending can resume. Bought these pumps. Exciting huh?! But, they are also my first holiday purchase so am feeling pleased.

Fedupnagging · 01/02/2015 09:33

Very quiet on here this morning. are you all hungover?

This is me!

This top might fit the bill although is cream not white. And not as £££ as the outnet top i liked.

muddlingalongquitenicely · 01/02/2015 09:43

Morning!
I was doing a bit of housework before i started to read here and surf the internet otherwise nothing would get done.
Wearing my new victoria secret jumper which im going to have to photograph and add to pin as i cant find it anywhere

Drywhiteplease · 01/02/2015 09:53

I'm here.....dressed Shock and have made butternut squash green Thai soup , an incentive to get back from kettle torture session at gym ........

Drywhiteplease · 01/02/2015 09:53

That sounds wierd

QueenCardigan · 01/02/2015 10:07

Not hungover but feeling rough. Dd has a bad cough/cold and has been up half the night. I've woken up with it too. We both sound like we have a 60 a day habit.

Just been reading ST style and the article about the supermodels. Shocking really that they were allowed to get away with such behaviour.

fedup I love the fact that by 7.30 you've already spent! So much for my not buying much this year. In January I bought a dress, a coat, 2 tops and a bag Grin. I will try really hard now to save my pennies for London although I've seen some navy boots that I love. will I never learn that navy boots just look rubbish on me but it's like an addiction trying to find that one elusive pair that don't.

Our honeymoon was New Zealand and a Malaysian island. Possibly too far for 5 days.

Fedupnagging · 01/02/2015 10:08

Flowers Lib it's lovely. Pm.

shopafrolic · 01/02/2015 10:13

Morning all
Step away from the navy boots QueenC Grin

shopafrolic · 01/02/2015 10:13

Watching the tennis so you won't get much out of me for now :)
