evening all

Presentation seemed to go weel, at least I think it did anyway. I did have a panic towards the end but I got through it. Hopefully my lucky pants will mean I've passed!

Good haul karbea hope at least some of them are right for you

I've been wearing my hat bought at camden market round campus, its been getting a lot of attention and one of the youngsters asked if I thought I was the queen! cheeky so and so Grin

maradesbois · 10/02/2015 21:43

Hello,

Think I'm the only one amongst us that liked VB's trousers. Tbf I saw the pic just after a Kim K shocker of boobs bursting out of a cropped white vest paired with camouflage pants.

One glad it seemed to go well, am sure the lucky pants came good for you!

Karbea am following you on pin now. That was a big Outnet order! Love the cashmere & MO bikini.

Blair congrats on MrW's promotion, in good time for the honeymoon fund Smile.

QueenC I didn't like those shoes either due to general clunkiness but they did remind me of a red or dead platform pair that I had when about 14 and thought I was the coolest person on the planet as I tottered precariously about our small town. Agree you would look fab in leather skinnies but maybe not your style.

Dry well done you working your inner Alicia.

I'm off to Paris soon and will hopefully get an afternoon to myself for shopping. Would love to get ballet flats and a blazer for spring plus a new bag, maybe Goyard St Louis tote in grey. Would love the white one but probably not a good idea.

libertychick · 11/02/2015 08:26

White tote sounds like a receive for disaster Mara

dry so glad the leather skinnies worked out. You will look amazing in them.

QueenC you should try some. I am going to keep my eyes peeled in TKMaxx Smile.

Looking forward to hearing what you keep from the outnet order karbea.

Raoul dress is going back. Totally the wrong shape for me. Too big on top half and too tight on hips. I'm not going to order the bigger size in the Tory Burch. I need work clothes.

Hope everyone has a good day Smile

What has Uma Thurman done to herself? :(
I met her once, she was so naturally beautiful. surely this is surgery not just no eye makeup?

MarshaBrady · 11/02/2015 09:52

oh my word, her face looks so different.

santamarianovella · 11/02/2015 11:20

Oh No! One eye looks smaller than the other! She was a beauty,

libertychick · 11/02/2015 11:34

I think her eye is doing what mine does Blush. She has hooded eyes and as you get older the hooding increases and your eyebrows ride up to 'pull' the excess skin off the eye. In photos I often look like one eyebrow is higher than the other. They do botox above the eye to stop this but then it can mean the eyelid droops making the eye look smaller - her next bit of surgery will probably be getting the excess skin removed, which is what Renee Z did.

OP posts:
maradesbois · 11/02/2015 12:09

That's interesting Lib. What a shame though, her hooded eyes were part of her beauty. She was my style inspiration at the time of Pulp Fiction, the perfect fitted white shirt as a 'going out' outfit.

santamarianovella · 11/02/2015 12:35

lib a relative of my mum is a cosmetic dermatologist and works with a plastic surgeon,,when my mum asked him about fixing her hooded eyelids, he told her the best way is surgery, Botox can cause more damage than good ,but with surgery you fix the problem Precisely

, now I know people were shocked with renee ,but honestly she looks much better,

But with uma, it looks like an overload of Botox and fillers, her face looks puffy too,

santamarianovella · 11/02/2015 12:40

linus hope you are feeling better .

libertychick · 11/02/2015 12:48

I agree santa, I thought Renee's eyes looked better. Hooded eyes look very attractive when you are younger but when they start to bag and the skin gets loose it's not so good and it can interfere with your eyesight and contribute to tension headaches as the muscles in your forehead are tensed all the time trying to drag the eye open. I have looked into it and the botox option just seems a waste of time. I think I am likely to get surgery done at some stage, my eyes are ok now but I don't want them to look my Dad's!!

I'm a grumpy cow today Grin. I seem to have post menstrual tension!

For those of you urging me to do leather, it ain't gonna happen! I admire those if you that can wear it and look cool but it's not for me.

No fashion news from me. Feeling fat and ugly today ( blame the hormones!). karbea I've finally caught up on your purchases and I love the yellow top especially.

Drywhiteplease · 11/02/2015 16:59

Never say never QueenC Wink......I am a bit fashion u turner!!!!!

Ordered these today to replace my silver sling back flats from Boden last year which crippled me going on Ebay

So, my no spending year is going so so. I'm allowing myself "one" item a month but these are my March purchase!!!

January: white shirt and navy striped jumper with red heart elbows from Asos
feb: leather skinnies
March: silver flats

May get to December by April Shock

I also "need" proper pony hair animal print flats, the AOS slippers from last year are looking worn and are printed suede which I don't like as much.

MarshaBrady · 11/02/2015 17:59

I was just pinning some stuff and had a vogue question has come to fruition. Better than work right? Grin

Who are your top models? Or model

Kate Moss - young, Depp years
Amber Valetta
Natasha Poly
and a bit off piste Kim Noorda

MarshaBrady · 11/02/2015 18:08

You are doing well Dry I haven't bought anything for ages, hence random questions.

MarshaBrady · 11/02/2015 18:10

Lib makes sense.

Mara green at Paris, sounds lovely.

QueenCardigan · 11/02/2015 18:11

dry sounds as successful as my no spend till March!

marsha kate for me obviously. Also love Yasmin le Bon and think she's beautiful. Remember seeing her on the front of a magazine many many years ago and loving her. Also think that Christy Turlington is beautiful. Im not sure that I know any of the newer ones that well.

MarshaBrady · 11/02/2015 18:20

QueenC meant to say I'm the same with leather. Good pics

MarshaBrady · 11/02/2015 18:21

Picks!

Blush
Ujjayi · 11/02/2015 18:26

QueenC - you have my sympathy. Am also feeling hormonally tense Confused. Hate it - it's like this uncontrollable stream of vileness which wants to be let loose.

Mara - I'm also jealous of Paris & agree that white isn't the most practical of choices. Having said that, I'm currently craving the Topshop fringed suede tote in baby blue...

Dry - I have some silver flat sling backs from Next which also crushed my feet & constantly fall off the back of my heel. I couldn't get the Boden or Massimo Dutti versions on my feet. Perhaps I should also sell on eBay.
Speaking of which...am considering selling my IM trousers. I cannot make them work & have only worn them once ...for 3 hours! Is Vestiare better than eBay? I've browsed but not looked at specifics of the site.

Back to hand sewing a hem...2 hours worth left to do Shock. It is always at this point that I hate what I've made & want to bin it Grin

Ujjayi · 11/02/2015 18:28

Forgot Marsha's question:

Helena Christiansen or Kate. Also love Erin O'Connor.

QueenCardigan · 11/02/2015 18:31

Forgot Helena. She's beautiful too.

Fedupnagging · 11/02/2015 18:32

Oh dear Queen, maybe Wine will help.

Another one here not wearing leather- tried a few pairs, real and pleather but wasn't keen so will save my money.

Grin at your one item a month Dry. My boden sling backs are going on ebay too - not comfortable at all. I think if you are slim of foot, they will be fine.

Going back to the flares convo of last week, this might help with the styling!

So far in Feb I have bought:
Denim and supply knit
Blue superga's
2 sets of underwear - M&S limited collection.

No spend Jan was Boden crop ankle zip jeans (love) and a navy cropped cardigan. Am just waiting for another decent discount code then will look seriously at their Bretons and t shirts which I usually find hard wearing.

I loved Uma Thurmans look in Pulp Fiction. So cool.

maradesbois · 11/02/2015 18:39

Marsha Erin O' Connor & Edie Campbell.

Thanks re Paris. Think I was getting a bit carried away about shopping ideas though. Am not going to go out and buy a goyard bag just like that but maybe as a birthday gift from dh. Would like to come back with one nice item though, haven't bought anything except 1 pair of jeans since before Christmas.

Ujjayi have never used Vestiaire Collective but think it's completely legit and would use them to sell. Don't really get it as a buyer though, the prices are not very interesting.

QueenCardigan · 11/02/2015 18:46

I'm planning on opening a bottle once I've done the beaver pick up fedup!

Just been trying to find Yasmin's magazine cover but can't. I'm thinkng it was something like she or new woman mag. I remember her talking about wearing alaia. It was definitely 80s or very early 9os as I was still at home.

fedup that's my problem with flares that I'm scared to look like I've just walked out of the 00s! I think summer will be easier to style them with sandals although I don't plan on buying any wedges/heels so maybe not.
