Morning all.
So now that I have the right size this dress is a keeper for holiday. Very easy, twisted seams and distressed edges. V pleased.
John Lewis striped top is also a keeper. Good quality for the price and nice long sleeves. I sized up to get a bit of slouch. SusieSoSo wouldn't like it though as the stripes don't match up perfectly at the seams but I can live with it for the ££.

Happy Monday Smile. I am the Queen of Procrastination today having done zero work and yet seemingly been v v busy all morning Hmm

So much to catch up on from you bunch of prolific posters! Some great links as always but I think QueenC wins the Link of the Weekend award with that Valentino suede skirt. It is truly a thing of beauty.

Blair - you are a very generous bride. That dress is beautiful and I agree with others that simple earrings only are the way forward.

Shop - is the JL Breton a decent length in the body too? Sorry to hear about your DF. Hope you enjoyed your meal together yesterday.

Marsha - Rabbit Proof Fence is an amazing movie. I have a thing for movies about personal struggles. Sobbed my way through The Imitation Game & The Theory of Everything for that reason.

One 2 swimsuits and a tankini sound fine for 2 weeks. I am the queen of overpacking though and take around 7 bikinis for 2 weeks. I am slightly obsessed with swimwear.

BAFTA fashion was a bit "meh" IMO. Julianne Moore usually looks stunning but that neckline was more TOWIE than Hollywood glam. And I thought Reese Witherspoon looked a bit matronly with the neckline of her dress - although the colour was stunning. Keira looked as though she'd been dressed by a first year fashion student or Gok Wan gone a bit crazy with the Pritt Stick in the haberdashery again...

Grammy style here I was thinking Rihanna looked rather couture until I heard Fearne Cotton remark that she resembled a loo-roll cover from your nan's house Grin

shopafrolic · 09/02/2015 11:39

Ujjayi yup. Reasonable length in the body too. Happy to measure if you want? I usually wear a 12 but bought a 14.

shopafrolic · 09/02/2015 11:41

Oh Madonna needs to just stop now

libertychick · 09/02/2015 11:46

Thanks for Grammy's link ujjayi. Has kept me amused on the train.

Thumbs up...
Peter Nemecova - classy and funky
Gwen Stefani - rocks her Versace jumpsuit
Jennifer Hudson - stunning in white
Anna Kendrick - shop take note! You could so do that tux

Thumbs down....
Gwyneth - red glitter dress is awful
Kelly Osbourne - terrible dress, totally overpowers her
Madonna - trying WAY too hard and starting to channel Cher.

I quite like Rihanna's dress but Grin at loo roll!

Love Anna K. Loved the tux. And Gwen. Stunning as always.

maradesbois · 09/02/2015 13:16

Hello,

Thanks for red carpet links. I really liked Reese W in Stella dress. There's one pic where you see movement and it's lovely. Love her & would imagine she's a nice person irl as well. This 9 kisses project is really good and she gets to snog Benedict Envy.

Agree Madonna enough said!

Shop glad your holiday wardrobe is coming together.

Blair completely agree with others about no need for necklace for your bridesmaids. The waist embellishment does the jewellery job splendidly Smile.

maradesbois · 09/02/2015 13:17

Don't know where that picture came from, strange.

Ujjayi · 09/02/2015 13:43

Shop - yes please to length measurement of JL breton.

Lib - Am in absolute agreement on your Grammy's style assessment Grin. Madonna was always so groundbreaking & yet now it all seems try hard. Would love to see her return to her gorgeous Gaultier tux outfits circa Vogue/Blonde Ambition era.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 09/02/2015 16:14

Hello all :) just had some good news, mrW has had a payrise and will be getting a yearly (performance-related) bonus from now on - yay!

Ujjayi my mum is paying (mostly) for the wedding so I can't take credit for the dresses, except that I chose them!

We watched the Imitation Game at the weekend, I thought BC was amazing in it. Very very sad though.

Fedupnagging · 09/02/2015 17:34

Have had the mother of busy days today - going to work tomorrow for a rest!

Blair gorgeous dresses and definitely just earrings. Well done to Mrw too.

Shop love the dress you linked- perfect for holiday. It goes without saying that I love the Breton too. Am currently eying up one in me&em and the ones in boden.

Not had a chance to look at the Grammys/bafta fashion but will hopefully get a chance later this evening.

Drywhiteplease · 09/02/2015 17:39

Grammy dresses have left me cold tbh.....there's nothing stunning, it's all been done. What the heck has Courtney Cox done to her face? Agree about Madge....desperate, even Lady GA GA looked classier.

Well, overdose of T Good Wife is affecting me....I asked for a pay rise today!!!!!! Shock......I channelled Ujj (or was it Karbea) from Friday night and was calmly assertive.

liberty had a look round H and M today, lots of mustards, brick reds, greens if you need bits.

Drywhiteplease · 09/02/2015 18:10

love this bet linus will too

AmberNectarine · 09/02/2015 18:34

dry posted the leggings today, first class so you should get them tomorrow hopefully!

No real news - bought this top which I think will be a useful basic - hoping it will work with a Sportmax skirt I bought in December but haven't worn yet.

Drywhiteplease · 09/02/2015 18:50

Exciting Amber thanks so much, can't wait to try them.
Great top, love that style. Tempted.

Karbea · 09/02/2015 18:57

Hello, I'm back from westfield!

My mini haul consists of (all but one pin'd):

  • Canary yellow Michael Michael kors top
  • Ivory lace Maje top
  • animal print Kooples blouse
  • olive slacks h&m not pin'd
  • faux leather brown leggings from h&m

I really liked a jumper from River Island but it was khaki and I was really worried at one point I'd only by green things, so made a real effort not to. I might order it online tonight.
I've no idea what I'm going to wear on my feet... Suggestions welcome...

shopafrolic · 09/02/2015 19:05

Top of shoulder to bottom of the Breton is 62cm. 41cm from underarm to base.

Karbea · 09/02/2015 19:07

This is the river island top.

shopafrolic · 09/02/2015 19:36

Impressive haul Karbea - I like that river island top. Would go well with the faux leggings non?

shopafrolic · 09/02/2015 19:40

Karbea can you link a Pin? I'm not sure if I'm following you....

Karbea · 09/02/2015 20:04

Shop

Fedupnagging · 09/02/2015 20:04

Karbea really glad you had such a successful shopping trip today - sounds like a great start to,rebuilding your wardrobe. Could you link to pin please so I can see your haul.

Did you get your pay rise Dry? Hope so.

I managed to burn myself whilst making dinner - arm is now very sore and coming up in blisters - will add the scars to the collection!

Drywhiteplease · 09/02/2015 20:08
