Morning!

How about Reese Witherspoon, she's quite petite and curvy?

I actually like her style (red carpet and IRL) even though her colouring is completely different from hers.

Hope those jumpers are what you're looking for dry, they look perfect.

Wearing my light grey Asos merino jumper (with heattech underneath) black Leigh skinnies, biker boots, burberry mac and teal cashmere scarf today as I have to go into town and the weather is foul.

maradesbois · 16/01/2015 09:19

Morning,

Cranagh thanks anyway for the parka heads up. Tbh if I'd been really convinced think I would have bought it before the additional discount though. Holding out for the arctic parka now! Also love the jumper you linked for Dry, looks just like the one she posted.

Muddling when I saw your post about petite & buxom could only think of Barbara Windsor! Possibly not your style inspiration but Salma Hayek sounds more like

QueenCardigan · 16/01/2015 10:28

critics choice awards dresses. Not really sure about any of them.

QueenCardigan · 16/01/2015 10:36

lib and karbea not sure if you're after belts but gap have an orange and yellow one which may be right for you? Still no discount code though. Grr.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 16/01/2015 10:49

Morning all

Fingers crossed on the jumper Dry, it looks like it could be the one.

Love the colour of that belt.

I'm thinking of ordering a necklace from the US, it's available at Nordstrom, Saks and Bloomingdales. Anyone have any experience of the service from any of these? I'm guessing they will be much of a muchness. I've only ordered from Shopbop before and it's sold out there.

Karbea · 16/01/2015 11:01

linus I like Reece's style as well. I'm heading into London toad for lunch with a friend and my highlights!
I've my new shirt and blue j brand jeans on, not sure whether to go brown leather jacket or my big prada puffa, it looks cold out!
I might get some of those heat tech tops today. Must remember to take my swatch wallet.
queen that belt is a gorgeous colour. Are we due a discount code soon?
Oitnet have an extra 40% off some coats and boots! great saving but couldn't see anything for me.

Karbea · 16/01/2015 11:03

blair I've definitely ordered from Nordstrom and I think Bloomingdales. I think a lot of the US companies now use a company to do their shipping, and I've found their service pretty good, no issues and no surprise tax, which always used to catch me!!!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 16/01/2015 11:07

Yes, they all use Borderfree, same as Jcrew. I have had good service from Nordstrom in the past when I had to return some shoes from the UK that I bought from one of their stores - maybe I'll go with them if I decide to get it.

Will check out Outnet!

LinusDKD · 16/01/2015 12:32

Really like Borderfree, fast and efficient. (Listen up Gap!!!)

Back from town with a new haircut! It was a bit of last minute decision to have a haircut but I needed one badly and I decided to try out a new salon.

I am happy with the result but the proof will be when I wash and style it myself. It was £££ though, £100 for a cut and blowdry. (Thank God I don't colour my hair otherwise it would have been a lot more) Shock

I went into Fendi to have a look at a Peekaboo bag DM has her heart set on and it was nice but not really my style. They were very friendly in the shop and even let me take a few pictures so I'll send them to her to see what she thinks.

BrandyAlexander · 16/01/2015 13:13

Morning!

Thanks to QueenC. You are very welcome.Smile

It's been a tough week so TGIF. I got told by optician yesterday that ds has astigmatism. I was told they don't normally do eye tests for under 5s without a good reason. My reasoning was that I taught dd to read at 3 and that ds is struggling. I can see differences that aren't down to sex or personality and he's clearly bright. Apparently that observation wasn't a good enough reason.Hmm Thank goodness I don't take any shit from anyone. They may now be a bit scared of me

I have been super blinging it this week. I am currently wearing my 6ct tanzanite ring surrounded by 2ct of diamonds with a 7ct bracelet......And the 50p necklace that dd gave me as a Christmas present.Grin

Who asked for fellow shorties? Eva L, the Kardashians, jada pinkett smith, mila kunis, lady gaga, Vanessa hudgens, shakira, and Megan fox are all 5'2" and under with boobs. Having said that I am not sure I find any of them particularly inspiring as they all live such a different lifestyle to me!

OneLittleLady · 16/01/2015 13:16

novice i can't believe they tried to talk you out of having ds get an eye test. any noticeable difference in sight is reason enough for a test. good job you are tough and didn't back down. is the astigmatism bad? i have it in both eyes as well as being short sighted and having it corrected makes a huge huge difference to how well i can see

santamarianovella · 16/01/2015 13:37

Although its so popular right now, I'm not a fan of fendi bags too linus Blush, ever since I put my name down on the wait list for spy bag ,And they had a long awaiting list, ,and then while everyone was still on the wait list,it fell off the fashion wagon, and poof! disappeared into thin air, just like those LV multi colour Murakami , does anyone remember those? They were considered LV greatest and most defining moment, but then they looked so dated within one season,

I'm having one crazy week from all directions, and I've been so lethargic lately, I began working out again, although I should wait a couple of more weeks, but I just couldn't and for the first time ever I was so out of breath, I had to stop Sad,

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 16/01/2015 13:41

Astigmatism here too. Surely if you're paying for an eye test you should be able to get one?! Anyway so does he get to wear cute little glasses now? :)

I am makeup free today. A couple of things (recurring spots in places other than chin, pill not having any effect whatsoever after 2 months) have made me think that my tube of concealer is full of bacteria, so when I put it on my spots, they just keep recurring. This happened before and I got a new tube and it helped, so I am leaving all my spots uncovered today . I need to stop stressing about it as I'm sure that's not helping :(

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 16/01/2015 13:44

Aww santa maybe you should just do some gentle walking for now? Take it easy Flowers

santamarianovella · 16/01/2015 13:46

blair Pm but its not finished! Grin, will send another shortly

LinusDKD · 16/01/2015 14:00

santa take it easy! Maybe talk to a personal trainer to see what kind of exercise you can do now?

The Peekaboo is actually quite nice but Fendi is just not a brand that floats my boat.

Same with Gucci (apart from the Disco, natch), Dior and Givenchy

blair can you get sime concealer with salicilic acid in or maybe tea tree oil? I think Vichy and La Roche Posay do them in a kind of stick. So you can conceal your spots and treat them.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 16/01/2015 14:07

Thank you santa have replied :)

Linus I will look out for those, thanks. Salicylic acid sounds good. I have benzoyl peroxide, but it just dries them out and makes them hard to conceal. I feel like I've tried every product that gets mentioned on here, and I'm on medication too! Think it's time to get expert advice as it's really getting me down.

I know there are people with much worse spots than me of course Blush but it's disheartening when they are getting worse not better.

shopafrolic · 16/01/2015 14:25

Flying in to say HL knitwear and trousers seem to come up big on me.
Dry did you see that knit has an asymmetric hem? Just checking.....
Lib huge bag packed :)
Betty will soon be in possession of my orange Le Pliage and some jewellery bits.
Do any of you have experience of people who have had a stroke? I need to visit a friend in the next couple of weeks. He has full memory, but no movement down one side. He can eat. Wondering what to take him - he's been in hospital for 3 months and is only just accepting visitors......

bettykt · 16/01/2015 14:40

Novice good job you stood your ground, a mother's instinct is not to be doubted, what happens next glasses or will/can it correct itself?

Santa take it easy re: exercise as someone recently said we can lose our fitness quite quickly, despite it taking ages to build up. Re: bags I remember those multi coloured LV bag, I disliked them at the time and yes they look really dated an naff now. I do remember lusting after a Fendi Spy bag, as you said one minute they were the It bag and the next minute gone. I still quite like them but they too look dated but at the time I thought they could be a classic bag.

MNV Question: so how do you know which IT bags have longevity and which will be flash in the pan?

Blair Flowers really hope the spots will heal very soon.

Well I ummed and ahhed and finally bit the bullet and played sales chicken and got these with some Xmas money, Grey shearling Acne Pistols I paid half that much for them, well they are instant love, I've put them on and even though I'm wearing a breton and charcoal skinnies they make me look super cool and a bit rock chick imho Blush plus they are so warm especially on this cold day. I can see why they are raved about I don't want to take them off. Okay gushing over, better remember to take the labels off before stepping outside

Dry hope the jumper is the one

muddlingalongquitenicely · 16/01/2015 14:40

My first 'proper' bag was a Dior Smile

When my dad had a stroke we got him bingo dabbers and wordsearches so he could use the hand on the best side.
What about a talking book (on a cd we got youngest son the lord of the rings a set for Christmas)

bettykt · 16/01/2015 14:45

Oh Shop Flowers for your friend, no experience of people I know who've had a stroke but here's hoping he makes a full recovery, I know of a few friends' parents who have come through well after having a stroke and with no visible signs.

And yes am really looking forward to receiving Shops parcel after stalking and raiding her pin accessories. Thank you.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 16/01/2015 14:52

Sorry to hear about your friend Shop, I'm afraid I have no experience that will help but hope his recovery progresses well.

Ooh betty nice buy! So glad you love them.

Not sure about It bags. Obviously you can sometimes tell if a gimmicky version of a classic bag is going to date quickly, but otherwise I think you just have to get something that you love and that suits your life :)

QueenCardigan · 16/01/2015 14:58

novice I think the reason that opticians don't routinely do tests in under 5s is because they don't often have all the equipment/knowledge to do it. What's the plan? Is he being referred to eye hospital or paediatric opthalmologist. After seeing dd have her eye test in a proper paediatric orthoptics clinic I'd be keen to get your ds tested at one too and they can do any necessary follow up.

AmberNectarine · 16/01/2015 16:24

I had a Dior Saddle (remember them?), I would still use it in a retro way but it broke quite soon after I got it. I also have a pink snakeskin Dior flap bag that I really need to retrieve from my old bedroom at my parents' house along with my LV Speedy and Fendi Spy. Santa, I loved that Murakami collection, but I think it got hugely faked and it put people off. The other one season wonder I can think of is the Marc Jacobs Stam. They were everywhere!
