gatekeeper, I used to have one of those dressing gowns. It was green and beige/brown tartan wool, with silk-lined pockets, cuffs and neck (so no scratching), and green/brown silk twist piping and tasselled belt. I found it in a charity shop, of course! It fell to bits eventually - whereupon I composted it.

I looked into buying a modern one and they can be had from Jermyn Street etc, but you'd need to sell a kidney.

I don't do belted as I have no waist but I do love a full length white cotton nightdress to waft around in feeling all sorts of Kate Bush.

Nothing like a sturdy pair of apple catchers to complete the joy. Can't be doing with crack munching feckers.

I am very fond of my kidneys so will have to keep looking in charity shops; I actually found such a thing a few weeks ago but the collar was stiff with grease from fotty years of brylcreme and some other nasty stains so declined

The shites stopped making them though. They were heaven underfoot and nicely clunky in a 'fuck off I don't do stilettos ever thanking you kindly' sort of way.

anyone recommend to me a nice comfy pair of lace up chunky brown boots please. I ordered a pair of Doc Marten hiking style boots but I can't get the tongue part over my high instep. Grrr

But while we're talking about shoes: I need to lose about 4kg of flab. My reward, when I achieve it, is going to be these.
