Have just seen a beige ( supposedly grey)fake fur coat that is not sexy but love it. It's cosy.

Am also partial to chunky knits and heritage fabrics. Anyone else?

Will not stretch to mum boots though!

Oh I can join with the chunky boots/ shoes crew, check out duckfeet boots.

msfreud · 02/01/2015 09:56

Seasalt rain coats. Skirts that come to at least my knee. Knitwear from M&S Indigo collection. Sensible boots from Clarks.

msfreud · 02/01/2015 10:02

All you sensible flat shoes fans, have you seen Conker shoes?

Fishandjam · 02/01/2015 11:37

I like the look of both Duckfeet and Conker!

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 02/01/2015 12:35

I've got some heavy jersey harem pants. I heart them.

SwedishEdith · 02/01/2015 12:37

Phwoah! @ those Conkers. Actually, the yellow ones are very like some Red or Deads I have.

Knittingbat · 02/01/2015 13:21

Oh god, you people are just enabling me! LOVE chunky knits, tweed (kind of wish we all had to wear tweed skirt suits and naice shoes what like posh ladies did in the thirties) etc.

Now want saltwater sandals, clumpy boots and a toast tunic AARGH.

punygod · 02/01/2015 13:28

I like a nice t-shirt material grandad top. Like you get in FatFace.

I like a nice pair of cords.

Uggs.

I wear a trapper hat when walking the dogs.

I do love a cardi.

And a onesie.

I'm a total lost cause, aren't I?

SwedishEdith · 02/01/2015 13:38

I've just ordered a tweed suit from House of Fraser...

queenbrunhilda · 02/01/2015 14:35

So, given I am clearly amongst kindred spirits, I'll confess to a tweed pencil skirt in the Boden sale, which I'll wear with clumpy heeled brogues (and maybe some eccentric hosiery?).

HexBramble · 02/01/2015 15:25

What are mum boots?? worried

ElizabethHoover · 02/01/2015 15:28

Well. Increasingly they are biker boots tbh

HexBramble · 02/01/2015 15:30

Mum boots??

HexBramble · 02/01/2015 15:48

Granny Chic

  • anything wool, tweed, cashmere, pleated, silk scarves, brogues, boots.

Or

Shaker Chic

  • Toast, Chie Mihara, Plumo, Margaret Howell, Nicole Fahri, Joyce Ridings and anything from above.

This has been me since about 14yrs old, apart from my clubbing years when it all went glitter and fairy winged for a bit. I love charity shops - ya gotta love a permanent pleated wool skirt for less than a fiver :-)

Although I did buy recently a pair of ear muffs. They are neither Granny, Shaker nor chic - but they are warm (and slightly Princess Leah).

Fishandjam · 02/01/2015 16:52

I don't think those are Mum boots hex, I think these are. But frankly, I think we should all wear what we damn well like and phooey to the naysayers.

WhereIsMySantaHat · 02/01/2015 17:38

Fish, while I agree with your last statement fully, those boots are granny boots so much so I think my actual granny has a pair Grin

BillStickersIsInnocent · 02/01/2015 17:48

Hell Elizabeth Biker boots are mum boots??!

BillStickersIsInnocent · 02/01/2015 17:50

Selks · 02/01/2015 17:57

HexBramble · 02/01/2015 18:24

Re the, not tether.
Bloody autocorrect.

educatingarti · 02/01/2015 18:55

What do people think about www.gudrunsjoden.com/uk especially the wearing of longish tunics over longer skirts/dresses?

WhereIsMySantaHat · 02/01/2015 19:07

Hex, no, fish' clarks link directly above my post Smile

RonaldMcDonald · 02/01/2015 19:47
