Have just seen a beige ( supposedly grey)fake fur coat that is not sexy but love it. It's cosy.

Am also partial to chunky knits and heritage fabrics. Anyone else?

Will not stretch to mum boots though!

and ankle cow boy

mums are obsessed with boots

queenbrunhilda · 02/01/2015 20:36

Educatin: Scandi Frump opens up a whole new sub-category!

Fishandjam · 02/01/2015 20:42

I rather like it educating.

SwedishEdith · 02/01/2015 20:46

Grin @ Scandi Frump. Some of the fabrics are rather nice.

Selks · 02/01/2015 20:55

Enough with the 'Mum Boot' thing. That's been done to death. Who gives a shiny shite...just wear what you like. This thread is to EMBRACE all things "frump" anyway!

Fishandjam · 02/01/2015 21:46

Well, quite, selks! And I'm at ease with my inner (and indeed outer) frump.

Kernowgal · 03/01/2015 10:10

I started dressing like a frumpish hippy in my teens and have never really stopped. Never had the cash nor the inclination to follow fashion so I stick with what I like and what suits me. Can't stand man-made fabrics mainly because I really feel the cold. There's nothing bright in my wardrobe, it's all earthy tones and black, navy and white. Well, apart from the several magenta tops. I love magenta.

My thinking is that it all usually comes around again every few years, so I'm not changing. I'll be briefly fashionable again at some point Grin

HexBramble · 03/01/2015 10:22

Phew re boots. I won't mention it again Grin
Actually, I have no sense of style. Especially when I'm feeling overweight so I dress for comfort which DH hates. Right now I'm wearing navy leggings and a stripey grey and white dress from trespass (£11!).

My weight fluctuates wildly and I never have found my 'style'. This saddens me a little especially since I have 3 girls and will probably never be a stylish style role model.

LumpySpacedPrincess · 03/01/2015 10:31

I dress like a sixties housewife. I am this far away from getting a headscarf and a trolley. Grin

flashystars · 03/01/2015 14:03

Bloody love my saltwater sandals

msfreud · 03/01/2015 19:02

Ooh yes, I like Gudrun Sjoden but I do slightly think it's a very all-or-nothing style... Can't really wear those tunics with skinny jeans and biker boots; you'd need a whole Gudrun wardrobe so you could wear layers and layers of the stuff. I do have a couple of the more "basic" items from there i.e. a plain grey wool tunic.

Fishandjam · 03/01/2015 19:45

I was planning on buying a few things off the GS website, now I've been introduced to it!

WorldWildWifeFund · 03/01/2015 19:50

Is your name Helen? (your partner Rob?)

Fishandjam · 03/01/2015 20:08

Who, me? Er, no Confused Is that some cultural reference I'm missing?

Highlandbird · 03/01/2015 20:17

Am I going to be the only one that confesses to practically living in a padded gilet? Blush
I'm a serious frump....it's all tweed, waterfall cardis, cords, wellies and gore tex round here, can't remember the last time I looked anything but frumpy, quite glad to hear I'm not the only one!

WorldWildWifeFund · 03/01/2015 23:14

No, Fish, just wondering if the OP is called Helen.

VenusRising · 04/01/2015 03:55

I have a poncho, and am not afraid to wear it.

I also bought a pair of unstructured clarkes boots in the sale, and my oh my they are even more comfy than my Ecco boots!! They're a bit "your podiatrist recommends....."

I also like a bit of tweed, a brogue, and a gilet, when not ensconced in my trusty poncho.

My name isn't Helen either....

AnotherGirlsParadise · 04/01/2015 04:30

I have a slate-grey wool poncho and I look like an absolute dick in it, mainly because when it's cold I have a habit of walking around with my arms folded under it Grin I look like I've got no arms but MASSIVE, weirdly pointy boobs.

Laska42 · 04/01/2015 08:57

Helen and Rob are Archers characters.. , not sure what the ref to OP means though

So my Toast Elisabeta tunic and cardigan have arrived and they are both HUGE , i mean really huge , Im a 14 mostly on top so ordered the 12 (as they said loose fit ) but really there is loose and theres loose , its more of an 18/20.. AND now I have to pay to return Angry GRRR.. So warning ,.. yes its lovely wool and would be very cosy but buy small..

noddyholder · 04/01/2015 09:01

Leggings with knee length Uggs

Chandon · 04/01/2015 15:05

I want this thread to keep going.

Am wearing leggings. Grey leggings. And ankle boots. And a tightly fitted long tee (to highlight flab post 40s arse) and a chunky cardigan.

The cardi is Brora though. Bought cheaply (! Cheaply! Brora!) at a clearance sale.

I am comfy and warm and look nicer than it sounds (defiant)

Chandon · 04/01/2015 15:07

Laska, I used to buy Toast in the sale, but these days it is all too baggy for me....

Khalessi · 04/01/2015 16:09

I'm also rather partial to a bit of fairisle, love it!

Milmingebag · 04/01/2015 16:49

I have a thing for minimalist lagenlook stuff- so black/grey/burgundy layered but cut quirky. Don't like the flouncier stuff. I hate tight clothing.

I love Conker POBs. I am resisting my inner pixie's need for a pair of Fairysteps.....

Milmingebag · 04/01/2015 16:58

Oh and I love my magenta Birkenstock clogs.

Is it wrong to lust after a pair of solmate socks?
