Ujjayi I would one day like a Chanel (was going to ask DH for my birthday, but decided it's a teeny bit 'grown up' for me just yet) but I think I'd get a Boy bag like santa has because they are my favourite. That said the classic flap is gorgeous but I would have to get caviar leather and silver hardware

Ujjayi · 16/12/2014 20:18

Oh thank you so much everyone for your replies & particularly the reassurance of non-snobby service. I am feeling way more relaxed about it all now.

I really have no idea what colour/skin/hardware I want, other than possibly leaning more towards gold hardware and yes, Santa, definitely the flap/double C clasp. When I had a little internet mooch earlier, my gut reaction was medium being a good bet for day/evening cross over. I have never given it too much thought - always thinking it was one of those items/issues that I wouldn't have to trouble myself with!! But I'm a great believer in gut reaction so I envisage clamping eyes on a stroke-able piece of gorgeousness and just knowing it is The One.

Of course, I may not yet - perhaps DH is considering something else entirely! But I do think it is Chanel related as he asked me two months ago "if you could only have one luxury item to last a lifetime which store would you go to?".

I feel a bit low-rent now as my surprise for him tomorrow is tickets to the Guy Bourdin exhibition at Somerset House followed by skating & champagne in the Fortnum's lodge. I mean, it's lovely but it's hardly Chanel lovely!!

Anyway, thank you again, lovely ladies. I will be sure to report back!

Fedupnagging · 16/12/2014 20:36

Ujjayi how fabulous - you will find the bag that is right for you and will know it when you see it iyswim? The day you have planned for your dh sounds lovely. Please come back and let us know how it all went.

Shop the whistles jumper looks fantastic on you.

One sounds like you are working very hard - 2 broken toes Xmas Shock. Think you need to slow down a bit lovey.

Have been baking all sorts of goodies to give as gifts this eve but seem to have eaten rather a lot as I go along .

Am wearing grey Nike yoga pants and M&S grey vest covered in icing sugar and chocolate. Promise to do better tomorrow!

Drywhiteplease · 16/12/2014 21:02

Fedup I iced my Christmas cake earlier.....couldn't resist the marzipan! love the stuff! now feel a teeny bit sick.
Final episode of The Missing...I'm off
Ujj how exciting, Chanel is never naff, total CLASS, enjoy.......and your DH's pressie sounds lovely too

OneLittleLady · 16/12/2014 22:15

uggh, yuck yuck yuck, marzipan!

Have been advised to attend minor injuries unit tomorrow, luckily Dsis is here tonight so she can go with me tomorrow. Positive at least two, possibly three twos are broken. Believe me when I say, hoisting yourself up off the floor between the bin and the toilet is no fun!

No fashion news today, was wearing a black mock wrap dress with black vest underneath, black thermal leggings and a red cardigan. black leather boots on feet with black and purple polka dot Hobbs coat and black and white McQueen scarf. Oh and a grey and black woolly hat with ears on it Dsis HATES that hat, all the more reason for me to wear it

OneLittleLady · 16/12/2014 22:16

toes not twos!

libertychick · 16/12/2014 22:40

Poor you one, it does sound like you are exhausted - as you say the end is near. I can't wait for next week, days of lounging around Smile

OneLittleLady · 16/12/2014 22:53

I am pretty exhausted tbh lib but it's almost over now, just two more days to get through then just over two weeks off! I've got to work on my presentation over christmas but that's not going to worry me, I have all the books I need and everything else I need is accessible on the web. I've already done some of the research for it anyway so I'm confident that I will get it done in plenty of time. Plus my friend from uni says I can go to her house and use her equipment to finish off my compositions over the holidays so that's one less thing to stress about and she doesn't live far from me so that's an added bonus Xmas Smile

Drywhiteplease · 16/12/2014 23:04

lib I'm counting the days.......Friday 9.45pm I can switch off and relax Smile

I have discovered a fashion oxymoron deep at the back of my sock drawer........fishnet ooooh er, sexy pop socks complete turn off . I blame Trinny and Suzanna BIN

And, reviewing this season's purchases......I haven't made many at all Xmas Confused think I may be becoming more considered Xmas Shock

I wanted, and bought some classics;
black suede courts from Whistles are getting a lot of wear.
Black leather pencil skirt from Jaeger is also working hard.
2 going out tops, v good.
2 Uniqlo merino round necks

But you know what? I really don't need anything Xmas Shock

What have been you season heroes?

OP posts:
Drywhiteplease · 16/12/2014 23:06

Oops.......I forgot the.Sam Edelman Petty boots

OP posts:
libertychick · 17/12/2014 00:00

Petty boots are my hero buy as well Dry and my Hobbs black suede courts (I am your style stalker!!).

The grey Theory cashmere sweater from TKMaxx is looking like a good purchase. And the dress from TKMaxx that I wore to the MU.

I'd like a couple of new work dresses. Planning to spend an afternoon next week doing a wardrobe sort out and actually plan my sales purchases rather than impulse buying.

OneLittleLady · 17/12/2014 00:09

My two hero buys have been my polka dot Hobbs coat and my red cashmere cardigan. they have kept me super warm on the coldest days.

I'd like some 'dressy' tops as I have none really, everything I have is tees or really casual tops. I don't have enough cashmere either, I've found it's the best thing for keeping me warm but not adding extra bulk so definitely need more of that, Uniqlo is one of the places I shall be visiting when I go to see DP for my birthday, that and TKMaxx. I'd like some more boots too, maybe some higher legged ones this time, hoping for a decent sale bargain for those though, with my calves being as big and muscular as they are, boots are a bit of a holy grail things for me

Drywhiteplease · 17/12/2014 07:58

Where's Blair?
Amber how are you holding up with the marathon? Smile

OP posts:
AmberNectarine · 17/12/2014 08:05

I'm ok dry, one down five to go. Got home at about midnight so not feeling too bad.

My best buys have been my suede OTK boots, grey fur coat, J Crew checked shirt, grey J Brands and leather mini skirt.

AmberNectarine · 17/12/2014 08:05

Oh and Rockstuds and Disco. Of course!

LinusDKD · 17/12/2014 08:12

Morning!

Ouch one broken toes. Hope these last few days go by quickly.

Yes, where is blair?!

Pretty cold on my run again this morning. Oh and a dog jumped on me from behind scaring the bejeezus out of me. Hmm

I had passed a woman and her two dogs but then a few minutes later (I was probably 15 m in front of them) one of her dogs jumped on my legs from behind. I was so startled I screamed and then I might have sworn at the woman Blush )

MarshaBrady · 17/12/2014 09:22

Linus how annoying I feel like jumpy dogs are part of the obstacle course when I run, so many of them.

Top buy us Maison peacoat as I wear it every day, I do have other coats I really should wear.

Grey shearling pistols and equipment check jumper.

I only need skinnies now really, which I'll get in the sales and need to pick up Sorel boots today and see what they are like.

Stokey · 17/12/2014 12:10

Uniqlo normally have good discounts in the sales One so definitely worth waiting.

Not sure what my best buys have been, maybe H&M sparkly jumpers. I wear my parka all the time but it is not warm or waterproof enough to count as a best buy. And I'm hoping to pick up some boots in the sales and some cashmere. JL also had cashmere in every colour so may be some reductions.

I'm at Westfield trying to finalise Christmas. Just picked up a white faux fur coat from New Look for £20 for my childminder who is dressing up as a snow queen on NYE.

Shop or anyone else who has bought track days for DH, is there one you would recommend? Preferably near London, north better than south. And driving a different car as our Golf won't really cut it! Thanks

shopafrolic · 17/12/2014 12:16

Leather trousers for me Thanks Lib and my Pistols (although were they last season?)
Paige denim always works hard for me and my Uniqlo merino knits.
Linus as a dog owner myself it is a pet hate of mine when people can't control their animals. Poor you - not surprised you swore.

shopafrolic · 17/12/2014 12:22

Stokey I still believe that Silverstone do the best track days - nothing like racing at the Grand Prix track.
If your DH has a favourite luxury car e.g. if I could buy any supercar I'd have a Porsche / Ferrari etc then buy him one for those cars. this is a fun one as you get to experience two very different drives. For me the best track day I did was multiple supercars in one day - or the Lamborghini thrill day because they are small, fast and great fun to throw around the track.
Hope this helps - feel free to PM if you need more info.

In other news - the Joseph leather trousers have arrived - will have to try and on later. :)

shopafrolic · 17/12/2014 12:24

Or Stokey you could hire one

shopafrolic · 17/12/2014 12:34

So in the time it is taking J Crew to sort my delivery out, the sweatshirt has gone into their sale. WWYD - should I call them and see if I can get some more discount since I don't actually have the sweatshirt yet?

LinusDKD · 17/12/2014 13:17

Always worth a try shop!

After a few collisions with dogs on my run I am now always on the 'lookout' for jumpy dogs (so I can skip out of their way if need be) but as I had already passed them I thought I was 'safe'. Wink

I don't blame the dog as that's what dogs do but the owner clearly didn't have a clue how to handle her dogs.

My favourite purchases have been my Rails shirts and my By Malene Birger skirt. Oh and my Manolos, just wish I had more opportunities to wear them!
