shopafrolic · 12/12/2014 21:54

I always struggle with bites too Liberty I sympathise. Fingers crossed for no delays tomorrow.

maradesbois · 12/12/2014 21:58

Fantastic opener Dry Xmas Smile.

Novice I think its nice he has an informal holiday pic. If it was just of you alone in a sexy pose would be different. Only the office cleaners probably see it apart from him anyway.

Marsha don't know why but your tour of Britain doing a city a day made me think of you like the Queen on her official visits! Nice boots, I love the parka they've been styled with too. Am cold weather coat hunting with a vengeance atm. Glad your ds had a lovely party.

My Sleep boots arrived today. Like Shop I love them! Will be fab for general city wear and for where we're going at new year. They have flip over crampons too.

Linus come for the next mu.

Dh home from his last foreign trip before Christmas tomorrow, yay. So looking forward to a relaxing family weekend. Had booked a new restaurant in town for tomorrow night but just cancelled it. Want to stay in and enjoy the festive house & Christmas tree and drink champagne instead.

BrandyAlexander · 12/12/2014 21:58

Oh no, poor you Lib! Mozzies lurrve me! I remember having the most amazing holiday in St Lucia and being bitten to bits. Put me off ever going back there.

Linus, I think unless you live very centrally, you don't see that much of London as a family.

I have finally, finally recovered from my gastronomical meal at la pont de la tour. Fab. Just in time for my next client ents meal out on Monday.Hmm

santamarianovella · 12/12/2014 22:02

Did someone mention Birkin? Xmas Grin

linus ,if its any consolation to you, regent street sucked this year, I liked bond street though, white peacock, very pretty,

Actually the Germans and Belgians do it better I think, here, the architecture helps a lot, it's all gothic , Romanesque and baroque, so you feel its authentic, there isn't a lot of twinkley lights going on, but its so Christmassy,
I really like it more here, just like the London shopping and supermarkets more though,
novice ,I don't know , I wouldn't be bothered by it that much I think,

Topazandpearl · 12/12/2014 22:02

Good luck for tomorrow liberty and safe journey home. I share your pain re mosquitoes. When we go abroad, I reckon an alert goes out amongst the local mosquito population that there us fresh blood available.

Linus oh yes, do come!

Dry loved your intro, and hey, we're 50! Congrats to all.

libertychick · 12/12/2014 22:08

I meant to say I love all the snow boots! The ones Sleep linked are gone in my size, then I was hovering over buying Marsha's when I decided I don't really need them as I have a great pair of Caterpillar bikers that are fantastic in snow.

What is it with mossies only attacking some people and not others? DH never gets bitten and DD has no bites. The one behind my knee is so sore I can't wear my skinnies for travelling home tomorrow.

Linus I agree with Novice on London life with kids. I have major Envy of Sleep and Mom living centrally.

BTW - where is mominatrix? Come back, we miss you Xmas Smile

AmberNectarine · 12/12/2014 22:15

Agree Santa, I was in Brussels a couple of weeks ago and it was just so wonderfully festive nothing to do with the fact I started drinking champagne at 10am

It is clearly a night for flaky friends chez vogue as the friend I was supposed to be meeting bailed as she had to work. I'm actually secretly glad as I went to see Basement Jaxx last night and, ahem, overindulged, plus I have a 4-night birthday bender planned for next week. Spent the evening catching up on TV while DH snored on top of me!

Awks · 12/12/2014 22:18

Liberty I feel your pain re the bites. If you have any old relly's, maybe they are prescribed Betnovate. Nick some and put a teeny bit on your bites, they'll be gone within a day. It's marvellous.

London is the best city in the world for people with money . Novice I worked 2 blocks back from Pont till April. We moved over the bridge then and I so miss Shad and the lovely bars along there.

Sorry Miss Dry Grin - love the OP btw.

QueenCardigan · 12/12/2014 22:23

Absolutely marvellous dry. Although I would have preferred more than cadburys .

lib mozzies love me too and I react badly to the point that I need antihistamines as I'm sooo itchy.
shop shame about your night but curry and prosecco sounds good.
linus do come to London.

Can't believe its only been a week since I was away as it feels like ages ago. It's been a crappy week (don't want to discuss why online) so I need to find some festive spirit again. Friends coming tomorrw and planning on some cocktails one of which is sleeps prosecco/Cointreau one.

Awks · 12/12/2014 22:25

I've just bought this. It's bloody lovely and £38. £38. I cannot believe my luck - it's so flattering I seriously look like I am a size 8.
www.riverisland.com/women/dresses/day--t-shirt-dresses/Black-sparkle-swing-dress-659867

It's so nice I don't care if you lot all hate it Grin

BrandyAlexander · 12/12/2014 22:25

Thanks Voguettes. Glad I posted here first instead of being Angry at dh. It's definitely not a sexy pic. It was quite fascinating seeing his office with lots of family photos, and which ones he had chosen too.

Shop, I missed that are you looking for another pair of leather trousers! Presume it's because you love the first?

OneLittleLady · 12/12/2014 22:26

lib another who feels your pain, i am a magnet for insects of any kind. Fleas especially love me.

I've had a rubbish week too QueenC so sympathies to you lovey Thanks

I have just discovered that Next do adventure time onesies and robes in the boys section. I waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaant them!!!

libertychick · 12/12/2014 22:28

Thanks Awks. I have noted down for future reference! All my old rellies are in Ireland. I have some hydrocortisone cream but so far it's not working well.

Has anyone bought anything from My-Wardrobe now that it's gone to 70% off?

BrandyAlexander · 12/12/2014 22:28

That's lovely Awks.

Thanks and hugs QueenC. I have had a thought. You have never done a high street version of your fantasy links...hint.Wink

Awks · 12/12/2014 22:35

Liberty if they don't go down in a day or start blistering I'll pop you a teeny bit in a pot and post it. It's amazing stuff - I'd have never believed it till I went to Brabados and got bitten to the quick and a fellow sufferer introduced me to it. You can buy it in chemists outside the EU so whenever I go, I stock up Grin One urgh, fleas. Yuk.
Oooh yes, high street version. I love the high street - but only some bits of it, obv. River Island is my fave at the moment. There's always something in there I like once I've fought my way through the neon bikinis

libertychick · 12/12/2014 22:42

That's really nice of you Awks, I will let you know tomorrow.

I really like your RI dress, I actually tried it on a few weeks ago and meant to link it. The shop I was in only had 8 and 14, the 14 was too big. 12 is sold out online, what is the sizing like? I am wondering if it's worth trying in a 10? That said I have absolutely no where to wear it!!

libertychick · 12/12/2014 22:43

Hugs for you QueenC, hope you are ok?

Awks · 12/12/2014 22:48

Liberty I got a 12, it was stuck on the last chance to buy rail - sizings generous and as its a swing design you may well be fine with a 10. I've 2 other dresses in a similar vein from there and they are just brilliant - no creasing, go with loads and people always tell me they look fab and so cheap

Hope your bites go down, they actually make you feel sick sometimes. Poor you.

QueenCardigan · 12/12/2014 22:52

Good idea novice. I already have the high St version the Saint laurent glitter shoes and my new bag is a high St version of a 2.55. Now I wonder where does high St elie Saab.....

I'm okay lib, it's just been stressful family stuff.

santamarianovella · 12/12/2014 23:01

Ouch lib, safe travels home,

queen hugs, hope you have a good time tomorrow ,

Fedupnagging · 13/12/2014 07:08

Can't believe I woke up at 6 am on a Saturday and can't get back to sleep Xmas Sad especially as I had a late night last night!

Dry, great start to the new thread, sooo funny.

Flowers to Queen.

Shop sorry your night was cancelled but curry and prosecco sounds a pretty good alternative.

Nice dress Awks. Love it when something is super flattering.

Lib hope you have an easy trip home. Those bites sound v painful. Mozzies love dh and ds2 but steer clear of the rest of us mostly.

Christmas in Berlin sounds great Marsha. Great boots btw.

Novice I'm not too keen on that bag either - the Aspinall however is lovely.

The BR order finally arrived 11 days - not too impressed with that timescale. Will link when have tried it all on.

QueenCardigan · 13/12/2014 07:43

fedup BR/gap are usually very efficient and I've often received things within 2 days but presumably this near to Christmas and with discounts they've been inundated.
novice I wasn't keen on the bag either I'm afaid. A bit meh and a bag should be wow.
awks great dress.

OneLittleLady · 13/12/2014 08:29

morning all

Ds is visiting today so I'm busy tidying up so things are nice for him and making sure OneCat hasn't stolen all the hanging baubles! Dsis is coming later to pick some things up before she goes to get ready for her Xmas do and then I'll be studying most of the night as I'm still working on finding the info for my presentation. A very rock n roll Saturday, I'm sure you'll all agree Xmas Grin

GeorginaWorsley · 13/12/2014 08:39

awks
Love the dress and you have kindly already answered my sizing questions!
Am going to order in a 6 to try.
Agree River Island fab at moment, even for an old grandma like meGrin

shopafrolic · 13/12/2014 09:29

Hugs for you QueenC but also coming on to give you a GINORMOUS SNOG (very unVogue). I thought I'd take one last look at M-W after your post, and I found someone must have returned some Joseph leathers and I picked them up in my size for £217 instead of £725!!!!! Fingers crossed they fit now! Thanks
