Forgot my merino crew neck jumpers from Uniqlo and J Crew, all I have been wearing lately.

Drywhiteplease · 17/12/2014 15:31

We had a Ferrari for a weekend 15 years ago. It was so fantastic. I can still remember my Ferrari outfit Grin saddo . Hire is a brilliant idea shop
Jumping dogs Xmas Angry] linus

My cool all black ensemble was fetchingly set off today by flashing Santa and flashing Rudolph brooches , tomorrow I will inflict my hideous Christmas jumper on my workmates.

Has anyone seen a came a line knee length skirt on their travels ? Could do with one for work

OP posts:
libertychick · 17/12/2014 16:02

I can't do links on phone dry but look at M&S Collection, Contrast trim skirt with new wool, in Nutmeg. £35. Looks nice. You'd probably need to take it up a bit.

Fedupnagging · 17/12/2014 16:42

Shop, I would definitely try to get a reduction. It's so annoying buying something fp that is reduced soon after.

Dry, I saw a camel knee length skirt last week but can't think where. Cos possibly but can't see one on their website.

Had a manicure today and nails are now a gorgeous shade of aubergine.

My favourite purchases are the Michael kors jacket for walking the dog, and the sam edelman rockstud alikes which were much admired last Friday.

shopafrolic · 17/12/2014 16:48

The Outnet were doing a camel feature the other day - might be worth a nosey.
I've tried the Joseph leathers and I'm not sure. They are a bit big. I'm wondering if I can get them taken in (which would still probably be cheaper than buying at full price.....) Need to try agin tomorrow in daylight.

LinusDKD · 17/12/2014 16:49

hobbs for dry

LinusDKD · 17/12/2014 16:54

love this but still £££. Maybe when it gets reduced further?

OneLittleLady · 17/12/2014 17:03

shop where is it the leathers are too big? that will make a difference to how easy they will be to take in

Dsis and I have spent the later [part of the afternoon wrapping presents, everything's in brown parcel paper with red and white ribbons and red and white candy cans. they do look quite lovely. Not the the children notice the ribbons, they just scoff the candy canes and rip open the paper! I just like to make them look a little special

shopafrolic · 17/12/2014 17:27

They're looser than my others on the waist One - but they have a gathered waist at the back so it may be as simple as undoing a seam on the waistband and shortening the elastic - not sure. But also I will never wear them with anything that doesn't cover my bum (not that brave) so I'm not even sure it's an issue. For the 70% saving I feel I should keep them as if I decide they aren't for me I'd make more than that on EBay...... need to sleep on it and hear everyone's thoughts

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 17/12/2014 19:21

I'm here Dry and linus thanks for wondering after me :) work has been so so mad but finally I'm where I want to be and I've got the day off tomorrow for a party with clients. I've not been feeling either very festive or very fashionable! Looking forward to getting stuck back into the thread now.

Stokey I agree with Shop on the track days, she knows lots more than me though!

Amber hope you are enjoying your week of birthday celebrations.

My best buys this a/w have been very practical, R&B shoe boots and &other stories cashmere scarf have both been worn nearly every day.

One sorry to hear about your toes. Glad it's going well with your assignments though.

Ujjayi looking forward to a potential Chanel update, I'll cross my fingers Xmas Smile

fedup I had my nails done too yesterday, they are navy blue with gold glitter. Ended up costing £54 Shock but to be fair they are perfect!

Ahhh feels nice to have time to sit down and write a proper post. Hope everyone is ok and chilled about christmas!

Oh finally, I ordered some work stuff from Baukjen in the sale. Navy ruched skirt, red ruched dress, and grey turtleneck dress.

bettykt · 17/12/2014 20:18

Ujjayi please come back and tell us what you bought. Btw I think your present for dh sounds really lovely, enjoy your day.

My heroes this a/w have been my Gap merino sweaters, my funnel neck Jaeger coat which I wear daily and my Me and Em tops have been fab for work am getting at lot of wear out of them.

I'm trying to be more considered with my purchases too and don't really need anything but like Liberty I fancy a cross body bag either in black or grey. I want a nice classic style that I will use for years to come.

Shop is it too much of a PITA to order the reduced sweater and send the other one back? I'm waiting on a JCrew order but am not in a rush for it though.

Blair lovely to hear from you.

QueenCardigan · 17/12/2014 20:52

Hello. Manic here too and I'll be glad when Friday comes and school is over
and the mums go out to celebrate.

shop only keep if perfect despite the saving as if you don't lve them you won't wear them.
blair like the sound of your glitter nails (although ouch at the price). I've seen some lovely glitter polishes but wonder if at 41 I should leave it to the young uns.
one ouch. Having broken mine over 6 weeks ago I've realised how long toes take to heal.
ujjayi where are you? We need news....

I need inspiration. Dh has suddenly realised that Christmas is next week and that he hasnt got me anything to open. As he has no time to trawl the shops he's asked for a list. Trouble is there's nothing I need/want but I don't want to end up with tat (anyone remember last years chocolate fountain?). It can't be too expensive as I've had the shoes, bag and iPad but I have nothing to open on the day. Any ideas? I don't tend to do posh smellies or perfume. I don't need books as I get everything on my kindle. I don't need any scarves/gloves/socks. I'm stuck.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 17/12/2014 21:00

I felt the same QueenC. DP and I don't spend much on each other at christmas, but that's a problem as if I want little things I'll just buy them myself before christmas! Also I hate that everything will be reduced a day later.

What about nice underwear, or will you be opening them in front of parents/in laws? Grin Slippers? Pyjamas? Loungewear?

shopafrolic · 17/12/2014 21:03

Voucher for a beauty salon QueenC?
Music? DVDs? New underwear or nightwear? Cookery class? Slippers? Picture frame. Scented candle. Alcohol. Dinner out at a nice restaurant..... That's me out of ideas :)

QueenCardigan · 17/12/2014 21:19

I'm a fusspot....not underwear as I just wear one bra as its the only one that gives me any shape, I have slippers, he's getting me a onesie, don't do music as I'm stuck in a 90s time warp and love absolute radio 90s and I don't do DVDs no time after mumsnet/Pinterest. I did think about beauty salon voucher so that I could get another vinylux manicure at some point....

shopafrolic · 17/12/2014 21:23

DH just got some wireless headphones which are v cool.......

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 17/12/2014 21:30

Vouchers are great to receive, not so much fun for the giver/people watching you open it. It's a hard one!

Fedupnagging · 17/12/2014 21:45

So far I have asked dh for nice socks and chocolate Brazils and can't really decide what else. I tried
these boots today and mentioned how much I'd like them to dh but he didn't seem keen - he wondered if i might like a suprise Hmm.

Am just catching up on the tattler program - fascinating.

Drywhiteplease · 17/12/2014 21:56

QueenC I love vouchers! Beauty are perfect and a real treat really hoping for some this year

Now I need to look at the camel skirt links.

Hello everyone! I have had one of those days, just finished my last conference call.Hmm Highlight of my day was seeing my kids at their carol concert. i had a little cry. Blush

Less noble highlight I did my nails while on a conference call. Why have I never thought of doing that before?!!

Biiiig wet kisses to Lib and Linus for helping me out the other day. I did a fortnum and mason hamper, I never would have thought of that!

Right, going downstairs to open my Selfridges box full of goodies which has been sat for 2 days but I have been too busy to open!

Drywhiteplease · 17/12/2014 22:08

perfect.... [fsob].....mind you would be easy to make.
Blair glad you're ok.

Fedupnagging · 17/12/2014 22:26

Oooo, nice skirt Dry but yes you could probably make one. I mean, how hard can it be? I can barely thread a needle.

I rather like this grey skirt which of course would be knee length on me. Actually, Dry, could you run one up for me please Xmas Grin

Drywhiteplease · 17/12/2014 22:47

Fedup really a skirt like that is v simple to make the problem us finding decent fabric.
