Thanks Novice, can't believe my little baby is 5 ShockSad. He got some books for his birthday and DH said we need to sort out the baby books from his room, I agreed and then he says 'and put them away, just in case...' HmmShock

sleepwhenidie · 30/12/2014 23:38

Oh..and I'm not going to link (too enabling) but I saw some lovely Banjo & Matilda and Cocoa cashmere trackies in Question Air sale

OneLittleLady · 30/12/2014 23:39

Just in case eh sleep

Tickets booked to visit DP next week, am planning lots of lazy wandering, treating myself to a few nice bits and pieces and just generally having some time away. I always find this time of year both sad and stressful so it'll be nice to get away after it. Plus I am going to see Wicked which I'm really happy about, I've waited ages to see it! Dp is going with me even though I don't think he even likes musicals!

shopafrolic · 31/12/2014 08:44

Morning all! Happy New Year's Eve. I was trying to think about my best overall buy of 2014. I think it was finally biting the bullet and buying Pistols. Close second comes Liberty finding me the HL leathers (and then starting an obsession) :)
I hope everyone has a wonderful night tonight (no plans here which suits me fine). Thank you for making 2014 so awesome for me, some of my best days and nights this year have been spent with you guys. Love you Voguettes. writing this now so you don't think I'm drunk!

Drywhiteplease · 31/12/2014 08:53

Best buy of 2014?......without a doubt my Jimmies. Finally found a pair of jeans I'm at peace with need another pair.
All of my MNV purchases have been brilliant, so my NY resolution is to let you lot dress me from now on not joking
Yup, agree Shop this thread has been a revelation and made me some lovely friends too.
off to tip turkey soup down the plug...can't stomach any more

Morning all, happy New Year's Eve.

I am ok thanks for asking Novice. Monday was emotionally draining to say the least. Yesterday I spent the day with dh relaxing at a spa.

Blair love the personalised shoes idea. Great website - just got distracted designing myself a few pairs of shoes! Oh and I also have G feet. Delicate I 'ain't!

Lib I love that monsoon dress-what did you style it with in the end?

Thanks for the petty's link. They are now on their way.

Not sure what my best 2014 purchase is - probably the 2 kate spade bags along with my £15 in the sale gap maxi skirt.

QueenCardigan · 31/12/2014 10:03

So many best buys this year that I'm not sure that I can just pick one. Looking through my purchases of the year they have all be worn loads although I'm surprised at how much I buy. When you add in lipstick/nail polish etc I averaged at 4 items per month. But I don't think I have any wardrobe gaps as such which means I can just buy things for love rather than needing them iyswim.

Any mistakes of 2014? Mine were the navy Chelsea boots. I should have trusted my instincts more but was swayed by finding navy comfy boots and although I loved them they just weren't my style. I learnt that navy boots arent as versatile that I thought they would be and that my boots need a tiny bit of height rather than absolutely flat. Still, I sold them on and only made a £60 loss which over the course of the year isn't too bad I suppose? Aim is for 0 waste next year though. I will have the confidence totrust my instincts more.

Can't believe its another year. This time last year I was posting asking for duet ideas for dh and I on karaoke Grin. At friends tonight so won't be drunkenly posting unless the dc don't last and we are back home by 10!

Looking forward to seeing you all again in March. Can everyone make it?

QueenCardigan · 31/12/2014 10:04

fedup Flowers for you.

Karbea · 31/12/2014 10:12

Morning all, back from work, still full of cold, begone with you!
Botox booked for Monday at 3, and have spoken to beautician about having little thread veins on my nose and checks blasted, need to wait two weeks after the botox. Plans in action!

I bought very little this year, nothing since July. I think the nicest thing was my black celine tie bag, but I think I've only used it twice.

MarshaBrady · 31/12/2014 11:43

My best buy would have to be the Maison Margiela peacoat. There were so many around that felt too stiff, so it was nice to find something so soft. Buying it put me in a state of price-shock for a while though! But cpw is pretty good as I wear it all the time.

The mistake would be the MaxMara cashmere as I wore it a couple of times and then it got a hole at the dry cleaners, what a waste. Luckily it was only £50 but I wouldn't buy MM cashmere again.

I did a huge clear out and plan to do more as I buy new things. One in one out.

But mostly I want to say I love vogue, and all of you on it are lovely friends. Here's to a fab 2015 and mus and happiness and support and comfort in harder times Thanks [fizz]

MarshaBrady · 31/12/2014 11:44

QueenC I think so! to March mu

OneLittleLady · 31/12/2014 11:53

One of my best buys has been the mini Gracie courtesy of liberty she is so beautiful and my default 'going out' bag now not that i go out much!

Other note able items have been the cheap cashmere cardigans which have been so warm and an essential part of my A/W wardrobe and my leather lace up shoes

I should be good for March MU QueenC depending on exact date

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 31/12/2014 12:05

Yes (of course) to March MU! I am so excited :) I'm very flattered that you lovely people want to dedicate a MU to my hen (any excuse I suppose Wink) - I've nearly been on the thread a year now and it's definitely helped make my 2014. Really really glad I joined, you're all fab!

Bought the shoes. I agree Dry if they are perfect then £220 is a bargain! Hopefully they will be as comfy as novice's - I am nervous about wearing heels for 12 hours or whatever, which is why I went for a proper mid heel, less than 3". I will report back on the shoes when they arrive, as if you don't have odd sized feet like me, then they are only £149 which is probably the same as a pair of plastic shoes from somewhere like Kurt Geiger.

Best 2014 purchase - got to be my Reed Krakoff Boxer bag. I ummed and ahhed over it for so long, including multiple visits to the shop to look at it when I was in Vegas, but I haven't regretted it at all, even though it weighs 5kg and has to be carried on the elbow. Now they are discontinuing it so I want another! But I love love love it.

Here's some Wine for everyone to toast to an amazing 2015! when oh when are we going to get the [fizz] emoticon??

AmberNectarine · 31/12/2014 12:35

sleep your DS must have exactly the same birthday as mine - he was 5 yesterday too! Happy birthday mini-sleep!

NYE already, how did that happen?! Hope you all have great evenings, I am doing karaoke and cocktails with DH. No idea what I'll wear yet.

On train into town with DD for a sales browse. Will report back!

Cranagh · 31/12/2014 13:18

Mara, I still haven't bought the 50/50s as since I got back on Monday night I've ordered a navy bag (think I was lucky and got a return), this gilet and Rag & Bone jeans from Shopbop. Also we bought a house on Sunday. So have to buy the boots in Feb now instead!

Karbea, if you want to do a HOC colour analysis, I went to Morag Young in Kensington and can recommend her. If Hopefully or Travelincolour were nearer, I would have gone to them, I know them both and they are fab.

How are your lure jeans doing, Shop? Mine have just fallen apart? I've switched allegiance to Rag & Bone and J Brand again. If you really think you won't wear your autumn colours again, I'd put them on ebay or vestiaire. I kept some of my black but tan is awful on me, and I'd just bought chestnut pistols and a beautiful tan Prada bag.

Happy new year to you all!

shopafrolic · 31/12/2014 13:29

I'm wearing my Lures as I type Cranagh they are a year old - worn and washed heavily and are fine (hope I don't jinx them). The pair you sent me eventually gave up around the pocket at the back - where have they fallen apart? Are they quite new?
What was your colour diagnosis (forgotten sorry). Beautiful bag - really lovely. And huge congratulations on the house - when is the move?
I am still thinking about 5050s on a daily basis but I need to try them (and sell those Joseph leather leggings) before I do anything else.

Cranagh · 31/12/2014 13:40

A summer so warm colours look bad on me. The Lures have gone on the inside leg but I think I must have had them two years so got my money's worth
.
The house will be finished in July or August so we'll go in the summer, probably end of June, as we can stay with my dad if we have to. DH will still be working in London so I will be back often.

bettykt · 31/12/2014 13:53

Just back from the panto. It was fab. My best buy of 2014 is my black funnel neck coat from Jaeger. I wear it all the time.

Blair your wedding shoes sound fab, will you post a pic when they arrive?

Happy birthdays to MiniLinus and MiniAmber time flies

Hello Cranagh I don't think we've met. Lovely Burberry bag

To all of you going out tonight have a lovely evening and to those of you staying in have a nice time too.

Happy new year everyone, I've really enjoyed being on this thread and meeting some of you in person. I definitely dress a lot better as a result and hope to hone my style even more in 2015. I like Marsha and QueenC idea of no mistakes.

Hope 2015 is a great year for you all. I'm just off to Waitrose to get the fizz in and yes Blair we do need a fizz emoticon.

Stokey · 31/12/2014 14:51

Happy New Year Voguettes, have great nights in or out.

I hope to make the March MU finally and put some faces to names.

My best buys this year have been Muubaa biker jacket, Paige Hoxtons and Puma high tops, all good basics.

Great Burberry bag Cranagh.

I popped into Uniqlo today and got a couple of things in the sale. A very "winter" fuschia cashmere jumper (a colour I would never have bought before getting my colours done) and a cashmere beanie and wristwarmers. In fact cashmere wristwarmers must be my top buy of 2014, I just wish I didn't keep losing them.

MarshaBrady · 31/12/2014 14:52

I'm going to keep using [fizz] until it turns into a glass of fizz.

I just walked past the Céline and felt a pang of guilt! How could I not choose that. I'm very used to it now I think.

Then it led me to the Rossis x2 as special mentions.

Drywhiteplease · 31/12/2014 15:00

BLAIR I'm an idiot! I don't know how I imagined personalised shoes could posdibly cost £40!!!!!Xmas Shock no, I wasn't drinking either!! that's why I said "great price"......£220 is what you'd pay for very special shoes, but I'd never call that a "bargain"!!!!!!

Bloody hell....my "tasteful" table looks like a confetti bomb has gone off on it and the party hasn't even started Xmas Grin I got a bit carried away scattering the sprinkle stuff! looks rubbish but I can't be bothered to undo the carnage!!!!!

I'm planning to come for the March meet up.....must book ticket. Is it a day job?

Have a good night all. I am desperately going to try to show restraint this evening. Can't cope with hangovers and 2 more big dinners and drinks at the pub on consecutive nights coming upXmas Hmm

Now going to delve in my wardrobe to choose what to wear....if only mt chaise longue were here I could recline while pondering...................Xmas Grin

Very quiet night in for us tonight. I've not enjoyed NYE since the one where I was knocked to the floor and had my glasses broken by over excited young ones. Happy to stay in and be warm and just watch the tv Smile

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 31/12/2014 15:07

Lol Dry oh dear! Now I look like a pillock for agreeing that £220 is a bargain! It's pretty much the most I've ever spent on shoes along with a couple of other pairs but I do think it's good for bespoke Blush that's what I meant! Arghhh! And I wouldn't usually get them monogrammed, obviously.

I'm hoping the march MU will be a day to night job! Shame the clocks won't have gone back.

Tonight I think I'm going to wear black shorts and a sparkly top, I've worn my party dresses at least twice each recently so feel like something different.

Karbea · 31/12/2014 15:22

We are in tonight, dh is cooking, he is currently in waitrose.
Hopefully I'll be at the meet, I'd love to meet you all. Maybe I'll be superful colourful by then!

Karbea · 31/12/2014 15:23

Not sure why the iPad decided to add ful to super...
