stokey isn't it the sulphides or sulphites or something like that in wine that people are allergic to? Maybe you can get sulphide free wine?

sleepwhenidie · 28/12/2014 14:02

As far as I understand it, it's impossible for wine to travel and stay tasting good without sulphides Sad. Even organic wine contains them., though it may be worth trying them to see if your reaction is any different Stokey.

Dry let me know how the kickboxing goes!

AmberNectarine · 28/12/2014 14:25

I wear a wiggle sleep which is a fleece headband with ear flaps. I look like a total penis in it but it saves me the excruciating ear pain without overheating my head.

MarshaBrady · 28/12/2014 14:31

Sleep I use those small foam headphones rather than the tiny ones, and they keep my ears from feeling too cold. Your poor ds, ds2 was ill for about a week and lost quite a bit of weight from not eating. He is eating now tg but I felt a bit eek when I saw how tiny he got.

Fedup I really like the pettys I have, I like wearing them when I think there is zero chance of rain - as they are suede.

Stokey that is such bad luck. I don't drink much wine, but I would not be happy if that happened with champagne, is that just as bad?

Karbea that makes sense, do the yoga first.

I need to get on this sales malarchy. I have had spend so much on new kitchen etc it all keeps getting pushed down the list. But must have a look.

Did the run, helped that it's my favourite weather, sunny, cold and importantly no wind!

BrandyAlexander · 28/12/2014 15:08

FedUp, I haven't got it yet but need to get it this week. Think I will get the Neverfull. It's a significant birthday otherwise normally it's small gifts in our family.

Stokey, sorry about the allergy.Sad

Very impressed with the runners!

Sleep, your post made me ask dh whether he has had the credit card bill yet but he said no, then got suspicious as to why I was asking as he thinks I have gone sales mad, but I haven't bought anything!!

Sorry to hear ds is still under the weather. What are you doing for nye?

sleepwhenidie · 28/12/2014 17:25

Here is a site that sells low sulphite wine (which tend to be organic) if you are interested Stokey. I went to an organic wine tasting evening at The Connaught last year and the sommelier talked about sulphites as I said up thread, but give the sulphite free wine a go and see how they taste Smile

sleepwhenidie · 28/12/2014 17:36

Oops wine Xmas Wink

Drywhiteplease · 28/12/2014 17:44

Sleep kickboxing was surprisingly good. Tough and effective. I'm not really aggressive and felt a bit of a plonker at first though, but I got over it.

I love my Pettys Fedup super comfy and look great.

Stokey my MIl has a problem with French white wine Hmm think this may be to spite me apparently they are high in sulphites, she sticks to New World.

Amber you looking l"like a penis" in your running head gear made me Xmas Grin......hilarious.

Turkey curry tonight AND I have 12l of turkey stock Hmm what on earth will I do with it all? I have high turkey boredom thresh hold but this could prove tricky

Drywhiteplease · 28/12/2014 18:14

Can anyone recommend a good website for discounted trainers? Think I need a new pair.

OP posts:
sleepwhenidie · 28/12/2014 18:29

I use sportshoes.com Dry, find a pair you like/fit well in a shop then get a prior season pair much cheaper from there Wink

Karbea · 28/12/2014 18:44

I think Pettys might be a good option for me, I've spent far too much time in my Uggs again this winter as all of my boots are too high to run about it. Which colour do you all have, not sure if I'd prefer black or brown. I tell you, I've totally lost my shopping mojo, I don't know what to buy...

Fedupnagging · 28/12/2014 19:26

Marsha the Hudsons I like are grey suede but as I want a pair of low heeled boots to wear everyday, are probably ruled out. karbea, I will go for black as I don't tend to wear the brown boots I've got.

Am pmsl at the thought of penis head Amber in her running gear!

I am attending a funeral tomorrow so will be wearing black. As the forecast is very cold, will wear opaques and knee high boots. Think I will add a scarf in purples and blacks too.

LinusDKD · 28/12/2014 19:36

No time to catch up but I wanted to say thanks to lib for getting me the Uniqlo jumper!

I didn't get your pm but let me know how to pay you!

Stokey · 28/12/2014 19:59

Thanks for the low sulphide site Sleep, I'm definitely going to check it out, and try new world wines Dry. I knew the MNVers would have good advice! I haven't tried real champers recently Marsha but Prosecco has been one of the worst offenders. Still will try the real stuff at NYE. And of course there's always a stiff G&T to see me through.

Thanks for the Petty info too Fed up, hope the funeral is OK tomorrow.

I think I want just black leather too as the most serviceable Karbea. I've got an Office suede pair of ankle boots which have got a bit trashed by unexpected rain showers.

Good luck with the mass catering Dry. I think I made a broccoli & courgette soup using chicken stock, sure turkey would work too. Or Turkey noodle soup- chuck in some chilli, coriander, sweet corn, sugar snap peas?

shopafrolic · 28/12/2014 20:08

I've missed loads in one day. Felt lousy this morning so hid on the sofa under a blanket!
Waving v enthusiastically to Cranagh - I need to try the Dune and the 50 50s don't I? Would love your feedback when you do buy them. I seem to remember someone saying they stretched and didn't stay up? Perhaps that was something else. Not sure.
Matches order should be here tomorrow. I need to be v sensible about what I keep and what goes back. Will need Voguette help :)

shopafrolic · 28/12/2014 20:09

Love to you for tomorrow Fedup Flowers

Drywhiteplease · 28/12/2014 20:11

Stokey soup ideas sound great.

Karbea I bought the Pettys in black leather. If I find them reduced I'd buy the brown too.

Shop are you surviving?

Sleep knew you'd have a website, thank you

OP posts:
Drywhiteplease · 28/12/2014 20:12

X post Shop

Thoughts are with you too Fedup

OP posts:
Karbea · 28/12/2014 20:22

Ok I'm going to go with the black ones too, not a very exciting purchase to pop my cherry after no shopping for 6 months is it :/
Matches have them for £111.
Do they come up big/small?

shopafrolic · 28/12/2014 20:22

There are a pair of size 36 Petty's in black with a brown heel for approx £80 on Amazon if anyone is interested.

sleepwhenidie · 28/12/2014 20:27

Amber you make your cold ears/running solution sound so attractive! Thank you, will check it out Xmas Grin

I got oil cooking chips Xmas Hmm on my grey pistols on Boxing Day. Tried talc and got a few spots out so now on a mission to find an effective nubuck cleaner. Any recommendations?

shopafrolic · 28/12/2014 20:31

Sleep Xmas Shock
First Marsha and the tuna and suede incident - now you Xmas Sad

libertychick · 28/12/2014 20:33

Big waves to Justa and Cranagh, lovely to have you both around Smile

I ordered this cashmere sweater today. I am hoping it's less cowl and more roll neck as on the model.

Linus no problem. Can you pm me your address and see if it works when you pm me?

Back to work for me tomorrow - boo! Am sensibly sticking to water tonight but considering drizzling some baileys over the Christmas pud and cream I plan to have shortly!

Stokey I'd be very upset about a wine allergy Shock.

My NYE will be a quiet one at home but I have a girls night with some work colleagues on the Tuesday to make up for that.

Fedup I hope tomorrow goes as well as these things can. Hugs for you.

Karbea · 28/12/2014 20:33

Argh maybe I should just get another pair of Pistols, I'd wrecked mine and threw them out awhile ago...

libertychick · 28/12/2014 20:35

Oh how annoying Sleep - I have no idea how to remove that - sorry.

Karbea either black Petty or Pistols would be a great start to rebuilding your wardrobe and it's lovely to have shiny new boots. Go for it!
