AmberNectarine · 27/12/2014 10:54

I've got the Dune copies actually shop as I have skinny calves and they fitted better. The R&Bs wrinkled round my ankles. I've been very, very pleased with my Dune ones though - I have four pairs of boots from them and all have been excellent!

Drywhiteplease · 27/12/2014 11:15

shop lib and novice hope you all feel better soon. Smile
Crawling home through the snow . Could be a long journey, spectacular scenery though on a beautiful sunny snowy day. It's been a fab Christmas .... Think I've put on 3 stone.! Excellent food and Df supplied all of the wine all good French stuff, but I had my glugging plonk hidden.
Found an old stock Boden camel wool skirt on EBay Outlet.... Boring but useful. Really not tempted by sales.... May change mind when I have decent wifi at home though Xmas Grin

Thanks Dry.Smile

As I had my pre-sale splurge I haven't been tempted by the actual sales. Although there is something currently tempting me. Amber is a brave woman!!Grin

Can I get your opinion on something?

is the Louis vuitton speedy 30 special enough as a present? I am also thinking of the lv neverfull as an alternative?

also if you were going to get a ring that's cocktail so sort of looks fake but is real what would you get? I would say my boodles raindance falls into this category.

Thank you x

Drywhiteplease · 27/12/2014 13:10

The Neverfull is a useful, timeless classic.... Don't know the other one .

Not sure about ring .......

OP posts:
Karbea · 27/12/2014 13:15

I think both LVs are classics so would be great gifts.
If you go to Boodles they'll show you lots of different things, I tried the raindance a few times but it seemed to argue with my engagement ring on the other hand as it was so modern, eventually dh had something commissioned by them for me, with aspects of my other ring, so it sort of goes, really hard to explain. Boodles are so lovely, so it's worth sitting with them and discussing what you want.
I've a tiffany cocktail ring too, but I've only worn it once :/

santamarianovella · 27/12/2014 13:27

novice, it depends on who is getting it, some people will really be happy with the monogram line, others won't, the Neverfull is very popular, and really useful, as an everyday bag. I personally like it,

For cocktail ring, I'd get somthing from chanel fine jewellery like the camelia ring or maybe somthing from Lydia courteille,I have passed by her tiny boutique a few times now, and every time,I stop to admire the display, so whimsical and creative.

BrandyAlexander · 27/12/2014 15:28

Thank you. Is the workmanship of the Neverfull one that would last a long time?

I am asking for dsis. It's for a significant birthday. dbil has texted me for help. Bag budget is max £1k (my present) and ring might be £2/£3k. Need to check but he told me not too blingy as he's planning that for their significant anniversary in 2 years time (he's brave foolish as she's sooo fussy). He's taking her away for a week as well but wants her to have something to open while they're away. This time last year I was beyond petrified for her health. I am so blessed to be planning happy things.Smile

Karbea · 27/12/2014 16:52

LV are very good at fixing anything that breaks.

Has anyone tried this blazer? Is it nice? Would it be too long on little 5ft me?

OneLittleLady · 27/12/2014 18:01

evening all, checking in

hope evryone had a lovely christmas. mine has been busy, lots of family to see and i was very spoiled. had lots of lovely things including a beautiful wool VW scarf.

shopafrolic · 27/12/2014 19:29

Novice so pleased to hear that news! :) I know nothing about the bags you mention. My friend's cousin works for Boodles and I loved the Raindance ring but all a bit over my budget I'm afraid.

shopafrolic · 27/12/2014 19:30

Blazer looks lovely Karbea but again, no experience sorry

shopafrolic · 27/12/2014 19:38

Lib I love the navy dress. I'll be interested to see how you go as Cos sizing is always so erratic. Has your lovely DD loved Christmas this year? DS has been so excited Xmas Smile

BrandyAlexander · 27/12/2014 19:47

Hi how are you feeling Shop? Almost whatsapped you earlier but was feeling rough.

Yes, i am V happy that 2015 looks good for dsis, and you Voguettes were lovely at hand holding.Smile

Karbea, that jacket looks v long for us shorties!

Santa that ring is absolutely lovely though I am sure waaaay out of budget but nice to look at!

Have to describe my "look" today: James Perse v baggy mushroom coloured jumper and grey superdry trackie bottoms. Not forgetting my slipper boots. Stylish I am, just stylish.Grin

QueenCardigan · 27/12/2014 20:00

Hello all. I'm totally unstylish in Bluestone and am dressed for warmth rather than style. North face hat, jacket and gloves and merell snow boots.

novice can't help you I'm afraid as not a big fan of LV and no idea about cocktail rings either.

shopafrolic · 27/12/2014 20:10

Novice handholding was easy to do :)
I'm ok, keep getting moments where I feel rough, then push on through. I'm drinking through it now. ILs are here. Nice salmon dinner. Will have an early night and hope for the best. Love to you all my fabulous Voguettes (whatever you are wearing ;) )

OneLittleLady · 27/12/2014 20:12

feel better soon Shop Thanks

Dp got me tickets to go and see Wicked! I am so so excited, I've wanted to see it for so long now Grin Grin Grin

Karbea · 27/12/2014 20:23

novice I'm really struggling to find a blazer it's really irritating me :(

Wicked is lovely!

I'm still in pjs on the sofa... Full of cold.

BrandyAlexander · 27/12/2014 20:46

Ooh you're hard core ShopGrin I have some lovely home made mince pie and mulled wine and it's going to waste. You're tempting me...!

Karbea, blazers are a nightmare for us. I hunted and hunted for about 3 years to get one. I bought an armani one which was terrific and lasted one season a couple of duds and eventually find the perfect ones in....Marks & Spencers petite. I bought black and navy and they have been brilliant to wear this season. I would love to have a cream one for Spring/Summer to go over my work dresses. 3 years and still looking!

Karbea · 27/12/2014 20:50

Have you tried the JCrew petite ones.

BrandyAlexander · 27/12/2014 21:04

Yes! They are perfect! I forgot about them. So I tried them on earlier this year in the US except I tried on a 2 and think I needed a 0. Of course when I was next back in the usa it was a different store in a different city and they didn't have it in stock. I almost wept!! I would give those a try if you're thinking of getting them.

Karbea · 27/12/2014 21:13

I think I might try one from them then.

Karbea · 27/12/2014 21:25

I think this is the only current option, but it says it's longer length. Maybe I'll wait a few weeks and see if anything new comes in anywhere.

bettykt · 27/12/2014 21:40

Evening all,

Hope all the poorly Voguettes, dh's and dc are getting better, not nice, I myself am not feeling too great either, was in bed all day yesterday but am feeling better today, still sniffy and tired but am drinking Wine to ease it all away. And as for fashion, Uniqlo grey sweatshirt and lounge pants for me, super stylish - not!

I've been really good and have stayed away from the sales, I don't need anything just a black cross body or shoulder bag.
