So My Wardrobe have an announcement on their website saying they are no longer trading. Looks like I won't get a refund even if I send the leathers back so the decision could well have been made for me..... Should I call them?

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 18/12/2014 09:49

I think you're right Shop, you wouldn't be able to get a refund in the normal way now.
Obviously we knew it was coming, but it's still sad about my-w. I have bought quite a few things from them and loved their loyalty scheme. I wonder if their demise was something to do with NAP - seems weird that they are plugging them as an alternative rather than just closing.

Ugh today is my day off but I had to get early to take DP to pick up his car from the garage at 8am. Just had a shower and need to dry my hair, but feeling headachy so have had a large espresso. Hope I can perk up for my Xmas do later - starts at 2pm!

That marni skirt is lovely, there is a similar one by Maxmara I keep seeing - on sale at Matches here, not quite as nice though.

shopafrolic · 18/12/2014 09:54

I've just been in to see my tailor. He said that they fit fine on the legs, but could do with being taken in at the back. When he pulled the waistband at the back more tightly they fitted beautifully. The thing is, I am scared to touch them in case it goes wrong.
I'm going to keep them, wear them with long sweaters and blouses, and then see how I feel about the fit as I go. If it really starts to bother me, I'll get them adjusted. I do love them - and would wear them for different things to my HL ones. Sold to Shop!

libertychick · 18/12/2014 10:03

Yay shop! The leather legging queen!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 18/12/2014 10:03

Omg I've just seen a poster on the fur thread called BlairWaldorfHeadBand. Hope no one gets confused Shock

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 18/12/2014 10:04

A wise decision Shop :)

Ujjayi · 18/12/2014 10:54

Ah bless you all for asking after me!

We had such a brilliant & fun day. DH loved the exhibition - thankfully he "got" why I thought he would enjoy it and we had such a laugh skating after copious amounts of wine at lunch!

DH now has a new "going out" wardrobe courtesy of Paul Smith and I...

Drum roll please....

I am now the proud and very excited owner of... This baby

Only DH insisted on dropping it off at the office and won't let me see it again until Christmas Day!! When I fully intend to cook Christmas lunch with it on my shoulder Xmas Grin I am still in shock and can't quite believe it!

I had a wobble that perhaps I was being dull buying such a "classic, classic" iykwim but actually it is entirely the right thing. It is like being in the most wonderful candy shop in the world but I knew that I wanted a forever piece that I would always want to wear and so black with gold hardware had to be the choice.

Thanks again ladies!

libertychick · 18/12/2014 11:00

That is gorgeous Ujjayi. Lucky, lucky you. What a lovely post, you sound like you had a fantastic day! Thanks for the update. Has made me smile Smile

OneLittleLady · 18/12/2014 11:09

Absolutely gorgeous Ujjayi your day out sounds lovely

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 18/12/2014 11:28

Wow Ujjayi I'm so happy for you! Glad you had a lovely day. Great choice on the black and gold, I love it :)

LinusDKD · 18/12/2014 13:05

Wow, Ujjayi gorgeous bag! It sounds like you and your DH had a lovely day out and had lots of fun.

shop wear the leather leggings for a bit and you can still have them altered if need be later on.

I love that Marni skirt dry! I can't really wear camel (I love it on other people) but I would love it in black, navy or grey.

shopafrolic · 18/12/2014 13:44

Oh Ujjayi how beautiful. Sounds as though you had such a lovely time and what a lovely treat. Have a very Merry Christmas xx

shopafrolic · 18/12/2014 14:29

Oh God - I may have done something really stupid - or it could work out brilliantly.
There was a BNWT pair of Joseph leather leggings - size 10 on EBay for £400. So I've bought them. I figure if they fit, I can sell my size 12 ones for at least £400. And if they are too small I'll try and resell. If not, i will be the proud owner of two pairs of Joseph leggings! Xmas Hmm

libertychick · 18/12/2014 15:03

Ahhhh shop Grin Fingers crossed they fit well. You will be able to sell the other ones.

I have just had a glass of prosecco and now off to another meeting. Am ever so slightly light headed!

Karbea · 18/12/2014 15:11

Hello,

Can I rejoin???

ujjayi I've exactly the same bag. I love it, I'm so glad I got the gold hardware even tho dh was pushing me more towards the silver. I think as it's a classic the gold looks right. I'm tempted to get a boy next year and will obvs go gunmetal hardware ;)

Anyway, I can now spend money!!!! Woooo!!!! This is so exciting, although after not buying anything apart from a track suit from costco since July I've totally lost my shopping mojo :(
I don't know whether just to cope with what I have until March and them do a personal shopping day at Selfridges (the best?), I've done a couple before but years ago, last time I did one was in between seasons and ended up spending £1000 on jeans (due to their minimum spend) and me not really liking anything else/not fitting, the min spend is now £2000... Or I could go to the Birmingham one where it's only £500... Urgh...

What I really want now is a black blazer, black leather (faux?) leggings... Anyone any view on what would be good for a 5ft tall blond who has lost her mojo?!?!

Karbea · 18/12/2014 15:13

Oh and I was going to say how weird it was that my wardrobe was promoting netaporter... I wonder if they sold all their remaining stock to them and that was part of the deal?

Drywhiteplease · 18/12/2014 18:56

Shop good grief! that is fashion fate. You'll defo be able to resell on Ebay. Excellent!
Ujj sooooo lovely. What a great day. Under NO circumstances are you to cook with that bag anywhere near the kitchen! I'd have gone gold too
karbea welcome back....and happy shopping.
Re camel skirt, I may have found something....will keep you posted.
linus I don't ever wear too much camel alone near my face! always break it up. I really want camel skirt, black polo neck, black boots look, used to do it a lot, it's very me. I also love camel with red and also pale blue.

So I managed a day in acrylic.....v happy to take it off.

My house smells of chocolate cake. Dd has requested my moist choc cake made with ground almonds, covered in choc fudge icing and Ferrero Rocher on top gold glitter ofcourse!!! Classy Xmas Grin ....no more princess cakes for me Xmas Sad

Ugh, today has been tense. Had to send Dp on a mission round the Tiffany stores of london to find the right bracelet in the right size for dsis1's xmas present. Mission was successful though

I have been to the doctors, I do have a water infection, unfortunately it has spread to my kidney which is why i've been so ill and in pain. Doctor told me off for a) not going in before now and b) not asking for an emergency appointment when I realised what it might be that was wrong. i consider myself chastised Xmas Blush

bettykt · 18/12/2014 20:07

Ujjayi thanks for coming back and telling us what you got, your day with dh sounds lovely. I want to hear more about the shopping experience at Chanel, how were you treated? Damn well I hope!

Karbea welcome back, we'll help you spend Xmas Grin

Dry I was going to ask you how/what you would wear with camel. especially hosiery and footwear. Now I know!

Just finished my mad spate at work, am drinking sparkling SB and am contemplating a bath. Need to hit the shops tomorrow for some last minute pressie buying. Missed my Jcrew delivery today.

shopafrolic · 18/12/2014 20:23

Welcome back Karbea
Camel is great for you Dry love that coat on you
Novice no feedback from your Selfridges haul?
Size 10 Joseph leggings will be here tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed for me ladies. J Crew jewelled sweatshirt has arrived and is a keeper.

shopafrolic · 18/12/2014 20:46

Marsha how's tricks? Have you gone away now or are you still working? Christmas hugs to you my friend x

shopafrolic · 18/12/2014 21:23

Congrats to J Crew who honoured the price difference on my jewelled sweatshirt. Makes up for the delayed delivery Xmas Smile

AmberNectarine · 18/12/2014 21:25

one don't muck about with UTIs - I did and almost died of blood poisoning at 24wks pg. I still have my notes that describe me as moribund and record my HR as over 200. There's nothing quite as scary as watching a crash team charging the cardiac paddles and waiting for you to have a heart attack (I didn't), and all because I put off going to the doctor! Take care lovey!

What a day! DS has had a sickness bug and DD a nasty cold. Not how I wanted to see out my 20s. Am now sitting on sofa in a daze with Grazia and glass of fizz.

MarshaBrady · 18/12/2014 21:27

Thanks Shop! Been wanting to catch up properly. Everything is covered in dust and I'm out all day as we have work people in. Will resume back to normal at the end of the week.

Ujjayi fantastic!

MarshaBrady · 18/12/2014 21:29

Karbea welcome back, stick around!
