MrPop Don't be envious, I've only been twice. I saw an amazing cobalt blue croc leather bag in Coach. It was reduced from £10,000 to £3000 and obviously I'm kicking myself for not buying it Grin.

Would anyone be interested in a 'Winters' meet-up in the new year? Some shopping perhaps and lunch? Somewhere central that suits a range of budgets. Wallets obligatory of course.

I had a rare night out yesterday and wore my Frame black jeans, the sparkly blue Crew Louisa top (that I linked to a couiple of time son previous threads), a black blazer from Selected Femme, black croc leather Osprey clutch and my cobalt blue shoes. I felt very chic (apart from the falling over my own feet bit at the end of the evening!).

carrie74 My winter coats are the Merrell Haven II in light grey (surprisingly durable and resistant to marks), a black hobbs wool coat (5 years old and looks like new) and a Jack Murphy black waxed jacket.

Having a browse on the LK Bennett sale pages:

Grey metallic coat

Cobalt biker jacket

Cropped jacket

Black and white shoes

Cobalt skirt

Pink shoes

carrie74 · 16/11/2014 19:41

Love that cobalt jacket Sorrel!

SorrelForbes · 16/11/2014 20:32

I'm thinking of getting another pair of ankle boots Something a bit 'dressier' than my beloved Ash Jalouse. Perhaps black or grey?

SorrelForbes · 16/11/2014 20:46

Are any of these nice or have I completely lost the plot? Grin

KG with silver

Dune zips

KG Tiger

Hello winters. Just about to go to bed so I'm not going to get side tracked and look at links!

I'd be up for a winter meet up sorrell. I meet up with the ladies on the vogue thread and it's great fun.

My winter coats are a grey North face which I love but it doesn't have a hood so last Christmas I also got a navy barbour which is very toasty warm. I've also got a black anorak type North face which is years old and gets worn rarely. Then I have black and navy pea coats when I need something dressier.

carrie74 · 17/11/2014 07:51

I like the first ones sorrel, less keen on the third, fourth ones nice too. Favourite are the first ones (but heels scare me!).

SorrelForbes · 17/11/2014 08:32

The first ones are my favourite too. I like the others but they are a bit dull for me. £140 though! Might need to eBay some stuff Wink

QueenCardigan · 17/11/2014 22:10

I like the las two best sorrell but I do like suede.

Fab sandals carrie.

MrPop · 18/11/2014 14:16

Sorrel I saw some boots similar to the first pair in office. Will try to find to link.

I would be up for a meet up in theory - just depends when and where really.

Carrie look at these faux leather trousers.

So please bear with my on-going wet weather coat obsession:

Which colour do you think would be better for me (Jewel?? I think, dark hair / eyes - suit the darker colours)

squid ink (dark blue I guess??

coal - dark grey??

MrPop · 18/11/2014 14:20

Had a look at office but they're actually not v similar at all! Have you looked at shoeaholics - KG's discount site?

carrie74 · 18/11/2014 20:18

Ooh nice trousers mrpop, I definitely need to pop into H&M soon!

As for the coat colours, I actually think both could work. I'd probably edge closer to the navy as I'd be worried the grey looked like a washed out black rather than a clear grey IYSWIM?

didireallysaythat · 20/11/2014 20:56

I'm lurking for advice again ! I need a handbag (mine was stolen), preferably black leather that will take A4 folders and papers, and a laptop at a pinch. My style day said only soft bags that don't have a rigid shape (but that's not very practical is it?). Oh and I'll need to buy online as I don't do real shops (no time!).

Any suggestions ??

NeitherHereOrThere · 21/11/2014 09:18

I remember seeing soft tote bags around - think it was in TK Maxx?

NeitherHereOrThere · 21/11/2014 09:20

Just checked their website and they have loads that may be suitable for you

NeitherHereOrThere · 21/11/2014 09:24

I prefer coal cos of the bright blue hood lining. Coal is like charcoal so should be ok. The squid ink looks like a washed out black rather than navy to me? Squid would work fine although I am not too keen on the pink hood lining.

QueenCardigan · 21/11/2014 09:36

did what a bugger that some bastard stole your bag. What's your budget for a new one?
I bought this dress after seeing it on a fabulously gorgeous friend.

didireallysaythat · 21/11/2014 11:17

The bag I lost was around £100 so I'm OK with somewhere around the same mark. The bag is going to be cheap relative to the perfumes, all those not quite right red lipsticks and glosses, etc. And I'm missing my hand cream today ! I'll take a look neither - thank you.

Stokey · 21/11/2014 13:49

It's probably not what you're looking for DidI but i love my Le Pliage shopper as a general chuck all mine & kids stuff in bag. I've got this one in a good winter red.

I'd be up for meeting Sorrel, would love to see other winters in the flesh.

carrie I went to H&M on a pleather leggings mission yesterday but none in store annoyingly. Belinda on the workwear thread recommended the ones MrPop linked and these ones but I couldn't find either. I tried on another biker-ish pair but they were £29.99 and baggy at the knees.

I also went into Uniqlo, looking at jumpers. This pink one looked good on - I think it matches number 15 - and I'm trying to overcome my fear of pink as it's a double star at 100. But it was very thin, and I worry that my vicously sharp elbows will make short work of it. I think the cobalt was also a good match.

BearPear · 21/11/2014 14:11

Hello Winter ladies - please may I ask a question about your Style Day analysis? I am a winter, a jewel winter to be precise and I am very happy with that and I think I have got to grips with it. I had a Style Day and was diagnosed a Natural Classic.

My question is, how is your style identified? I was measured, did the questionnaires and what-not and the style type was revealed. I am sure it is right, as an example I occasionally wear a navy dress for work, it is part of my uniform but I wear it with a belt to fit my petite frame better. Without fail friends and colleagues comment, saying how smart I look, asking if I'm going for an interview or a date! So for me, wearing a tailored outfit fits perfectly with the Classic diagnosis.

What if the diagnosis said I was a Romantic and put me in ruffles and low necklines - what exactly is it that pin points me as a Natural Classic and not anything else? I can see from the questionnaire that I am not exactly an extrovert, but that doesn't mean that I wouldn't suit ruffles & cleavage! I know it works, I'd just like to better understand the "science" bit.

QueenCardigan · 21/11/2014 14:38

Not sure exactly bear but maybe you should email your consultant. The way is was explained to me that as an ingenue natural is that I am a natural but have ingenue qualities eg I like to add in girly details. I'm guessing that as a natural classic you have natural qualities so prefer things to be natural fibres, comfortable etc and avoid anything too tight fitting/severe?

I guess with everything we don't need to always box ourselves in too much and can wear ruffles etc although presumably anything too fussy detracts away from your naturalness?? Cleavage can look tarty on me and I'm better with just a hint of rather than full on in your face iyswim.

BearPear · 21/11/2014 14:53

Thanks Queen, I guess there's quite a bit to it, looking at body type and then personality etc. It is quite spooky that it seems to be spot on. It also explains why I always felt a bit odd in things that were too loose & shapeless and never felt relaxed in bold patterns!

NowhereNow · 21/11/2014 18:16

I am longing to have a style day. My consultant said she thought I'd be natural with either classic or ingenue.

My consultant is completely different style/age/personality type to me - I know it isn't meant to matter, but it somehow worries me a bit more for the style day than it did for the colour session.

AsBrightAsAJewel · 21/11/2014 18:31

From what I remember the various questions on your yin/yang define your style category, plus your consultants knowledge. I think I could have gone "either way" and my stylist asked a couple of tie-breaking questions to confirm my most dominant - I'm a gamine-ingénue, but I think the decision was whether I was more dominantly ingénue.

didireallysaythat · 21/11/2014 22:02

I think I'm going to end up buying another one of these (the one I lost)

www.amazon.co.uk/Catwalk-Collection-Large-Shoulder-Tote/dp/B002I2OG80/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1416607169&sr=8-4&keywords=catwalk+collection+handbags

Not exactly natural romantic but I can get A4 plus laptop in there.

What I'd really like is one a little larger that I could get overnight clothes in as well. But maybe that's a lot to hope for. Or another bag....
