novice - your and AMber's stamina amaze me. I had a hectic week last week, and spent all Saturday lounging around, and pretty much most of Sunday!

Marsha perfect classic coat, and a great buy. Taking a look at your list, this is the perfect riding boot, without a doubt - spend, but it will never date, and it is wonderfully made. Perfect going out dress, problem is that it will change almost annually (at least!), as will perfect cocktail dress.

shop - have you tried the black blazers from J Crew - they have a nice selection and the fabrics are quite nice. They also have a great red suede heel.

What do I "need"?

• Going out top - I tend to wear dresses, and the only tops I have are tees or button down shirts
• dressy wool coat - I have casual, mid length wool, hip length wool, biker x2, and furs, but no long dressy wool coat

Sure there are other things, but they go more in the category "would like to have, but really not necessary (aka OTK boots).

Thank you everyone. I am still feeling quite low and worn out but I think that's pretty much to be expected. Have had an afternoon hunting down a lost christmas present but it has now thankfully been found!

Good question Marsha. Apart from the riding boots my wardrobe would be complete with (bit of a wish list going on here):

• equipment silk shirt
• classic black handbag, probably chanel.
• maxmara camel-coloured cashmere coat.
• fur lined biker boots
• leather skirt, maybe mini
• party shoes
• ysl le smoking (maybe when I turn 40 but that's ages and ages off and only if am v slender!).

Shop don't know if you saw pics of V Beckham in Paris wearing all black apart from bright red trousers but I thought straight away that it was a look you'd rock.

the hole in my wardrobe is tops that aren't tees! I have two and a half drawers full of tees but very few blouses or other types of types. I do have a rather nice purple Biba blouse that I bought recently though

I'm missing the perfect going out top to wear with my black pleather midi skirt. I don't want sparkles, sequins, or lace, I need something black/charcoal and matte so I don't look too shiny. The search continues..............

Queen lovely hat- I bought an almost identical one from TKMaxx a few weeks ago. It's my new favourite hat!

I have just sorted out some clothes to put on ebay and unearthed an animal print jacket that is a good few years old but in brilliant condition. I'm not sure why I've not worn it really as it's a good style for me but wonder if it looks a little dated?

fedup I don't think it looks particularly dated either, but think it would need careful styling. That could just be because I can't do faux fur though! I think it needs to be worn in the evening with heels.

I have been looking for some extremely blingy earrings to wear for all my xmas parties this year, as both my party dresses have "interesting" necklines so can't wear a necklace. These are the dream but considering CPW, I need them to be cheap.

So which ones are the nicest and would go with a red dress and a navy dress?

blair I like the forever21 and the next ones best out of those options and I think they both could work with either dress. The green ones would clash with the red dress I think, red earrings and red dress would be too much and I think there's too many different colours in the topshop ones. Just me though

-an animal print,pony skin clutch, may have accidentally just ordered this from The Dressing room
-a really thick , down filled coat, don't think my M and S will be warn enough this year. This will be a big buy I think

I think I need a black or grey jacket to fill a gap in my wardrobe. Trouble is that all the nice ones I've seen are £££ like a gorgeous Saint Laurent one.

Today the weather is pretty dire again so I'm wearing one of my Rails shirts with black J Crew Pixiw pants I picked up in NY. This is the first time I'm wearing them and they are very comfortble and flattering.
