QueenCardigan · 09/11/2014 16:16

QueenCardigan · 09/11/2014 16:24

gorgeous bag

MarshaBrady · 09/11/2014 17:14

That's some swim suit! Love the bag.

Sleepwhenidie · 09/11/2014 17:34

Hi all, we had a cocooning day yesterday, friends visited with their newborn twins do lots of lovely baby cuddles - dc's were besotted! Today a fab walk on Hampstead Heath (wellies, skinny Koral jeans, cable cashmere and red scarf/sunnies), drink in the pub beer garden after, perfect crisp autumn day. Just finished yoga and heading home for boeuf bourginon prepared by DH, lovely.

Anyone spot Mom's whistles fur in Style (wardrobe mistress) today? of course they never read MNV oh no Grin

One hope you've turned the corner. Dry glad the dinner went well. Happy Birthday Topaz!

Sleepwhenidie · 09/11/2014 17:55

I'll take the swimsuit, should turn heads in my local pool Grin

LinusDKD · 09/11/2014 17:58

Evening!

Wow, that swimsuit makes even the model look 'broad of hip'. There's no hope for any of us then.

We spent the day in the mountains looking for a nice ski resort for DS to learn to ski.

DH had his first cheese fondue of the season, I stuck to Steak Tartare. Wink

Drywhiteplease · 09/11/2014 19:16

Busy day putting my house together. Tomorrow the wardrobes will be finished and the carpet fitted. Guess what I'll be doing tomorrow night? Can't wait!
Mom the menu was delicious and so easy I'm going to repeat it for the house full this weekend apart from the scallops, at £1.50 EACH feeding 8 adults might send DH over the edge . I did slightly singe the salmon nothing to do with alcohol consumption Wink but it still tasted good.
No fashion news. Have saved Style mag for now, am going to plonk self on sofa in my pjs, cuppa, Sunday papers then Strictly and Downton.....heaven.

OneLittleLady · 09/11/2014 19:59

Evening all.

Today has been so weird and somber. It's the anniversary of Dmums passing so I've felt so strange and sad all day. Dsis is still here as she doesn't want to be alone either. We are in different rooms but we both know we aren't alone, IYKWIM? i know she's only here for the christmas movie 24 channel though

No fashion news, I've been in darth vader pjs all day

Topazandpearl · 09/11/2014 20:09

Sorry to hear that One. Anniversaries are hard. I'm glad you have your sister with you Thanks

Drywhiteplease · 09/11/2014 20:16

Such a sad time One < hugs>

LinusDKD · 09/11/2014 20:19

Oh one I really feel for you. (((Hugs)))

BrandyAlexander · 09/11/2014 20:26

Very sorry to hear that One.Thanks

Sleep sounds like a lovely afternoon, bet you looked stunning.

Dry glad the dinner party went well! We did full roast Sunday lunch for 13. dh cooked up a storm even seasoning the lamb and chicken last night when he got home from the rugby! house was a total tip when they left - kids tend to get over excited by the dcs playroom and get everything off the shelves and out of the cupboards so just recovered from that - there is no way I could go upstairs with that mess there.Blush I am going to paint nails and have a rare night of TV. and mumsnet of course!Grin

shopafrolic · 09/11/2014 21:42

Evening all. Had a lovely early evening meal with DH, DS and GPs - feeling full and happy. We're now being complete Apple geeks and setting up all the new kit
No real fashion news here. Wore J Crew red cable knit, Goldsign Lures and Pistols. I picked up yet another plaid scarf in GAP today with the 40% off - but I can't find it online to link. Red and green......

MarshaBrady · 10/11/2014 09:53

One sorry to hear about the anniversary Thanks

Lovely day here.

Some good discounts in the Toast archive sale if anyone is looking for simple knitwear etc

bettykt · 10/11/2014 11:45

One glad you had dsis for company to get you through a difficult day Thanks

Lovely day here but am indoors, still sniffly WFH with no style news whatsoever wearing hareem pants and tank.

shopafrolic · 10/11/2014 12:34

One how are you doing today?
I've been EBaying like a crazy lady this morning to try and get the cash together to pay myself back for the leather trousers (not that I've paid Liberty yet!).
Get well soon Betty

shopafrolic · 10/11/2014 12:34

Have you been wearing the coat Marsha?

MarshaBrady · 10/11/2014 12:55

Shop I have, and after the initial shock I am so glad I bought it. I love it. So thanks all for for being on the journey with me Grin. I'm glad I was gently led towards buying it!

I might follow your lead though on the eBay, I have some stuff just sitting there in good condition.

Betty I hope you feel better soon.

I was also pondering what specific items would finish off my wardrobe, as much as it can be of course, given fashion, and I have decided that now I have found the peacoat I would like to find the

  • going out dress
  • riding boots
  • oversized tartan scarf
  • deep flat indigo, high rise skinnies

So Vogue question: have you got an idea of the perfect type of an item that is missing from your wardrobe?

shopafrolic · 10/11/2014 13:26

I need to find the perfect going out for dinner top to wear with skinny jeans and heels. I had a Joseph silk blouse in black but it is enormous on me now. it felt classic and good. I don't really do glitz and sparkles and would happily go out wearing a J Crew tee, skinnies and heels if I could......
So:

  1. Going out top
  2. Black blazer
  3. Party shoes - probably red heels
  4. Checked shirt
  5. Black or grey cashmere beanie
  6. Grey cashmere scarf
MarshaBrady · 10/11/2014 13:31

Nice list Shop

I'm going to add

  • the perfect going out to lunch outfit -> why is this so hard? I don't want to look worky or my usual sahm stuff for this one
  • and early drinks outfit -> slightly more eveningy but not quite cocktail dress
shopafrolic · 10/11/2014 13:35

YESSS My going out top is pretty much the going out for dinner when it's chilly and you want to wear smart jeans rather than a dress top.

MarshaBrady · 10/11/2014 13:45

Exacto! I'm on the look out now.

QueenCardigan · 10/11/2014 13:54

one hope you're ok.

I've just ordered this hat. I'm a sucker for a cloche and the old grey one I have looks a bit shabby this winter (it got squashed under a pile of clothes while stored away).

The things missing from my wardrobe are dresses/skirts. But that's due to either not finding them to fit or they look funny with my footwear Confused. There's a coulple of going out skirts that I'm tempted to order but I know that I dnt really need them and I'd be orderng as I'm pissed off/lonely because dh is away.

shop what about an equipment shirt? Or the uniqlo silk ones?

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 10/11/2014 14:08

Thinking of you One. I hope this week is a bit less busy for you and you feel better soon!

I have begun to fill the "going out top" hole in my wardrobe with the sparkly lacy River Island one I got last week. And actually I prefer dresses for going out, so one is probably enough for now.

I don't own any flat boots. Not sure if I really need any though, as I just wear Pistols for casual occasions.

What I really need to do is a mass order of underwear and tights but I can't bring myself to as it's so boring!

QueenC when is DH back? Link to the skirts and we'll dissuade you Wink

Shop I have been wearing my grey cashmere scarf from Other Stories loads and it's lovely - was only £40 and I was choosing between it and the Cos one.
