LOL at mink skirt Mom that really would be taking the fur trend to another level.

The website only has size 4 & 6 left, I may trawl back to westfield this avo.

I'm fascianted by your east London doughnut supplier - do they have a shop? I'm in that area and love to gorge on doughnuts

Mominatrix · 13/11/2014 12:30

There are 2 East London donut suppliers which are in a separate league. To give some background, I detest donuts in general - too stodgy, too sweet, and leave me feeling a bit sick. Then I tried a donut at a farmers' market a friend has set up, and I was hooked.

The better of the 2 is Bread Ahead. If you watched the recent Tom Kerridge series, one of the programmes featured Bread Ahead's donuts, which are sold at the Borough Market. Their custard donuts a pillow light with a smooth, light, and flavoursome custard. He does vanilla custard, chocolate custard, and praline custard, as well as other flavours. The baker is Justin Gellatly - ex head of St. John's Bakery, where he perfected the original IT donut. The problem is that they are administratively difficult to work with (need better admin support). As I needed someone to be reliable, I used St. John's Bakery. They are located in Bermondsey, but have an outpost near the Restaurant (they are the bakery arm to St. John's Restaurant). Their donuts, are a very close second to Justin's new venture. The difference in their custard donut, as per DS, is that it is more creamy than the Bread Ahead, which is more custardy. Do try both, but I warn you - the Bread Ahead one's are highly addictive.

Sleepwhenidie · 13/11/2014 16:44

While you are around Santa - please can you suggest a good place for lunch in Marylebone with my 2 very best girlfriends? Looked at Providores restaurant but that's a bit much and can't be bothered queuing and squashing in downstairs....

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 13/11/2014 16:45

Sleepwhenidie · 13/11/2014 16:46

LinusDKD · 13/11/2014 17:00

Oh and mom I am considering a trip to London just to try one of those doughnuts. I actually had seen the Tom Kerridge programma and was drooling the whole time.

I am actually not a huge fan of doughnuts but I LOVE the continental version called Boule de Berlin. Only the custard one though, not the jam one.

LinusDKD · 13/11/2014 17:00

I prefer cream blair Wink

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 13/11/2014 17:04

To be fair, after Mom's yummy doughnut post we could be talking about ice cream or something Grin

MarshaBrady · 13/11/2014 17:07

Cream!

libertychick · 13/11/2014 17:13

santamarianovella · 13/11/2014 17:31

Well ,it looks like I won't know till x mas now Hmm, dh kicked me out of the store and said he will pick one, we've been in there over an hour Blush ,
it's going to be my x mas gift,

The providores can get mad sometimes,

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 13/11/2014 17:37

Sorry to hear that Lib, hope you're ok?
The dress really did look amazing and would guarantee glam-ness at the MU. Definitely another try on required!

MarshaBrady · 13/11/2014 17:43

Liberty you looked so lovely in the Ted Baker dress. We'll have a glam time, even if you don't wear it btw

Santa I yelped Grin. We were in that store for an inordinate amount of time iirc!

Fedupnagging · 13/11/2014 18:07

Just on my way out- I thought you'd sent the dress back Lib but as you haven't, just wanted to say you looked lovely in it!

Don't do cream cakes or Danish pastries (except maple pecan slice)but love a good doughnut especially fresh jam doughnuts. May need to take a trip to borough market soon.

Drywhiteplease · 13/11/2014 18:13

Mom I'll try the Asian pesto feels like I'm running a restaurant at the mo
liberty I thought of you when I bought diffusers in prep for visitors this weekend Grin

Off to meeting at dcs school tonight in black and camel.....

Stokey · 13/11/2014 18:35

Doughnuts sound amazing Mom Iused to work very close to St john's but never ventured in not being a big meat eater. If I'd only known about the doughnuts. May have to venture south of the river to try Bread ahead.

iMaid Tea is genius Dry we should tradmark it.

LinusDKD · 13/11/2014 19:02

dry have a look at your message this morning!

santa I like your DH's style! Kicking you out of the store after ascertaining what you like. So it stays a surprise but you still know you will like it.
