I feel the same about earthy colours like camel, khaki and brown santa

They just drain all the colour out of my face. And even though I think I am a winter I am not sure now if I would want to be officially 'diagnosed' for fear of getting it wrong.

shop if you really can't wait I can bring some stuff back from the US for you?

Going away for the weekend is great but the travelling and drinking is exhausting.

Loving all the colours chat. I'm so happy that I got mine done and I'm loving wearing all my winter clothes. Id say I deginitely look my best in a cardigan. I'll have a proper look at those lipsticks later (not that I need anymore) but I now feel a bit naked without a fuschia lip.

blair you are I must be pretty similar although you are warm and I'm cool toned but we're both bright and on the edge of each other's seasons.
karbea having looked at your photo, you could be anything Grin. Being fair I come out as a summer in online quizzes but the brightness of winter colours or the deepest of navy definitely look best on me.

Karbea · 12/10/2014 21:04

I've done a few online quizzes this afternoon, from those I'm either summer or autumn. I know for a fact that pastel colours make me look wishy washy. I've a friend who is blonde too who looks great in them, whereas stronger colours look better on me.

queen I hate unpacking.

santamarianovella · 12/10/2014 21:45

Oh,there is a liberty loyalty event with %20 off, oh how cruel, and it says marant is not excluded Sad Sad, and I think most of the shoe department is not excluded too, oh it feels like a knife stab to the heart,

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 12/10/2014 22:03

Lol santa Grin

Karbea the table at the bottom of this page makes a lot of sense to me. It sounds like you need high chroma? If you know what other sorts of colours suit you (light vs dark or cool vs warm) then maybe you can narrow it down.

MarshaBrady · 13/10/2014 07:40

Ah Santa I thought of a Marant coat I'd like with that 20%.

libertychick · 13/10/2014 09:15

Morning all. On my way to work. I look so rubbish. Dressed in a hurry as DD is ill. Stripy jumper and a black a-line skirt. Decided to wear nude tights as thought opaques looked too much. Then decided to wear black brogues as I ran out the door as its raining and they are comfy. Just caught sight of my reflection and I look like a member of the 'call the midwife' cast. Dammit. And now I have to spend the rest of the day like this....
And my hair is like a birds nest!

BrandyAlexander · 13/10/2014 09:31

Oh dear, poor you Lib. And poor mini Lib.

I felt like that on Saturday. Walked out thinking I looked good (for a sick person) then caught sight of myself later and thought, no. Just no.Grin

libertychick · 13/10/2014 09:39

Thanks novice. Poor DD has a temp and a cough. I think I'll buy some opaques and change. It's the nude tights with brogues that are really off.

Totally jealous of a woman on the train. She is in a knee length black body con dress, a perfect, just the right amount longer than the dress, berry coloured wool coat and black Nike w white soles. Fab hair and v bright lips. She looks like someone who would get stopped on the street by a fashion mag.

libertychick · 13/10/2014 09:40

Sorry meant to ask are you better today novice. Are you still flying tomorrow?

libertychick · 13/10/2014 09:50

Dear God I have just now managed to ladder the hideous tights....

maradesbois · 13/10/2014 09:54

Morning all,

Back home from my travels & to 11 degrees grim grey weather. Wearing gap burgundy skinny khakis, white shirt, grey maison scotch tweed blazer (not a great fit meant to be loose and slouchy but shoulders annoy me), pistols & large black & silver Hermes bangle. Am coooold!

Lib I bet you don't look like a 1950s midwife, we are our own harshest critics. Hope your dd is feeling better soon & that work stress is not too much this week. Your new jeans sound fab btw.

Off to get haircut, will be back for a proper catch up later.

libertychick · 13/10/2014 10:44

A vague sense of style has been restored by the application of 1 pair of M&S Velvet Touch 60 tights and a lot of lipstick :)

Hope everyone has a good Monday.

libertychick · 13/10/2014 10:45

Welcome back Mara.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 13/10/2014 10:45

Morning!

Lib am sure you look lovely but I know the feeling when one thing is wrong and you just feel "off", especially if it's one of those days.

Forgot to say I did actually make some purchases on Saturday (spent with my sister, not much wedding dress talk this time though). A breton top in H&M - I love theirs as I need them to be fitted, just need to check the stripes line up! - and also a thick stretchy cream top that turned out to be off the shoulder. Not sure when I'll wear it as I thought it was boat neck, but now I'm thinking I need to get a midi skirt like Lib's.

Also a few cute things from Z for Accessorize, good for us gold wearing people (not Shop!). Sparkly pave studs, matching short necklace, and long spear pendant.

bettykt · 13/10/2014 11:09

Am pretty busy at the moment with no time for MN or even MNV Sad but I saw this and thought of Marsha navy pea coat

bettykt · 13/10/2014 11:10

Obviously was looking at clothes in the limited coffee break I give myself Grin

BrandyAlexander · 13/10/2014 11:16

Hi Betty, hi Mara!

Lib, no not flying, my PA cancelled it last week for my own good!Grin Went to the docs this morning and I need to rest over the next few days.

shopafrolic · 13/10/2014 12:34

Blimey Betty that is bargainous!
Novice glad to hear you've seen the doc sweetie x

Sleepwhenidie · 13/10/2014 13:10

I am home on sick duty with DD today too. I think she is more totally exhausted than ill. Lots of pictionary, DVD's and connect4 (with a bit of blog work and MN'etting in between Wink). At least the weather is appropriately horrible for staying in all day not to feel like a hardship Smile.

BrandyAlexander · 13/10/2014 13:16

Oh dear, poor mini Sleep! Shop is right that jacket is a great bargain. Dh says he's really worried about me as I have been in bed for 5 days and the credit cards aren't getting used. cheeky bugger!

shopafrolic · 13/10/2014 13:19

you know what to do then Novice
Get well soon minisleep
I just picked up DS from school and he had the most epic tantrum when he got back so I think another exhausted little one here too Hmm

Sleepwhenidie · 13/10/2014 13:22

I'm sure you'll make up for it when you recover novice Wink!

Stokey · 13/10/2014 13:56

Hope all the little people are feeling better.

I don't think it's stopped raining today here - was very uncool on the school run in Northface jacket but impossible to hold an umbrella and dd2 on her scooter, she's only 2.5 and is just getting up to speed.

Karbea you look lovely.

I get a bit confused with the whole colour make-up thing. Just before I had my colours done DH bought me some Charlotte Tilbury make-up for hazel eyes in green and gold. So as a winter these are a total no-no, but they defintely bring out the green in my (mainly brown) eyes.
