mara, I have some very fixed ideas about my dress now, which may be a bad thing. People always say they tried on a few dresses until they found "the one", but had they browsed hundreds of dresses online before that because they couldn't go shopping yet?! What if I am going to be too fussy now?

Anyway, I would like a sheath shape, with an illusion neckline (mesh or lace), boatneck, preferably 3/4 length sleeves, short train. Of course I can't find anything that fits all these criteria.

Just popping back to say phew Dry . Btw a mini-boast, in New Orleans last year a lady said to me 'my gad, y'all look like a young Julianne Moore'. Glad she added the young as while JM looks much younger than her age think she's well into her 50s .

I can't really join in with the dress and leggings debate. When you're short waisted and just, well.....short like me, they are usually best avoided!

I wore this Roland Mouret Banana Republic dress with my Valentino boots today. Bling was gucci watch, tennis bracelet and the tanzanite and diamond halo ring I never describe properly! Lots of compliments, which was lovely.

shop it would be nice to hear what stylist says,I think your style is very you, and perfect as it is, but if she says that you should wear colours that make your eyes pop, or add this scarf for a little pop of coluor, then I will personally hunt her down and wash her mouth with soap,

linus I remember it had geometric prints on it, no it wasn't me at all, I came to the conclusion that for evening i can't do full on pretty,it has to be of a nonchalant nature undone and not looking perfect or constructed,otherwise I feel uneasy.

I keep being told I should wear leggings instead of tights to keep me warm but I think leggings make me look dumpy and frumpy. I don't find them all that comfortable either. Opaques all the way for me.

with bridal dresses,you will always think there is a better one out there,or maybe if you looked more you would've found a nicer one....etc,

As long as leggings are not used as trousers,then its ok in my book,

It's very chilly here this morning but I bet it warms up this afternoon. must work out how to dress accordingly. Think I'll wear a dress and cardigan under my coat as my coat can always go in my rucksack later on if it does warm up.

OMG, how expensive are textbooks?! I think my library card is going to get one hell of a bashing, been looking this morning at book prices and even the kindle editions are very expensive.

chilly here too. Am wearing me & em ruched dress in blue, black RB suede shoo boots and grey mulberry suede bag which I have been using for about 3 weeks

I can't believe the cost of books Novice! Definitely going to make use of the fact that I can take out 15 books at a time and renew twice without having to go into the library!

Just wore ballet flats on the school run. My feet actually turned blue! I need to dig out my gloves too. Yesterday though it was 9 degrees on the morning run and 29 by afternoon.

santa I'll have to disagree about the eye popping thing. I didn't think it was possible until I realised wearing bright pink lipstick and bright clothes. Sometimes I think the colours thing is a load of mumbo jumbo but I definitely look better in cool brights much as I'd love to do the pared down neutral palette.

Anyone else got iOS 8 now? I'm finding it really annoying and it seems to autocorrect a lot more.

queen yes I'm using it, it keeps freezing a lot, I thought upgrading is supposed to fix it, my mail takes along ,long time to download too,

I'm not downloading iOS8 until they get through the first few weeks of bug fixes. I know too many people who've lost their contacts and/or photos.

IOS 8 sucks big time! I usually wait to download like shop but for some reason I did it a couple of days ago.

I switched off the autocorrect in my keyboard settings as it was doing my head in.

Only 11 degrees here today and a freezing wind. But blue sky and sunshine so not all bad.

I am wearing my Jimmies, ls AV Jacksonville tee and some Tod's ballet flats with bare feet. Oh and my coatigan as I froze just putting the DC in the car to go to the supermarket.

I've been thinking about lounge wear (horrible phrase) as I like to get changed when I get back from work and sometimes jeans just aren't slouchy enough. Think I'm coveting the Hush long harems, not quite ready for the JC tracksuit.

I'm also still on the look out for flats. The Frugality was wearing these burgundy ones which I really like. I liked the Boden t-bar ones too but they're sold out. Anyone seen any other good flats? Mine need to be tube worthy.
