Shop yes I'm keeping the pistols, made dh look again and he said keep so given the cost I'm going with it.

But I sent back the Crisi boots in the end! Then I felt like I had a vogue confession to make. Grin

AmberNectarine · 22/09/2014 19:08

I'm wearing leggings right now. Admittedly as loungewear, but I expect to be banished from the thread back to 2004 in due course.

shopafrolic · 22/09/2014 19:12

Boo hiss! If I'd known I'd have been tempted to buy them off you I love mine so much! :)

OP posts:
Drywhiteplease · 22/09/2014 19:13

Now as loungewear they are acceptable AmberGrin

Drywhiteplease · 22/09/2014 19:13

am about to don my Juicy Couture velour purple track suit

LinusDKD · 22/09/2014 19:27

marsha Shock! You returned the IM boots?!

Do you feel better now you've come clean? Wink

amber that is the best response ever!

MarshaBrady · 22/09/2014 19:32

Yes Linus yes I do Grin

I know, I know they are highly loved. I really wanted to keep them in my mind, but then didn't, so they went back.

But I do feel better about how much I've spent in any case!

santamarianovella · 22/09/2014 19:36

Ooh! No shop why would you think that!!! Sad, i give my honest opinion when anyone asks for it, and I expect the same thing from you all,and I appreciate it, i was just about to come in here to ask if you feel better , and ready for your style day tomorrow?

marsha Speaking of secret unreported returns, I sent back the DFV dress I bought from matches sale in jan, think linus, decam ( who I think bought it first)and few other lurkers got it as it soldout very quickly , it just didn't seem like something I can wear , I looked in the mirror and honestly all I saw was Sofia vergara from modern family minus boobs, they went ASAP Grin

shopafrolic · 22/09/2014 19:46

Phew Santa good to hear.
I have 2 days left on the ABs and am not feeling great today TBH. Really looking forward to tomorrow morning though. Although it will be a nightmare if my colours / style aren't inline with her suggestions. I'm looking forward to seeing how she views my wardrobe is though. I've come along way style wise in 3 years!

well I ordered a faux fur jacket from House of Fraser but sadly it is going back.

There is a bit of a problem in that I am quite in need of emphasising my waist or else I look like Mr Blobby, I need just the right amount of crop

(wondering why pistols are called pistols, aimlessly).

I have a wonderful short Welsh wool cape thing but the lining needs mending, sadly.

I also have a black feather cape, I suppose that might do.

MarshaBrady · 22/09/2014 19:53

Shop I'm sure you'll be on a par with the stylist now and then some. Will be great to hear how it goes.

I absolutely love the opinions on here, I hold them in high regard and I'm SO grateful you've all saved me from some terrible clangers. It makes my day to have it.

Good one Santa, feels better to let it out huh Grin

Any more Vogue confessions re returns?

shopafrolic · 22/09/2014 19:59

She asked me if, once we had identified gaps in my wardrobe, I'd like her to shop for items for me. I said - no thanks, I have a bunch of willing volunteers who I can brief! She was well impressed with the Great Breton Hunt Grin
You guys are the first people I go to for advice about what suits me now - you're much more honest than my other friends. I'm very grateful for that honesty.

LinusDKD · 22/09/2014 20:05

I like your honest feedback as well, especially as we all have different bodyshapes, are different ages and have different styles.

santa is it the DvF wrap dress in blue/black/cream leopard print? I love that dress and wear it a lot when I go out but I can't really picture you in it.

Topazandpearl · 22/09/2014 20:06

Hello everyone! I have been offline due to work and visiting relatives. My dpils were here to celebrate dmil's 80th birthday. We have had a lovely few days with much wining and dining (back on the 5:2 tomorrow). Now it is time for me to catch up.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 22/09/2014 20:15

Hi Topaz :)

I have been having an epic trying on session with the Aquazzuras. Got a work do on Thursday and I think I'm going to debut them. Probably going to end up paying for taxis for my colleagues to accompany me to the venue(s), but never mind!

Shop I think you really know your style and I would be surprised if she thinks you are a Winter. sorry to hear you're not feeling that good still, only 2 days to go and hopefully things will get better.

Dry do you really have a JC tracksuit? If so, that is totally fabulous Grin

How annoying here, I hate it when you need a very specific item at short notice. Can you not get the cape lining mended in time?

QueenCardigan · 22/09/2014 20:51

Hi topaz, I was wondering about you today.

In the evenings I don't even bother with loungewear. I just get into pjsGrin.

Confession here-ordered 2 cardigans but taking them both back as one is not the right colour and the other is virtually the same as one I own. also may have ordered a new blouse.

shop from when I've met you your style and colours really seem to suit you. Even if the stylist does suggest something different you don't necessarily need to take her advice. I can't wait to hear what she does say though.

So, v quick question: dh is watching Spider-Man. I think Kirsten dunst is prettier in the other Spider-Man films than emma stone in this one. Agree or not.....?

QueenCardigan · 22/09/2014 20:52

emma stone

QueenCardigan · 22/09/2014 20:55

Kirsten dunst

To be fair, they are both v pretty but Kirsten just edges it for me.

Drywhiteplease · 22/09/2014 21:11

Sorry QueenC neither does it for me. I find Stone a bit scary (although my dcs both love her). Dunstable is a bit meh.

My style goddess muse Julianne Moore is looking amazing in You magazine though.

Shop your stylist day sounds interesting. Really look fwd to feedback. But if she says different to the colour person who will you believe? Wonder if she'll be more style rather than colour Hmm

I agree about MNV (leather skirt, camel coat etc) honesty opinions . I think with RL friends, there's history, you get pigeon holed, there's a fear of causing offence etc whereas, because we all met initially on a fashion forum, and we didn't really know much about each other other than our style preferences, we can be more honest because that's the point. When one of us asks "does this suit me?" We really mean that, sometimes in RL with older friends this question can be riddled with hidden meanings etc.......phew

Blair no I don't really have a purple JC track suit. Not really me is it Grin. Big fleecy dressing gown and slippers. Must work on my lounge wear.....I have clothes and pjs, nothing in between.

OneLittleLady · 22/09/2014 21:11

I love Kirsten with red hair, she is very very pretty. I'm not honestly sure if I've ever seen Emma Stone in anything so don't really know who she is though she too is very pretty

Drywhiteplease · 22/09/2014 21:12

Dunstable Grin???? Never been there.....sorry anyone living there Grin

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 22/09/2014 21:14

I agree QueenC, Kirsten is pretty, but I would call Emma attractive rather than pretty. She has stronger features.

Classic comment from DP tonight (sorry to go on!): "I'm not really keen on white dresses"

WHATTTTTT?! I told him he'd better make an exception...

QueenCardigan · 22/09/2014 21:17

I should have said that dh thinks Emma is prettier.

blair presumably he wasn't referring to wedding dresses but just white dresses in general?

maradesbois · 22/09/2014 21:19

Evening,

Dry do you? I can't picture that Grin.

Leggings. Hmm. Not keen except as loungewear etc as already mentioned. For me they would be an excuse to let myself go, sometimes the nip of a too-tight jean is the gentle reminder I need to hit the gym! I did have some fab high waisted TS maternity ones though, a really thick fabric with no baggy knees or bum nor see-through.

Shop looking forward to hearing about your stylist day too. Can't believe anyone could tell you not to wear your autumn colours that are so you but maybe she'll give you more ideas to add to the mix.

Topaz great to hear from you. Glad all is well.

Surprised that Marsha returned the Marant boots too but glad to hear the lovely pistols are keepers. I was desperate for fur lined boots last winter and made a couple of mistakes which luckily realised in time and returned. The worst were Ash ones, wedge heels but far too chunky, made my feet look like (furry) bricks even in a size 38. I also got some Stella biker ones that were nice but £££ for mmf.

QueenC forgot to say thanks for your lovely links yesterday. I love your Sunday morning fantasy shopping too. I don't know re K Dunst re Emma Stone, ES is more all-American & KD a bit cooler but KD irrationally annoys me ever since my friend saw her in Paris years ago filming the Sophia Coppola Marie-Antoinette film and said she was being a diva...

Blair glad you enjoyed the wedding fair, did you get any more ideas about your dress?

Off to watch Downton Abbey in bed, bliss.
