Wow Blair you're brave. I love all of my stuff and would be gutted if DH told me he hated something I'd been wearing for years.

Oh santa so harsh. I guess at least he was honest .

I think dh likes most of my stuff. He hated the bright lipsticks initially but has got used to them. Years ago I had a red jumper that he hated and told me every time I wore it.

Dry it was more of a "can you remember any comments you've made?" and neither of us could, so there can't have been anything that bad (other than the infamous "you look wide in those jeans", but he doesn't hate them).

Yay, my tickets to NY have been booked. I won't be flying with DH on my way there so I'm a bit nervous about flying alone.

Pre DC I used to fly alone all the time but that was years ago so it will feel weird. I will try and enjoy the peace and quiet and the fact I won't have to entertain/keep quiet small children.

Anyone have any restaurant recommendations?

Linus how exciting. Yes I'd be the same I think, then hopefully I would appreciate the relaxing flight with no restless children, have a g&t and watch a movie. Are you flying over night?

NY in October, sounds so perfect, all the leaves will be gorgeous in Central Park.

Morning! I am having the travel morning from hell. not at work yet. I thought I would be there really early!

Linus - child free and not having to work on the plane = bliss.

Sarabeth's is great for Sunday brunch. If you or dh are big meat eaters then cross over to Brooklyn and go to the institution that is Peter Luger.

If you're anyway in midtown Bryant Park is quite good.

If you're going towards Upper West side eg museums then go to Freds for brunch (oh and like pictures of dogs! ). its simple not fancy. v special place in my heart.

My DH hates my dungarees and doesn't like anything patterned which precludes pretty much my whole wardrobe. Luckily I don't give a flying fig what he thinks! Which is fortunate, as last year he told me my bottom had got bigger since having children. I said it was a shame his penis hadn't and no more was said on that subject.

Oh Amber that's the perfect comeback!

Marsha I know, I still bring it up sometimes to make him feel bad. My bum/thighs are my widest part (an extreme example would be Kim Kardashian) and they were my boyfriend jeans. But still! (To be fair, you don't see Kim in boyfriend jeans.)

I'm v happy this morning as I scored my long-awaited Michael Kors Trio lookalike from the outnet, it's not the navy I wanted but never mind. After being told in the US that they stopped making it last year I thought I'd never get it!

Sun is shining here, am trying to put a shit weekend behind me, onwards & upwards!

Linus that is so exciting about NY. I am travelling with dh next week but same situation separate flights. Mine is Air France (or will be if these striking pilots get back to work). Business class + alone + no work to do = bliss .

In NY we love Oceana restaurant. The food is good and setting is pretty cool. Also cocktails at the Plaza for a bit of old NY.

It was 7 c this morning, freezing! Wore APC shirt , rick Owens jacket, and frame skinnies and boots,decided to take a scarf as I was leaving, glad I did ,was shivering by the time I was done with drop off,

I'm just about to return the loafers, will look into scarves too, want a big blanket style one but plain,

blair I'm glad you put them right on the leggings thread as I was about to say domething too. I'm so glad that we're all so supportive here of our sartorial choices. I really value your opinions as you're all constructively honest but some people on other threads are just harsh.

I thought someone had better say something, as I feel we don't need any bad press on here (obv we're all lovely, but whenever a bag thread kicks off there are inevitable comments about "the high spenders on Vogue" or whatever)

Ha ha at Amber's retort to dh! Wish, wish I'd thought to say that the time my oh causally remarked that whenever I put on weight it goes straight to the arse! To be fair it was his response to the 'trap' question 'do you think I've put on weight?'

Have to say iv binned all mine now though.

I haven't seen the leggings thread but will have to check it out.

When I put on weight it goes around my middle (so attractive!) and if dh pokes me as he walks past, or says something when I'm not as trim as I'd like. Well, let's just say he won't be making that mistake too often if he values his life .

I take it back, have just read the legging thread, and don't feel it was snide at all, just a comment.
I used to love leggings and dresses, brilliant for this mad weather.
I don't recall the phrase actually used, but a while ago I did ask whether the look was passé ....that may be what they are referring to.

Oh, it was absolutely freezing here this morning, I went out in a coat and scarf and wished I'd put my gloves on!

No it wasn't snide, just a mistake, but I won't allow my fellow voguettes to be libelled on the internet

Dry someone on another thread said it, not us, and they were talking about footless tights anyway.

I actually loathe legging.....loathe them without bum coverage, ESP when they're a bit thin, vpl and cellulite showing through....I'm taking over from Joan Rivers as the fashion police ......"NO YOU CANT WEAR THAT!"
