Today I have been mostly wearing uniqlo navy and fuschia strip Breton, boyfriend jeans, navy cons and electric blue northface raincoat! (1/2 term ventures in the south west)...

SorrelForbes · 27/10/2014 23:38

Today I wore boyfriend jeans with my new cobalt stilettos and a bluer
vest under a white and navy blue Hobbs breton. Too warm for a jacket.

MissScatterbrain · 28/10/2014 07:16

Have just read this link re universal colours which I thought I would post on here in the light of recent posts.

SchlomoZahary · 28/10/2014 08:47

NC regular poster - Mr P

I'm also keen for blue boots though hadn't thought about how they would with jeans. I also think leather would be more practical than suede but I do love the navy ash jalouse.

What size are you Sorel ? - a good deal on my wardrobe - use WIT25 for an extra 25% off but limited sizes left.

Today am wearing grey hush harems, purple boden cowl neck top and uniqlo damson cardigan. Looks bright and sunny here Smile

Stokey · 28/10/2014 10:14

Ah I was just thinking about buying them Schlomo but the code has expired (and can't really justify them). Actually was drooling over some of the £300 plus boots but will be down to Office for cheap copies instead!

I was also going to buy some Hush harems finally but they are now out of stock - typical.

I'm wearing this black & white Reiss dress today with opaques and black suede ankle boots. Second last day at work so thought I'd better break out the work wear before I finish!

Stokey · 28/10/2014 10:45

Oooh DMBL40 has another code for My Wardrobe Hello20

I think maybe I need some black leather ones more than midnight blue suede though.. tricky decisions.

MissScatterbrain · 28/10/2014 14:42

Have ordered the Jacquard Spot top from Boden as got a £15 voucher from Johnnie combined with a 30% sale - hopefully this will be a good going out top that can be worn in summer as well as winter.

Stokey · 28/10/2014 15:53

Nice top MissS Johnnie is good with his vouchers.

They have some great big scarfs in winter colours in & Other Stories. I tried on a green silk mini dress which hangs really well. This green silk would be good for a posh party (sadly I don't have any on the horizon!).

SorrelForbes · 28/10/2014 16:30

Bought this All Saints dress today. It had another 20% off too. The colour is ink, a dark charcoal really. It's lovely on and looked better tied at the back. The sides bits add a bit of interest which is good for my Romantic Classic styling.

fooogle · 28/10/2014 19:55

stokey what ll be the office copies then? hoping someone else ll find my dream boot for me

Today mostly in charcoal grey cos sweatshirt type top, boyfriend jeans and grey didrikson Mary coat. Bit lacking brights, annoyed by my coats cream hood lining!

SorrelForbes · 28/10/2014 23:05

I love that green silk dress (well I would, it has sleeves!). I wonder how the waist sits? Lots of dresses seem to be very high waisted at the moment.

Thanks for the voucher codes. I'm they have my size in the Jalouse. I'm very tempted but am wondering how much of a different 'look' they will give compared to my woodash ones?

QueenCardigan · 29/10/2014 07:43

I bought those midnight jalouse last year but sent them back as they're quite distressed looking which annoyed me.

Still dithering about navy boots. I'm up north on hols at the moments so not much fashion going on with me. It's suprisingly warm though.

I'll try and catch up on links now but Internet access is patchy.

I think navy is a bit tough QueenC . It depends what else you have and how navy your jeans are. And do you wear them with navy tights or black tights?

I've just had a quick look Fooogle and these in black look a little jalouse-y to me, around £55 with the 20% discount and these but with a tassle. No midnight blue I'm afraid.
Maybe burgundy is a better bet than navy QueenC? I quite like these ones or these Chelsea ones.

MissScatterbrain · 29/10/2014 11:36

I am probably another faux gamine - not been diagnosed but had a lightbulb moment when I had my hair cut pixie style...suddenly I looked like "me".

I doubt I am a full gamine as there are aspects that I don't feel comfortable wearing - e.g peter pan collars, ruffles, florals etc. Also I wear fairly strong makeup (eyeliner & red lippy). I am certainly not "sweet" either!

I wear blazers, crew neck cardigans, skinny/slim fit trousers, loafers, ankle boots and the only patterns I wear are stripes and occasionally spots. I am a real sucker for breton tops.

MissScatterbrain · 29/10/2014 11:37

That berry coloured bag is gorgeous :)

MissScatterbrain · 29/10/2014 11:38

Ignore my last two posts Blush read the first page instead of the last one....

ItIsntJustAPhase · 29/10/2014 11:44

Sounds like dramatic gamine, MissS. Grin

AsBrightAsAJewel · 29/10/2014 11:52

OK Winters! Please help me and talk to me about belts. I'm a jewel winter, gamine ingénue. Never normally wear them but have decided I ought to get a couple;

  1. to hold my trousers up! Shape change means casual trousers that fit my bum gape at the waist and slip down to reveal undies (not a nice look for someone my age!)
  2. to accent colour outfits. (quite fancy a red or bright pink one) I was told at my style day I need slim belts with small buckles/details and that they should (I assume in the accent case not hold your jeans up case) be worn lower at the front. SO the hunt was started and I can't find a thing. I have seen the occasional navy or black boring belt - but often with a gold or brass coloured buckle. Where do you get nice belts from?
fooogle · 30/10/2014 18:32

Thanks for the boot tip stokey, I've ordered the black ash type ones... Will see!

asbrightas I'm not great on belts, have only got a couple and often get uncomfortable with them on in a decorative way as then they slip round and misbehave! I've heard of a site called once upon a belt and tk maxx often has good random options though I love a good charity rummage myself too Grin.

SorrelForbes · 30/10/2014 18:34

Uniqlo has re-stocked it's collarless silk shirts (and they're still at £29.95) so I've had to order the navy version Grin

QueenCardigan · 30/10/2014 19:01

Just a quick catch up.....
I've got good coloured belts from hobbs but also look at John Lewis website. Uniqlo and esprit sometimes have them too.

Still dithering about navy boots Grin....

AsBrightAsAJewel · 30/10/2014 20:10

Thank you. There's a nice pink one on Hobbs website, but they have sold out of my size. Once Upon a Belt looks promising - I especially like the interchangeable buckle ones. Will order and let you know!

SorrelForbes · 30/10/2014 21:12

I've just spent a pleasant hour browsing the web looking at vintage evening dresses. Be honest, is £34K too much to spend on a dress? Shock

AsBrightAsAJewel · 30/10/2014 21:19

Oh my, Sorrel - what wonderful clothes on that site! When I win the lottery ....

SorrelForbes · 30/10/2014 21:24

I'm now looking at some wonderful creations on www.thefrock.com.
It appears that everyone in ye olden days had small busts Grin
