these hm shoes are a bit like the j crew ones - not many sizes left though.

I keep seeing the target dry coats recommended - would this green work for us?

Look forward to the spree links QC !

carrie74 · 22/10/2014 13:34

Didn't share today's outfit:

Black wide legged smart trousers, white crew neck LS tee underneath green J Crew Tippi jumper. Hudson Mirar black boots. Am at work.

Am looking forward to the kids breaking up (today). I'm juggling about 25 things at the moment and could do with school stuff not being one of them for a change! Of course it all gears up again as Xmas approaches - ARGH!!!

carrie74 · 22/10/2014 14:02

Crikey MrPop, they're identical!! Still not supportive, alas (and don't think my orthotic innersoles would be well disguised...).

That green looks good, too, could be a go-er...

QueenCardigan · 22/10/2014 16:59

Love that North face chester

Sadly I can't link the White stuff spree as none of its online except this. Shock at the price but I really like it. Also got a royal purple blouse and a navy blouse which was reduced. I'm going to return a skirt I bought. It's lovely velvet in a damson/berry colour but it looked rubbish with my shoes.

For practical coat I've got a didrikson parka type thing in grey. Can't remember which model. It's not super exciting but is v warm and dry. That target one looks pretty good too.
I shall mostly be wearing wellies and my parka next week I think; off to Cornwall for half term...
Today wore, dp skinny black trousers and chinese blue blouse from Sainos! Quite liked the combo though it's synthetic and think I was pretty 'fragrant' Blush by the end of the day!

didireallysaythat · 22/10/2014 19:36

I've been eyeing up a didrikson myself ! A little jealous of skinny black trousers though - I'm supposed to do boot cut or nothing (plus there weren't 'any women in the room' who could still do skinnies). Pass me my thermals. In black of course !

ForSaleChesterDraws · 22/10/2014 21:19

I've bought the North Face one in grey. DH has a similar one and its lasted years. I've bought crap ones for the last few years and none have managed to whole winters, so hopefully this will last. I Looked at Didriksons and couldn't find any without furry hoods. I hate soggy furry bits!!

fooogle · 23/10/2014 00:30

Yes forsale, I had a different didrikson which had a fur hood trim; I was able to unbutton it to take off as yep, in rain it's rubbish!

didireallysaythat · 23/10/2014 07:13

fooogle and forsale I hadn't thought about a wet furry hood... My north face is coming up on 16 years old though and is starting to look a little shabby (not to mention it's the wrong blue..) Maybe the quest continues...

fooogle · 24/10/2014 03:54

didireally, yep wet fur not fun. My didrikson is a 'Mary' I think. It's kind of an outdoor cool kind of thing, boringly excellent.
Yesterday I was mostly wearing, zara distressed skinnies, uniqlo top Breton grey and black stripe, navy cons... A 'mummy day' outfit.

MissScatterbrain · 24/10/2014 15:29

Black & grey striped gap top, indigo jumper and old black jeans from Next & ankle boots today with blazer & MN scarf.

Had my hair cut even shorter and I feel like my clothes & make up look even more coordinated so I am convinced that I am part gamine.

The purple top that I bought the other day...

I'm loving what I've been wearing recently. I now have a great selection of grey and navy tops to wear with all my cardis. Today I wore mid grey top with damson cardi. Yesterday I wore it with a pine green cardi although that was probably not quite a bright enough combination for me.

Navy top that I bought...

Do any of you have navy boots?

OP posts:
MissScatterbrain · 24/10/2014 18:48

No but saw some gorgeous navy ankles boots in M&S including a couple of western style boots and chelsea style boots.

Navy and Oxblood seem to be the colours to wear for boots/bags this season.

AsBrightAsAJewel · 24/10/2014 18:48

Nice tops QueenC - where did you get them?

SorrelForbes · 24/10/2014 18:55

No, I haven't but I fancy a pair of Ash Jalouse in the midnight shade. TBH though, a leather pair would be more practical!

I tried this Crew jumper today in silver/grey. Alas, the 12 was too big and the 8 was much, much too small. Sad

QueenCardigan · 24/10/2014 20:25

The tops were from my white stuff spree the other day.

So, if you did have navy boots what would you wear them with? I love navy boots but when I put them on with my jeans they just seem to look weird Confused. Maybe it's because my jeans are the same sort if colour.

OP posts:
AsBrightAsAJewel · 24/10/2014 20:30

Thank you - both tops are lovely. I rarely visit White Stuff but have a trip to town planned early next week, so I'll have a closer look at their current stock. Hopefully I'll find something good too!

ItIsntJustAPhase · 25/10/2014 07:08

I'd love a pair of navy boots to wear with grey skirts, grey skinnies, and perhaps other coloured bottoms when I'm wearing navy on the top half.

Clackety · 25/10/2014 09:46

Has anyone seen any ice colours recently in tops/tees? I'm loathe to spend £37 at kettlewell on a tee shirt top but I need high contrast between my navy and black cardigans.

White would do but I can't find a white top to go under a cardi anywhere.. Shirts look all lumpy. I'm a 30f

ItIsntJustAPhase · 25/10/2014 12:10

Top tip. Buy a cheap Primary stretchy top in white and then add it to a dark wash. I got a lovely ice blue top that way. Grin

Stokey · 27/10/2014 11:07

Great tip Itisn'tjustaphase

I just bought a Boden white scoop neck t-shirt Clackety. I'm a similar size to you (28G) and got an 8, it's a good fit. I also got a layering one from there in grey.

I'm thinking of buying a Hush dress in the sale but not sure whether to go blue striped or burgundy. What do you wise winters think? I already have this burgundy one so am l;eaning to the blue but not sure the colours are quite right.

MissScatterbrain · 27/10/2014 17:50

I would wear navy boots with my cord/denim skirts and jeans - a navy jacket/coat would be good as well I think.

Fab dresses Stokey - the blue is more of a french navy but if you like it that much, go for it - I am sure if you wear it with a black top and black tights that will help.

Wearing a primark pine green stretchy top with a pale grey jumper, black trousers and black blazer today. Plum nails and black ankle boots.
