Continuing. From here some of us may have jetted off to far flung foreign parts, but we're still friendly, fabulous even in the heat wave and full of frivolous fashion talk. Come and join us Smile

Drywhiteplease · 01/08/2014 14:06

Thank you Blair the first link is right colour wise, am looking for a pashmina type wrap.

Lol Dry yes i ment it as a compliment, it does feel strange to think that peeps are reading threads without making themselves known, I guess that is online communication for you.

Any way lovely ladies I think that the sun is a calling, hope all are enjoying wearing summer sun clothes, doesn't it feel wonderful to have our feet out and stockings/tights packed away? I would be happy for this weather to continue until November at least.

MarshaBrady · 01/08/2014 16:13

Hi Oldhag (bet you're not btw!) welcome and stick around, and a compliment indeed.

Shop how is your ds?

Santa is that the yellow stripe MiH one? I liked that, can imagine it with APC shorts.

Linus how's your staycation going? That is hot!

QueenC I think low - medium carb could be good for holidays? Means you can eat regularly and maintain rather than lose, as Liberty says you look fabulous right now.

Sleep sounds lovely.

Have had a lovely two days, lunch yesterday then out last night to posh bar in Mayfair with friends, had a laugh and fortunately my idea to go on elsewhere was squashed as had a pitch this morning! Then met dh for lunch today. My word all my work funds are going on the semblance of a high life. Tsk

QueenCardigan · 01/08/2014 16:34

Welcome oldhag. I find it really strange that people follow our inane conversations Grin.

Got totally soaked at the zoo this afternoon so now sitting here all cosy in pjs and dressing gown. Uniqlo hoodie has arrived and I love it. So much so that I'm thinking of getting another to wear as lounge wear although will see how it washes first.

I am going to give up fasting over the hols. I tend to be pretty low carb anyway unless there's a loaf of fresh bread available and then I wolf the lot! I discussed it with dh and we both agreed that it's best for dd whilst she's at an impressionable age.

one hugs to you my lovely.

Drywhiteplease · 01/08/2014 20:47

"Inane conversations" QueenC Shock this is a very high brow forum where we analyse the impact of seemingly frivolous fashion on the female psyche and how the subconscious signals we emanate via our clothing choices influence how we are seen by society as a whole.

Fuck me I need to lie down Grin

yes I occasionally swear

P.s linus "doing a linus" = Jimmies, Madewell top, Gigis just so you know, so you can dress as yourself !!!!

Hear, hear Dry Grin

Welcome oldhag, stick around. Unfortunately I can't help with your query but I think there will be more scarves around in a few weeks. But if I see something I will link it Smile

BrandyAlexander · 01/08/2014 21:20

Evening all! What a day! Back to back meetings from 9am to 6pm including a pitch meeting. Marsha, hope yours went well!

Dry, please can you link the Madewell top for me?

Hello Oldhag and a special wave to any lurkersSmile

As it was slightly cooler today I wore this Armani belted shift dress with RB blue suede court shoes. I also got to use this Prada bag which if anyone remembers is the one where I was livid with myself as I paid £200 more for it. I haven't actually used it for a few months as it more of an autumn winter colour. But it was appropriately formal for my pitch meeting. I have a really important meeting on Monday which I spent 1.5 hours being coached through. I have now spent 3 hours rehearsing for this meeting, it's 30 minutes!Shock Anyway need to outfit think before Monday!

After 3 weeks, we were finally allowed back in the lounge. They will finish it on Monday but still...hurrah!

Drywhiteplease · 01/08/2014 21:33

here Novice but mine is black

Drywhiteplease · 01/08/2014 21:36

Novice it's the Madewell Memento tank here but mine is black. Can't find it anywhere

OP posts:
libertychick · 01/08/2014 21:48

Nice dress Novice. I notice you have Russell and Bromley shoeboots on your workwear board - I have pinned the same ones as possible AW buys - are they comfy? these ones

You have definitely prepared well enough for the meeting, hope it goes well.

BrandyAlexander · 01/08/2014 22:02

Thanks Dry. Do you think it will suit me? I am no Katie Price but I am 28E so booby. Don't want to look matronly!

Lib, love love love the shoe boots. They were one of my best buys of 2013. In fact I got the suede and normal boots. They are soooo comfy, I wore them religiously during aw13.

BrandyAlexander · 01/08/2014 22:06

Aaargh Lib has tempted me to think boots. choo bikers or RB bikers is going to be Septembers BIG decision!Grin

LinusDKD · 01/08/2014 22:06

Evening!

Welcome oldhag (another one who feels awkward writing that)

Have you had a look at DKNY Cozy's? They might have some in your colour. I have a blue one and it's very versatile and lovely and soft.

novice I've got dry's Madewell top in white and cobalt and I love both of them.

marsha staycation is going well but I would have preferred not to have any guests. Our second lot of guests arrived today (should have arrived yesterday) and I really am fed up playing hostess even though they are lovely. I just want some time to myself.

liberty no scarf for me Sad ?

BrandyAlexander · 01/08/2014 22:07

You poor thing Linus!!

LinusDKD · 01/08/2014 22:07

novice Choos Choos Choos! Wink

BrandyAlexander · 01/08/2014 22:11

Yes but RB, which I love as a brand are £400 cheaper!!

LinusDKD · 01/08/2014 22:16

You have to try them on and see which ones look best.

I was never into biker boots not really a rock chick kinda gal until I tried the Choos.

They are the perfect height for people with short legs like me and I seriously love them.

I don't own any R&B shoes apart from the gold ballerina's I bought there last minute to wear on my wedding day in case my proper wedding shoes (gold J Choo strappy sandals) started to hurt. Boy, did they come in handy after having worn my heels for more than 12 hours straight)

Drywhiteplease · 01/08/2014 22:19

Not sure Novice... I'm flat chested, it's quite triangular in shape and swingy, narrow at shoulders and wider at waist iykwim.....you're v petite it should be ok, but with a bigger chest it could hang unflatteringly....... linus what do you think?

OP posts:
libertychick · 01/08/2014 22:25

Sorry Linus Smile. How about this beauty

Novice I have a footwear dilemma too. I had decided to buy the R&B ballet flats but now I am thinking the shoeboots would be a much better A/W purchase and leave the ballet flats until next spring. The suede version are gorgeous.

LinusDKD · 02/08/2014 07:20

Morning!

I'm not quite hungover but feeling a bit fragile.

Lovely scarf liberty, I might pin it on my A/W wishlist.

Not sure about the Madewell top dry and novice. I am a B cup so I can't really help.

Wearing my Jimmies and a Boden V-neck tee today as it seems a bit colder this morning. Will probably have to change mid-morning as it turned out to be another scorcher yesterday.

I haven't bought/ordered anything online in ages and am starting to miss parcels being delivered, is that bad? Wink

QueenCardigan · 02/08/2014 08:11

novice I know what you mean about tops like that. I love them but as a 30f I have the same problem as you. I had a seasalt top from last year that I loved and wore almost continuously. It wasn't until I saw photos at the end of the summer that I realised how awful it looked across the chest. I obviously don't wear it anymore.

Absolutely pissing it down today. Dh is working today but family are arriving at lunchtime. Thank goodness. I'm struggling with little dd as she seems to be reacting to not having mummy all to herself and so is doing lots of naughty attention seeking behaviour.

BrandyAlexander · 02/08/2014 09:19

Oh dear Linus, poor you

Lib, wow that scarf for Linus is absolutely gorgeous! Will go well with my new coat for work....right back ss14!

QueenC, yes that's exactly it. There are certain things that I avoid these days either because I am not tall enough or because I am boob-ish. It's amazing how the wrong thing can make someone petite and slim look "matronly". It's such a stunning top though, I might have to lust from afar.

Sorry about your youngest playing up. It's hard work. I get that with my two. I realised over the last year that because ds is younger, clingy and demanding that he got much more of my attention. End result dd's behaviour changed. I am now much more conscious of ds trying to monopolise my time and over the last few months I have made a conscious effort to share myself more "fairly" between them. Dd's behaviour has improved and we feel closer. This parenting lark is hard!

MarshaBrady · 02/08/2014 13:10

Liberty lovely scarf. I need a new one for AW. I am officially on a tone down my wardrobe drive however, as nearly each item I own is getting progressively brighter and I am nearly at being seen from space territory.

Novice go like a train and Choo Choo!

Linus I bet. I hope you get some free time really soon, I'd be the same.

I finally picked up the Ganni flats, got home, tried them on and they are going straight back. I can't do dainty flats, but hard to tell from the pic.
