Continuing. From here some of us may have jetted off to far flung foreign parts, but we're still friendly, fabulous even in the heat wave and full of frivolous fashion talk. Come and join us Smile

santamarianovella · 31/07/2014 11:09

Outfit sounds great dry where are you going? Selfridges? Liberty?? Please tell me all about it Sad
I didn't find Louise's blog! Is it like goop? You have to warn people turq if its like goop, don't think a lot of people can handle a second goop a like Grin

one you will love the whole atmosphere of going to university and studying you will hardly have time to notice anything else, and remember this is your time, you've worked so hard to get to this stage, be strong, stay focus,x

queen I agree, don't do it,you don't need to lose weight, And you have an active lifestyle,so you need sufficient energy to be able to do stuff with dcs,

linus the marant dress is beautiful,

Speaking of owning a small home or flat and another holiday property, elsewhere, it seems to be the "norm" here, as well as in Denmark and Scandinavia, infact most European countries.some families even large ones live in flats or small town houses, kids often share rooms, so they could afford a second bigger holiday home. there is no right or wrong in this debate, its right to invest in your main residence as its where you live most, and its right as well to buy a second home to escape the city,as sometimes traveling can be a nightmare or expensive, and you would rather have somewhere peaceful you can drive to whenever you can, without the faff of airports and maniac packing.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 31/07/2014 11:45

Morning all. Got a few days to catch up on I see, I've been working this week in one of Marsha's dead zones Wink with a 2 hour commute each way, still in SW London though, I have no idea how that is possible. Would have been quicker to drive! Anyway, have been knackered.

santa glad the move went well and hope you're getting settled now Thanks

Linus welcome back! I love that H&M skirt in the teal, have pinned, so thank you.

shop fab holiday pics. I will be going to France in a month and can't wait now!

Sleep and Queen hope you're having lovely hols.

Dry have a fab day shopping. I have been melting in London this week in the heat.

Hugs for One, everyone else has already said it better but you'll be fine with your courses to keep you occupied and it'll be fun to come to London to see him. Liberty is right, it's the waiting for it to happen that's the worst because you don't know what to expect.

to everyone else. I don't have much to report on the buying front but I have my grey baukjen ruched dress to try on later. Annoyingly I won't be able to wear it tomorrow as today I'm wearing my grey Me+Em ruched dress. Grin

turq I wasn't that impressed either with Louise's blog. Not a lt on there really and I'm sick to death of bloggers going on about stripes Grin. Am I the only person who doesn't own a Breton?

Drywhiteplease · 31/07/2014 18:50

Sounds like a lovely day Dry and good shopping. I have that necklace in silver (also the bumble bee which is a bit chunkier). I wear them a lot.

shopafrolic · 31/07/2014 19:17

Soooooo hot here today. 34 degrees. DS has been poorly with heat rash and fever so we haven't done too much. Visited beautiful Isle de la Sorgue and then came back to the Mas for lunch and spent the afternoon team tagging with DH for dips in the pool while the other stayed indoors with DS.
J Crew linen tees have been invaluable, as have Hush denim shorts. Fabulous markets here, lovely wine. Getting on really well with our friends so it all feels very chilled. Off to sit outdoors with a glass of wine and my book.
Dry enjoy your London visit.
Love to all.

santamarianovella · 31/07/2014 20:04

turq what did you say? Grin

dry love the sound of your day,I went to selfridges a few days before I left to say goodbye, and everything looked so beautiful, had coffee there with a friend, and then went to liberty to do the same, and bought some of liberty crockery ,and I used to really hate printed tableware, but thought I must now that I'm leaving and will need some kind of token,i must plan to come to London for Christmas shopping too,

shop poor ds, hope he feels better, its good you are getting along with your friends,I feel its always nicer to spend holidays with others around you,

queen I'm wearing a mih Breton today,my only one Wink , its a bit cooler today, but I'm wearing it with APC shorts, as we went cycling around the lake this afternoon,

No shopping news whatsoever, I didn't even check the shopping here, still at the first stage of scanning for grocery and pharmacy, and trying to catograise which supermarket equals waitrose/sainsbury, what pharmacy is best etc,

Drywhiteplease · 31/07/2014 20:24

That is a lovely village shop. We visited two years ago when I was pregnant with DD and we loved looking at the antique shops and market.

Unfortunately I also remember it because of an epic meltdown 18 month-old DS had there when our friends turned up late for lunch and he was hungry and tired.

I recently found some real estate brochures we picked up there that trip in one of our suitcases, some gorgeous but ££££ properties.

Every time DH begins to dream about buying a property there or where we went this year, but not as a holiday home but to become a winemaker, gentleman farmer pig farmer Hmm

And every time I bring him back to earth with a great big thud! Can't imagine myself living there permanently only for holidays.

Hope your DS feels better soon!

dry very Envy of your London trip even though I was there myself recently

BrandyAlexander · 31/07/2014 20:55

Hello everyone! After a super busy couple of weeks I have had such a lovely day including managing to escape from the office for a couple of hours. Dh is home for a change Shock so I am off the hook on bedtime duties - they really played me up last night and enjoying some pasta and a glass of wine.

Just wanted to say hope mini Shop is okay and One, I am sure you will be fine. Thanks

libertychick · 31/07/2014 22:42

Seems to be a good day vibe all round today. I had a lovely day too. And for once I am in bed relatively early and I did no work or study tonight. Just chilled out on the couch with DH and a nice cold glass of wine.

I love that dragonfly necklace dry. I want it in silver.

QueenCardigan · 01/08/2014 07:35

Glad you had a good day dry and finally got a red cardi.
Last nights BBQ went well. I had the sudden wobbles feeling overdressed in a dress but glad I went with that option. I got told I looked glamorous a few times Smile. Didn't get to bed till 11.30 so am v tired and slightly hungover. Hoping the kids don't play up today.

Cooler here today. After weeks of wearing shorts it'll feel weird to put jeans on.

libertychick · 01/08/2014 09:36

Cooler here today too. Wearing the H&M red skirt (I love the teal version Linus has linked) withe with black, grey and white silk front top I wire to the MU. Usual black ballet flats.

Glad to hear the BBQ went well QueenC.

one how are you today?

libertychick · 01/08/2014 09:37

Wore to MU!

OneLittleLady · 01/08/2014 09:41

I'm ok Liberty quietly in chaos though, emotionally at least. I have a friend visiting this afternoon and then my sister after that before DP is home for his last few nights. My Ds is also visiting tomorrow to get to say his goodbyes to Dp. We thought it important that Ds be able to say goodbye, he doesn't cope well with changes so I have to be the strong one for him for tomorrow at least. I didn't expect this year to turn out quite like this if I'm honest!

libertychick · 01/08/2014 09:44

You are doing great one. Xxx

LinusDKD · 01/08/2014 09:54

Oh one, I really feel for you. (((Hugs)))

Great outfit liberty! I am wearing my yellow Asos pencil skirt but there's a stain on it so I'll have to go and change in a minute.

I will keep my eye out for that teal skirt in the shops, if the teal is lovely IRL I'll definitely buy it.

dry lol that you called your Jimmies/Gigis combo a Linus!

It was so hot here yesterday (34 degrees) and I think it's going to be the same today. I'm melting already.

Theoldhag · 01/08/2014 10:00

to give onelittlelady vibes of strength.

Vivacious voguettes I am wondering if anyone has come across a cashmere wrap in brown and burnt orange? It is the only thing left to get for autumn/winter wardrobe (I plan to ask my fiancé to buy one for my birthday next month).

I hope all are having a good summer and keep up with this long running thread, I know peeps irl that 'follow' you all!

OneLittleLady · 01/08/2014 10:03

thank you theoldhag Smile

Sleepwhenidie · 01/08/2014 10:34

Hang in there One Flowers just think how long the holidays are, terms will be busy and seem very short I promise.

Cool here today in Cornwall. None of the forecast rain yet though. I am loving my Anna silk skirts I got in the sale. I bought the navy star one first and loved it so much I also bought a very pale grey one with toucans all over. Makes DH smile because it reminds him of Guiness Hmm Smile. Wearing with vest tops and silver JCrew slides and pendant necklace, feels elegantly boho!

Shop France sounds wonderful, glad it is working out well. How is DS today?

Queen I can join you on the 'I don't own a Breton' bench Smile.

Just ordered a blazer and pair of boots for DH birthday from Mr Porter....lovely men's stuff on there, I had to severely edit the original basket .
