Continuing. From here some of us may have jetted off to far flung foreign parts, but we're still friendly, fabulous even in the heat wave and full of frivolous fashion talk. Come and join us Smile

Fast day for me too queenc but I could also do with a Wine

I wore my Mango dress last weekend when the weather was still ok and it is a fab dress shop

You can't bend over in it though Wink

Have fun on holiday! And great purchase!

santamarianovella · 30/07/2014 20:20

mara that's exactly what dh wants to do! Sell our existing house, move to another area with lower prices and buy a vacation home elsewhere, so far it's a bastide in south of France, or a rural place in Scotland, or a small cottage by the coast, or a barn conversion and on and on, all I do is smile and nod,But in reality I want to say pick a f*ing one won't you!!

one don't worry, you will do fine, don't think of it as thought it's a bad thing, it might give you some time to prepare yourself for your studies,do you think you can do some courses related to your studies?

OneLittleLady · 30/07/2014 20:24

santa I'm already signed up for a couple of courses through August so that'll keep me busy for now Smile

Topazandpearl · 30/07/2014 20:39

Here's a hug One. I know it sounds trite but just take it one day at a time. You really will be ok Thanks.

Good buys with the Le Pliages Lib and Shop. I have a red one and find it great for days when I need to carry lots of bits and bobs. I'd love a leather one. Good pedicure Shop!

QueenCardigan · 30/07/2014 21:13

mara don't do it. You'll be so pissed off spending every Friday and Sunday stuck on the m25 or other routes in/out of London.
shop good restraint! Was it all cheaper over there?
one your last post bought a tear to my eye. How long is your course until you move down? I know it's scary but you can do it and we're here to distract you.
linus I'm finding it hard to fast with the 3dc. I usually manage it fine but it's making me quite irritable or maybe that's just the kids. Also dd asked why I didn't have any lunch. I'm not sure that I want an 8yo to know I'm 'dieting' when I'm a perfectly healthy size. What would you all say to her?

Drywhiteplease · 30/07/2014 21:22

Mara RIPS????? Shock ....my distressed= very faded with a few bleache/worn out looking bits, I couldn't possibly ever pull off rips

I paid £61 for my Le Pliage here so not a huge saving.......

OneLittleLady · 30/07/2014 21:43

It's three years QueenC right now, it feels like forever away Sad

Drywhiteplease · 30/07/2014 21:48

Good one Shop

maradesbois · 30/07/2014 21:56

Dry ha ha! that makes more sense. I can't imagine you anything other than pristine.

Queenc thanks for reality check words of wisdom. Wouldn't really do it, all the travel is annoying me already & just want to be in one place as a family again. Think the gorgeous summer has coloured my judgement re UK seaside. Anyway, if/when we do get a holiday place it will be South of France, dh and I are 100% in agreement on that one.

I am fasting today too, finding it much easier than last time I tried it, the heat kills my appetite. Going for tapas with friends tomorrow lunch so the thought of that and a glass of Spanish white are a good incentive. Not sure about explaining to dc, maybe sit down and have some of your 500k with them even if its just a green salad so doesn't look like you're skipping meals.

maradesbois · 30/07/2014 21:58

One try to focus on the reason you're not moving down now, your course that you worked so hard to get onto. Am sure that once it starts you'll feel a lot better. Will dp come home fri-sun?

OneLittleLady · 30/07/2014 22:04

Mara we'll split weekends so that I get to come down to London and spend time with him there. It'll be good practice for me getting around as I have crutches to weild getting on and off tubes so have to start somewhere!

I should have mentioned, I got some proper crutches as the walking sticks are not providing enough support. Bought them myself as it's a six month wait for a physio appointment and tbh, I feel it'd be taking up an appointment from someone who really needs it as all I need from them is for them to give me crutches as there's nothing therapy wise they can do for me so figured I'd skip the wait and the taking up space by buying them myself. Plus, i need them now, not in six months. Went for a fetching pair in red and silver, you can't miss me with them!

libertychick · 31/07/2014 00:12

Big hugs for you One. The scary part is waiting for things to happen - once you are in it you will adjust. Focus on the fun you will have in London and how exciting catching up with each other will be at weekends.

QueenC why not stop fasting while it's school holidays?

  1. you don't need to lose weight
  2. stress like looking after 3 busy DC's is harder to deal with when you are hungry
  3. I agree dieting in front of kids especially when you don't need to lose weight gives them strange messages and it's best not to do it
  4. you don't need to lose weight I may have already mentioned that Grin

Yay Shop we are 'brand spanking new pliage twins' Smile

I have finished my essay - having a celebratory glass of wine...

Laughing at all the DH's who want weekend homes - DH keeps saying that too for when we move to Australia - I nod and smile too Santa and think 'no chance mate' - I'm having a BIG house when we move and I will want to hang out in it A LOT.

libertychick · 31/07/2014 00:14

Oh Envy at your lovely Longchamps carrier bag Shop. I bought mine at HoF and got the SA to remove all the labels immediately so I could chuck a loads of papers and laptop cables into it straight away Smile

And hi to everyone I missed. Queen c - hope your BBQ is a success- that s a lot of people to cater for.
On the subject of blogs - has anyone looked at Louise redknapps new blog?

Drywhiteplease · 31/07/2014 08:00

Turq 6am gym sessions Shock I tried that last summer when I had visitors. Got so tired I kept bursting into tears, blubbering mess, think I particularly embarrassed myself at the "last night BBQ" when I could light the bloody think and was found sobbing over my raw kebabs Grin
liberty you are a very wise lady.

Hmm..Jimmies or maxi, jimmies on maxi....my life if filled with difficult decisions Wink

QueenCardigan · 31/07/2014 08:00

lib you're right. Maybe I should stop doing it over the hols.
one I can see why you're concerned. 3 years is a long time. But presumably you get nice long holidays as a student to be able to spend time with him. As someone else said just take one day at a time.

Dh and I often talk about getting a holiday home in Devon or Wales but I doubt realistically we'll ever get round to it.

Off to check Louise reddy apps blog....

And One totally agree with The Wise One.....often the thought of things is much worse than the actual thing you're worried about, and it may also present opportunities that you haven't even thought of. You will get into a routine and make it work, difficult situations often have an up side if you look hard enough.

OP posts:
QueenCardigan · 31/07/2014 08:10

Grin at reddy app. Bloody iPad!

Stokey · 31/07/2014 08:22

Hope you're OK One. My Aunt who's a bit woo says change is always for the best even though we may not see it at the time.

QueenC what about low carbing instead of 5:2 in the hols? Then you can more or less have the same as the kids just without the carb element.

Deciding how to live is so tricky Mara. Trouble is central London prices are so mad that getting a flat here and a house somewhere else is still hard to afford. A friend just sold her garden 2 bed in admittedly Hampstead for over £750 Shock

Stokey · 31/07/2014 08:24

£750k obv!
