Continuing. From here some of us may have jetted off to far flung foreign parts, but we're still friendly, fabulous even in the heat wave and full of frivolous fashion talk. Come and join us Smile

I love my grey boots and shoes. They're very versatile and go with everything including navy and black.

maradesbois · 16/08/2014 21:17

Evening,

Ooh, lots of lovely links today, particularly from Santa. Also Fedup love your bag! a great gift. Glad you enjoyed your hols.

QueenC night out and weekend plans sound fab.

Stokey enjoy your holiday. Hope you're feeling better today.

Linus you'll feel pain tomorrow or the day after but don't let it put you off. Am on about day 20 now and really think it's helped get (some) muscle tone back in my arms and abs.

I had a bit of a grey obsession last winter, got my toga pulla suede boots, some pale grey cashmere and was looking for a bag but didn't end up getting one. Could be on the list for this year. Have seen a lot of grey and camel together this year but personally not convinced by that combination.

Am all packed and ready for hols tomorrow. For the first week won't have any internet at all, not even 3G coverage where we are going, is properly remote but that's probably a good thing. Have packed 2 books which may be ambitious but the aim is relaxation and grandparents will be there. A bientôt Voguettes!

OneLittleLady · 16/08/2014 21:38

So many lovely, lovely heels on the outnet but why why why do they have to be so high. There's little on there that has low/mid heels and there's no way I can walk in anything over a couple of inches high now. All my high heels now have been rehomed or saved for , well, I'll not go into detail. novice will know where I'm at Wink

LinusDKD · 16/08/2014 21:41

mara I have to do the Shred every day?!

I just thought about doing it on days when I'm not going for a run.

Have a great holiday! Bon voyage! Et repose toi bien.

QueenCardigan · 16/08/2014 21:49

Fantasy shopping. I totally love this skirt

QueenCardigan · 16/08/2014 22:03

Love this dress too

LinusDKD · 16/08/2014 22:07

Oooh that skirt is lovely.

I like the dress as well but I love the skirt!

maradesbois · 16/08/2014 22:09

Linus merci ma chère. Every day is the idea! Mixing with running sounds like a good plan though.

QueenC that is gorgeous. Have never worn lace, seemed too girly but really love it for a pencil skirt and also the DVF Zarita dress which think someone one here has, Novice maybe?

One loads of lovely flats out there too. No point putting yourself in pain to wear heels. Keep them for the other Wink.

OneLittleLady · 16/08/2014 22:15

Love love love that dress QueenC the skirt is also lovely

really like this bag

and this dress

BrandyAlexander · 17/08/2014 07:11

Morning all! Loving the links, especially Linus' ones.Smile Those shoes stunning.Envy That cardigan is lovely but I think I am too short to carry it off.

So, we are actually off on our summer holiday today. Huge ThanksThanksThanksThanksThanks to Grumpy. I was inspired by her posting a few weeks ago to say that she was packing 2 weeks early and I copied her. Packed me first 2 weeks ago (instead of last), then dd last weekend. Then ds on Friday. Yesterday, I was able to do last bits and pieces in a nice calm way. All my washing done. Honestly, it's the calmest ever I have felt before a holiday.

For the first time in a few years ago, I have also decided to leave the work iPhone and ipad behind. My PA knows where I am but going cold turkey means I won't be actively checking my emails and have half an eye on work. Everyone at work is behaving like this is the bravest thing anyone has ever done.Hmm

I am going to try and mumsnet less, can't see me going cold turkey I just want to feel like my family have my full attention over the next couple of weeks. I give it a few days. Love to all.

MarshaBrady · 17/08/2014 08:08

Love that skirt QueenC and the dress One. All are fab.

Have a great holiday Novice and Mara!

QueenCardigan · 17/08/2014 08:25

mara and novice have fab holidays. As I said when we go on Friday I'm banned from mumsnet. My dh wants my attention in the evenings.

I feel like I've survived the summer holidays as dh is now off work and once we get back from holiday it's pretty much back to school. I've suddenly realised that I'd better get buying new bits of school uniform this week. Does anyone else get totally frustrated with the m&s website or is it just me?

Drywhiteplease · 17/08/2014 08:30

Have great holidays novice and mara.
Last night I wore a complete MNV outfit for dinner..... Gap bf den shorts, Madewell top in black, gold Gigis cpw around 93p now . Would NEVER have worn shorts to dinner before. Felt great Smile

Thanks ladies! QueenC, do you have the code for 20% off this weekend at M&S? It's AUG14EM.

I do find the M&S website really frustrating too. I did the uniform shop ages ago, because everything needs a label sewn in it - even socksShock and our housekeeper wanted to do it before she went on hols as we are straight back to school too. The 8 weeks will have gone really quickly mainly because I was hiding at workGrin but dd did 3 weeks at home with a few play dates and we went away for a long weekend, then the last 3 weeks have been various sports camps. Then final 2 weeks on hols.

santamarianovella · 17/08/2014 10:37

Morning, enjoying last couple of days of hols, then its back to reality Sad
I think part of being on hols, is relaxing,I can't enjoy reading as I get constantly interrupted ,so mumsnetting while enjoying my coffee In the morning is perfect for me, in reality I'm addicted

novice enjoy yours,

And mara too,

dry that's a lovely outfit.

I miss the blessing school uniforms,! The dcs new school is a non uniform one, bought some stuff for them before going on holiday, and picked up some bits in petit bateau while here,

I'm in full AW mood, on the look for a day dress, boots or maybe marant boots, sweater and scarf.

santamarianovella · 17/08/2014 11:06

And a big welcome back to my fellow rockstuds lover fedup and I loooove your bag! Beautiful,

I have a few moments to spare thoughts on this sweater? I love it but I'm too concerned that I won't be able to wear it with a coat, but I love the boxy shape,

shopafrolic · 17/08/2014 11:35

Morning everyone. Thanks for the uniform prompt. Novice I just tried to use that code on a £33 order and it only took a £ off? Are there restrictions? Do you have to spend £50 or more?

MarshaBrady · 17/08/2014 11:36

Santa I love it, but yes it looks hard to wear under a coat. Would you be happy to buy it and only wear it without one?

MarshaBrady · 17/08/2014 11:37

Grey edit on the outnet btw. We are so aligned Wink

OneLittleLady · 17/08/2014 11:37

Really like the sweater Santa not for me though as I prefer a bit more length to give a bit more stomach coverage. Does look very snuggly though

shopafrolic · 17/08/2014 11:40

Just called them - the offer excludes school wear

QueenCardigan · 17/08/2014 11:42

novice does that code work on school uniforms as the code I have doesn't. Although the shorts I need are out if stock anyway so will visit the store tomorrow. I just write on the labels. Cba with sewing.

Nice sweater santa. You could presumably wear that in autumn without the need for a jacket?

I'm having the usual confidence crisis at meeting dh colleagues. I don't know what it is but I always get an inferiority complex around doctors and I especially panic at meeting their wives. Ridiculous isn't it?

Drywhiteplease · 17/08/2014 12:00

queenC imagine them naked, always works for me! Grin Also remember that the women will prob be feeling just like you too. I usually comment on an item of clothing, usually breaks the ice/ introduces my specialist subject Grin
santa addicted too. Sporadic wifi here though.

santa nice jumper, guess you'd have to weigh up how practical it is for your lifestyle. Wouldn't work for me.

Hello all. There seems to be more posts than usual on here this weekend! Have great hols mara and novice.

fedup welcome back, that bag looks seriously strokeable and I can't wait to hear about your vegas adventures!

santa it's a gorgeous jumper, probably wearable as an outer layer on dry autumn days with warm tops underneath? I bet there's lots of street style inspiration on Pin as I've definitely seen some pics of similar knits.

We were meant to be meeting some friends at battersea park today for a food festival, but DP and all the other male halves of the couples went out last night and they are too worse for wear Hmm. It's my birthday tomorrow and having it on a Monday is the worst, so it would have been nice to have a day out today! I did see my sister last night though, lots of wedding chat which was nice.

QueenC you're a doctor's wife too and you always look fab so you have nothing to worry about :)
