Continuing. From here some of us may have jetted off to far flung foreign parts, but we're still friendly, fabulous even in the heat wave and full of frivolous fashion talk. Come and join us Smile

Grin liberty. DS is the champion of calling us up to his bedroom to ask silly questions. And if I'm lucky he'll just want a cuddle and to tell me I'm his best friend. after telling me to Go Away Mama all day

I think he's having a growth spurt or an early testosterone surge (should normally be around 4 years old which he isn't yet) because he's so up and down at the moment. Tantrums, whingeing, complaining about EVERYTHING (seriously)

A White Lady is a lovely cocktail with Gin, Cointreau and lemon juice. Yum! DH was too tired to make me one so I stuck to Wine

queenc I really hope you find a solution for your PMT as you have suffered enough.

MotherOfFerals · 14/08/2014 20:52

No worries shop.

libertychick · 14/08/2014 22:00

They don't Shop, they shut up and go to sleep or lose TV privileges for a week Grin.

Righto, I am having an early night for once...

maradesbois · 14/08/2014 22:20

Hello,

Am still feeling a bit crappy with bunged-up head. Hardly ever get colds but when I do they are horrible and you can't stay in bed all day with just a cold. Ignore my whining, dh not here to bear the brunt of it!

One I still don't think you should waste money on size 16 jeans when you are becoming more svelte by the week. Indeed all friends on here, Vogue is a friendly place Smile.

Marsha pre-prep is where we are now but reception year onwards will be London. Love the colour of that TB cashmere, my only reservation for you would be that you said you don't like close fitting but the cut of it seems meant to be v fitted. Well worth a try on though.

Blair your outfit today sounded fab like someone snapped in a street style blog. Speaking of blogs thing my love for WIT may be waning. She keeps plugging mentioning M&S, must be sponsored so shouldn't she allude to the fact?

Linus aha, that's what a White Lady is. An American lady at the table next to us in a restaurant on Sat ordered one and I thought it looked good. Love the American cocktail habit, it seems glamorous & very old NY/Mad Men.

Shop night out was good tks. Met up with some old colleagues for drinks. Been out tonight too with ds to friends for dinner. This living apart from dh during the week is actually encouraging me to make more effort to have a social life!

Dry I get your dh with his g&t as in gin palace. Think he was referring to a taste for the life of luxury!

QueenC hope the doc can do something for you. Has your dh got any advice?

santamarianovella · 14/08/2014 22:43

shop I hope you meant dh and not ds Grin and yes we eventually went to sleep at a very late hour Wink Wink ,

Incase any of you are wondering what shop meant, I'm the proud owner of this exquisite bag, sort of a belated birthday gift, its perfection, I always thought I would start with a flap bag,but I fell in love with this bag, the color is more like greige ,and the contrast with the gold hardware is just exquisit,

marsha lovely sweater, I have no experience with TB, but grumpy ,? Highly , Rates them

queen yes, you should seek some advice, its sounds really agonising

dry it took me so long to figure what t&g meant, but I think what your dh said was a good thing, non?

liberty strength and may the force be with you tomorrow !

linus dd, just turned 3, and she is exactly the same, its driving me crazy,

one how could you think of us not being friends! After all the laughter and tears, highs and lows, and countless frivolous talk we shared? drowning in tears

LinusDKD · 15/08/2014 07:36

Morning!

santa I have major bag envy! That bag is really you!

The weather is rubbish here so I'm wearing my Choo bikers with Goldsign Virtuals, J Crew ls tee and my beloved Paul&Joe Sister coatigan. (Sorry about the label namedropping Wink )

shopafrolic · 15/08/2014 08:55

Oh God Santa YY definitely DH! Blush
Can't remember if I mentioned but I wore my replacement Hudson boots this week and they have ripped my feet to shreds! I don't understand how a direct size replacement boot can hurt so badly. I have huge blisters. Not sure if shoe stretcher stuff will work on that type of leather.... they may be heading for EBay.

libertychick · 15/08/2014 09:13

Ouch shop. How annoying. Would you complain especially as you had a pair before with no problems?

Such a gorgeous bag Santa. Thanks for the good wishes for today. Now that everything is sorted I am really excited about seeing them all.

Cold here too Linus. I am wearing tights! Outfit is my White Company navy dress with the blues Mango IM 'homage' quilted jacket and the usual black ballet pumps.

MarshaBrady · 15/08/2014 09:22

Good news Liberty, you sound relaxed, I'm sure you'll have a blast.

Santa amazing! So lovely and very you.

Shop that is annoying!

MarshaBrady · 15/08/2014 09:24

Linus love the sound of your outfit, I always like the full picture with an outfit!

Chilly here too. P Lim jumper, old Paris skinnies, umbrella.

OneLittleLady · 15/08/2014 10:12

santa of course I think of you all as friends, it was a poor joke that didn't come across very well Thanks

Slept in a little this morning, unintentionally and woke up to the door bell ringing as a parcel was being delivered for my sister

LinusDKD · 15/08/2014 10:38

Just went for a run.... for the first time in a long long time can't actually remember the last time

I had trouble locating stuff that I could wear to go running so in the end I wore: DH's ancient tracksuit pants that even he doesn't wear anymore, Ralph Lauren rugby-esque tee from my preppy days, ancient sportsbra and a waterproof jacket in a lurid colour that DH once got on a teambuilding day.

Hmm

It started out ok, had some heartpumping music on my Iphone, was feeling all virtuous when I started having stitches in my side even before I was at the end of the road. I did continue but walked and ran in intervals. In the end I just ended up walking briskly. Grin

I do feel good now I'm home and had a shower so I'll give it another go tomorrow.

But I will need want the following to make my running a bit easier:

  • A proper sportsbra (I would like to keep the littlebit of firmness I have left in my B cups)
  • proper headphones to run with (my Apple ones are rubbish)
  • an armband thingy to put my Iphone in
  • some running trousers that don't slip down when I'm running (and didn't belong to DH circa 2001)
  • a running playlist on Itunes, because Empire State of Mind (Jay Z/Alicia Keys) followed by Polly put the Kettle On does not work.

Nothing like a bit of shopping for sportsgear to get you motivated Wink

Oh and can anyone tell me why my bumcheecks started tingling whenever I was running?

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 15/08/2014 11:16

Nice one Linus, no idea about the bum cheeks sorry haha!

liberty have fun with your guests :)

That's annoying about the boots shop, will you be able to wear them with thick socks in winter?

Talk to me about le pliages please people. I might ask for one for my birthday - there seem to be so many sizes and strap lengths, what is the best size to get? And long shoulder straps? TIA!

santamarianovella · 15/08/2014 11:42

Ok,
Sports bra: shock absorber

Music: now that's what I call running, followed by avicii,Swedish house mafia, lady gaga?

Some running pants come with a compartment for phone/iPods ,

Running trousers, I run in shorts, and for colder weather I use nike running leggings ,

And doing intervals are the best thing you can do, they spike in heart rate, and drop is more effective than any long distance running you can do,

Bum tingling ,might be fat burning, did the tingling start when you finished your run? Is it really tingling or is it more like its been smacked and Its on fire? if its fire sensation then its fat being shifted and burn, by tomorrow it will be sore and painful to sit, dont do any heavy workout tomorrow, you can walk, and do upper body workout instead,or maybe its your bum saying : good god linus why are you doing this to me. Grin

You can get running headphones from fnac? Its available where you are right? Or amazon?

Its windy here today, no pool Sad , we will go for a run too, then meet inlaws and dcs for lunch in near by village

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 15/08/2014 12:31

mara the other day I noticed on WIT's site that she was telling everyone (again) to spend £440 on a pair of (very statement) flats because you'll wear them so much. Made me Hmm

I need a bra rant. Just looking at bravissimo, why are all their bras so bright and fun looking? It's like the boden of bras. Am I the only woman in the UK who doesn't want to wear something like this (first bra on their site) every day, and what the hell is this??? More plain bras please....

LinusDKD · 15/08/2014 15:21

santa I nearly spat my drink out when I read your question whether my 'cheeks' were tingling or burning. Grin

Probably TMI but definitely a tingle and not a burn but it's been a while since i've been spanked so what do I know. Wink

I bought some Nike running leggings (with a little back pocket for an Iphone) and a Nike sportsbra (we don't have Shockabsorber here). Will check out Amazon for earphones.

blair those bras are certainly bright.

QueenCardigan · 15/08/2014 15:31

blair have you seen WIT today? I always I signed her to have stacks of money considering the clothes/shoes she owns but it's taken her nearly a year to save £950 for an AH bag. I also wonder what she'll do if she has another child especially if a boy.

linus well done on the run. Maybe dh can soothe your tingling cheeks Wink

Had a lovely morning catching up with an old voguette. She looked fab. I felt like a tramp carrying my practical rucksack with waterproofs/drinks/snacks. I'm so looking forward to meeting dh tonight. It feels like an age since I last went out.

QueenCardigan · 15/08/2014 15:32

Considered rather than I signed...

libertychick · 15/08/2014 15:45

Well done Linus!

Have a look at Couch to 5km plan. I started this last week. They recommend running every second day to make sure you have time to recover and don't get injured. Unfortunately my knees are hurting so I have paused the plan until I buy new trainers.

Also I have been researching earphones for running and I am going to order these ones.

Blair I bought the large navy Pliage with the long handles so I can wear it on my shoulder - it's great.

What are you wearing tonight QueenC?

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 15/08/2014 15:50

QueenC Just looked at WIT, my first reaction was "good God" but then I thought about it and it is a nice idea. I think what leaves a bad taste in my mouth is that she didn't even buy it for herself, she bought it for a 2 year old! I guess she will use it for now though... I think she would hate to have a boy. And agree re the saving up, even more of her life must be freebies/luck than we previously thought.

Ok, enough snarking for today. About to leave work for a 3 day weekend, yay!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 15/08/2014 15:53

Also how many of the "unwanted items" she sold were freebies?! meow

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 15/08/2014 15:53

And thanks liberty, I would get navy as well. :)

OneLittleLady · 15/08/2014 16:02

I really don't like WIT at all. I can't quite put my finger on why but there's just something.

Drywhiteplease · 15/08/2014 16:30

Bloody hell, I go off on holidays swore to keep off MN but can't resist and v limited, almost non existent wifi, so making the most while I can and you all get soppy yes all friends on here Smile and start talking about "tingling bum cheeks" Grin
mara you mentioned cocktails, I'm sipping a Blue Lagoon as I type. V sunburnt back but apart from that I think I'm in paradise Smile

Hello,

Linus Sad to hear weather rubbish atm, we are flying to 'your' airport this weekend and I hadn't planned to bring anything other than summer things. Will throw in an extra sweater and travel in ankle boots and trench. Well done on your run, some new sports gear will definitely help you stay motivated.

Am wearing Ganni sweatshirt and pj bottoms nursing a hot honey & lemon after a morning at swimming. Dh home tonight, had planned a little apéritif but lost all my sense of taste. Loss of appetite good for the diet though, have lost over 3kgs since the mu.

Marsha can't remember if I said already but love the pale Paris skinnies you ordered. Great price too.

Shop that's rubbish about your boots, maybe socks will help as someone said.

Blair yes, go long strap for pliage. I like the short ones too & use the large travel bag size with short straps for gym but being able to put over shoulder is more practical. What is nice too is that you can get them personalised, not that I ever have, the leather one with perforated initials is particularly nice.

Liberty enjoy your family weekend.

Right, have settled ds in front of beebies for a bit and putting my feet up with Harper's Bazaar for 30 mins. Have a good weekend all.
