Continuing. From here some of us may have jetted off to far flung foreign parts, but we're still friendly, fabulous even in the heat wave and full of frivolous fashion talk. Come and join us Smile

Look awesome.

See! Can barely write.

libertychick · 27/07/2014 17:53

Grin at Marsha, weirdly it makes me feel better too knowing I'm not the only one missing out on a lazy day in the garden.

santamarianovella · 27/07/2014 17:57

Thanks marsha and liberty ,and I love that you are multitasking, shopping and studying at once, great skirt,
And if its any consolation to you both, I'm the picture of effortless glamour, At the moment, my hair resembles a birds nest, wearing running shorts and tee< no running was involved though>and sweating like a pig, our uber glam neighbours saw me for the first like this, god they are tall and broad, They must think I come from munchkin land,

Stokey · 27/07/2014 18:16

Happy birthday Santa - glad the move went well, and have a lovely dinner. German cake yum...

Liberty the Alium B dress was much too big for me even in an 8 so is going back. I think they must be meant for taller people as even stretching my arms down, they barely reached the pockets! (i'm 5ft3).

In fact have had a rubbish record with recent buys. But did buy a Zara jacket in the sale today - can't find the link but it's a green jungly one - which I kind of love.

Have a wedding shoe/potential rain and walking dilemma. Will post later as kids supper is ready!

maradesbois · 27/07/2014 18:25

Santa glad your move went smoothly and you're settling in. Enjoy the cake!

Liberty nice skirt. I also spotted the tartan one, in fact love the look of your whole a/w board. I have a vw wool mini that was a sale find from years ago but still comes out every winter. Is shorter than I'd buy now but looks good with thick black tights and poloneck.

Marsha good call sending back the jeans. You know exactly what you're looking for so worth waiting.

Have decided am keeping both the outnet tart dresses from a couple of weeks ago. Still thinking about dvf sale bags then after that absolutely no more shopping whether high st or high end for a good long while.

annielewis · 27/07/2014 18:49

Marking place. Trying to get kids to bed early tonight as they were both up til 10:30 last night at wedding but up normal time thus morning. They're both knackered!!!

Will try to link to outfit once they're in bed!

Glad move went well Santa.

Drywhiteplease · 27/07/2014 20:07

Santa so glad you're settled in your new home and still with us. I read that article....a potato at Madonna's head made me Grin any idea when the expo will be? Really fancy coming to see that.
liberty I love the Maxmara skirt. Didn't take you all long to get into A/W. Will check out your pin board for autumn.
So, packing for my week in London. Will travel in Jimmies with my charming ballet flats in your honour lib, have packed a couple of pairs of shorts and sleeveless tops and gold Gigis. Think the heat wave is continuing. It's still hot down there isn't it?

Mara keep meaning to say well done on the 30-day shred. I managed 10 days of it before I went to Ibiza and it definitely made a difference. haven't resumed since I got back and tried the dress I bought the week after Ibiza on today and it is definitely tighter around the thighs. So will try and get back on this week!

We're going to a wedding in Sweden this weekend - it's out in the countryside by a fjord and we have to walk 20 mins or so to the venue - they've said don't wear high heels. So I was going to wear the Sam Edelman Trinas but now it looks like it may rain. Am a bit stuck. Any advice oh wise MNVers? Trainers and carry heels regardless? Ankle boots?

Stokey · 27/07/2014 20:10

Dry a bit cooler today but still got up to 25 or so. It's quite humid. It may be a bit stormy, we got drenched on Friday - in a park in a thuderstorm with two 4 year-olds, a 2 year-old and DM, not great!

QueenCardigan · 27/07/2014 20:50

Fab day at the beach. I looked a picture of style in my wetsuit Grin.

santa happy birthday Flowers Wine Cake. So glad that you've got there safely too.

stokey wedding sounds gorgeous. Have they said no heels because of the walk or are they not suitable for the venue either?

marsha shame about the jeans. Buy the navy Paul smith coat that I linked earlier.

lib love the shape of the skirt.

fedup have a fab time

santamarianovella · 27/07/2014 21:26

dry I'm still Grin every time I remember the potato incident,it said ,it was at elton johns estate so there must be a CCTV about it, I think the exhibition will be from march till July, it will be the biggest one yet , he designed a collection called "they shoot horses, don't they?"About ten years ago and to me it's one of the most beautiful collections of all time, hope it will be included,

stokey Swedish are very low key, boots with dress sounds like a good choice,

libertychick · 27/07/2014 22:13

A bit cooler this week Dry as Stokey has said but still warm. Sounds like you have packed the right things!

I am so ready for AW clothes wise Grin. Apart from the ballet flats and a trench coat I am sorted I think. New jeans would be good but I am thinking about trying not to spend for a few months and have a big splurge in the sales for jeans and a couple of dresses.

Shame about the Allium B dress Stokey. A lot of the styles do look very roomy. Is the green jungly Zara jacket the one that Belinda worn out has linked? I tried it on and really liked it. Ankle boots sounds like the best option for the wedding if they work with your dress. Carrying heels is such a faff.

Santa maybe we should organise a MNV day out at the McQueen exbibition???

Sleepwhenidie · 27/07/2014 22:20

Hi everyone, we arrived in St Ives today after finally cleaning up the house and packing for 5 weeks away that alone has earned me a holiday. Bit subdued as DH is in agony with toothache, think he will have to get root canal done this week Sad. DC's delighted to be here, it was lovely building sandcastles at bedtime tonight!

On the subject of fitness, I have brought Insanity with me this is how much I hate running. Has anyone done it? (Hopefully iirc? Are you around?) If so, how is it on knees? One of mine is troublesome lately couldn't be kickboxing oh no...

libertychick · 27/07/2014 22:34

I couldn't do the Shred with my knees Sleep, no idea what Insanity is like. If there are lots of lunges probably best to avoid or replace the lunges with squats???

maradesbois · 27/07/2014 22:38

Stokey glad you said that 30 day shred is worth it. Am on day 4, had to do a reduced version yesterday, phoned it in as my thighs were in agony but ok again today.

For wedding if they said heels not suitable would imagine that includes trinas. Maybe take trainers/pumps for the walk and some nice flats to change into? Sounds like it will be a lovely event.

Sleep enjoy your hols.

Santa I remember that collection. Love your enthusiasm about the expo, makes me want to see it too. I remember the day he died, only I and one other girl in the whole office knew who he was philistines

There is something inherently amusing about potato-throwing, especially at Madonna! A friend told me not to live in Islington as it was rough around the canal and she got a potato thrown at her there. Maybe it was McQ who didn't like her outfit. Not looking at Islington in any case, not good for schools, been doing my research...

Sleepwhenidie · 27/07/2014 22:44

Where are you looking now Mara?

Congrats on your move Santa, best of luck there Smile Flowers

maradesbois · 27/07/2014 22:50

Sleep still looking west London also some places south of river with nice architecture and good transport links. Dh is more for far out commuter town whereas I want to be central but still live in a big house with garden etc. Some compromising to be done somewhere!

Sleepwhenidie · 27/07/2014 23:02

Oh it's so hard Mara, but you'll get a much better feel for where to compromise when you start looking at places. Have you and DH made separate lists of priorities and made an attempt to merge them?!

libertychick · 28/07/2014 07:23

dry pack a raincoat and brolly. It's bucketing down!

Morning all. Anyone else woken up by thunder?

santamarianovella · 28/07/2014 08:14

Morning!
liberty have just seen it one my phone, wow! It looks bad,
I'm enjoying my coffee in complete peace ,dcs are still on London time,so I still have about half an hour all to myself, before they get up and mayhem begins,

mara once you seriously start looking, your priorities will change completely,, hope it works out well for you,

sleep I have no idea about insanity fitness? But yes I remember hopefully mentioning them, I haven't signed to a gym yet,so I'm doing some crossfit circuits, like double pyramid workout, for 3 rounds and every muscle in my body is in agonising pain, I don't think I'm cutout for it,but it is super effective, we will go cycling in the park, after breakfast so I hope it counts as a workout too,

Turquoiseblue · 28/07/2014 08:48

Morning all.
Nice to hear you re arrived and settled Santa, the dress you linked is really lovely too.
Haven't done insanity but have done shred- good but I find it restrictive - prefer a run outdoors or a swim.
Wedding this weekend. Ended up wearing old turquoise reiss dress and balenciga sandals (sales bargains from ages ago) as hadn't time to shop. Life has been pretty busy. Plus we decided against the house we were bidding so it s back to the drawing board.
I hear you on the compromise Mara!
I ve done a ruthless wardrobe declutter. Send dh off with bags today last I have a wobble. For rid of lots I d been holding onto 'just in case'.
Not dressed yet today but feels like it ll be a very low key day as we recover from the weekend. Hats off to those of you studying at home

QueenCardigan · 28/07/2014 08:52

It's lovely and sunny here still. Hoping the rain won't move westwards.

You're all making me feel guilty about the shred Grin. I should probably do it over the summer whilst I can't get to my circuits class.

Stokey · 28/07/2014 09:53

Got up at 6.30 to do the shred pre-work Mara, I was definitely with Anita after a few weeks off but feel good for doing it now. You can get it on you-tube QueenC.

Sorry about the house Turq but you do have to be sure. Good work on the declutter.

Liberty it was the one Belinda linked - I knew I'd seen it on one of the blogs. It's a bargain £25.99 now so go for it!

The actual wedding reception is on a farm so think it will not be great for heels anywhere - thought the Trinas would be good as they are low and square so don't sink and I can walk miles. But maybe it's a good excuse to buy the R&B pointy Mary-Janes that I've been eyeing up for months

libertychick · 28/07/2014 10:57

Ohhhh they are gorgeous stokey. I'd jump at a decent excuse to buy them!

So we had a total downpour in my little cornet of London. Sheds are flooded, all sorts of crap has come out of the gutters into the deck and their us a worrying damp smell in the kitchen and the sink is taking an age to empty. Not good. I have escaped to the local cafe with DD while DH starts sorting it all out.

libertychick · 28/07/2014 11:02

The shame at all those typos. I need a lesson in smartphone use....
