Continuing. From here some of us may have jetted off to far flung foreign parts, but we're still friendly, fabulous even in the heat wave and full of frivolous fashion talk. Come and join us Smile

Love those Betty
Annie sorry - I missed that bit - hope things improve for you soon. Flowers

LinusDKD · 07/08/2014 19:43

mara great coat! Gorgeous colour.

Shame about the boots shop! They really looked like they'd be perfect for you.

Flowers for you annie, I hope things get better soon.

I wore my Hush breton dress today and I still love it. It is such an easy dress to wear and I always get complimented when I wear it.

Will link some shoes DM bought recently. Not sure I like them but she loves them.

LinusDKD · 07/08/2014 19:50

choos

I haven't seen them on but they look a bit stern to me.

shopafrolic · 07/08/2014 19:55

Hmm not keen on those Linus
Know what you mean about a breton dress - I love my Ganni red and cream one.

libertychick · 07/08/2014 21:05

I like your Mum's new shoes Linus - they would be great for work - perfect for the days when you have to look ultra professional but CBA with heels.

Hope all is ok Annie, we're always here so just drop in whenever you can, don't feel like you have to try and keep up with everything - it's impossible. Flowers

Shame about the boots Shop, and price differences between in store and on line give me the rage....

Drywhiteplease · 07/08/2014 22:11

Wow to MmeLinus tres chic....remind me of a pair I lusted after at R and B last year and these. Now, I like a pointy "stern" shoe Grin but there's pointy and then there's "I'm-going-to-stab-someone-with-my-footwear"pointy Grin.....
Nice purchases Blair and Shop
Nothing fashion related today......but dd and I are going for a pre holiday pedicure together tomorrow. Used to scoff at friends who did this, but sod it, dd isn't going to turn into a spoilt diva like her mum after one "special treat" give her the quick cheap one because she's only 13, I'll have the full works thanks

Meant to say earlier well done on the Outnet scores Mara, Blair and Stokey.

Dry pre holiday Mum and daughter pedis sounds like great fun! Enjoy.

Right, bed for me - 3 hours of Accounting for non finance managers done tonight t'was hard work, my little brain hurts now Smile

LinusDKD · 08/08/2014 09:50

Morning!

I popped into H&M again this morning to look for the teal skirt (no luck) and saw two lovely pencil skirts.

Unfortunately the colours are not for me but they were made of really thick stretchy material and could look great on some of you

skirt 1

Will have to look for the other again but couldn't find it online.

LinusDKD · 08/08/2014 09:53

Nope, still can't find it. It was a navy/cognac striped pencil skirt.

Oh and I love this

I know it looks like your granny's curtains but I love the colours. A bit like Delftware. Haven't seen it IRL though.

libertychick · 08/08/2014 10:42

I could see that leopard print skirt on one and amber.

Grey day in London. Am wearing my favourite Agnes B heart print shirt though which always makes me feel jolly!

Love Fridays :)

OneLittleLady · 08/08/2014 10:51

Love the leopard print skirt linus I have a similar one but mine is just black and grey. May have to go and have a look at it.

Dp will be here in half an hour so I may not be on much this weekend, or not as much as usual anyway. Hope everyone has lovely weekends Thanks

libertychick · 08/08/2014 11:05

Oh yay! Have a lovely weekend one and well done for getting through the first week :)

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 08/08/2014 11:13

That is pretty Linus. It looks a very similar shape/fabric to the teal one.

Annie Flowers

shop that is so annoying about the boots, the outnet are usually good with size info. They were so nice too.

Wore my Baukjen dress yesterday and am really pleased with it, it's like my new version of the Me+Em ruched dresses, which they don't seem to focus on anymore.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 08/08/2014 11:14

Have a lovely weekend with your DP One :)

AmberNectarine · 08/08/2014 12:17

Those boots are wicked betty - I have a couple of cowboy style - a white ankle length pair from Kurt Geiger, calf high Cobra society ones and most recently the red Toga Pullas - I love those styles.

libertychick · 08/08/2014 16:14

Shopping update...

Returned these - they are very nice but nude shoes look weird on me IMO I am 41, I have tried a nude pair of shoes every year for last 15 years or so, I should know by now

Got these instead - they are gorgeous. I very, very nearly bought them in black too.

libertychick · 08/08/2014 16:16

Oh, oh, oh (squeals and claps hands) Blair has started pinning wedding dresses Smile

Will have a proper look later....

Drywhiteplease · 08/08/2014 18:26

Oh great, I love a wedding dress fest...Blair you've cheered me up no end.Smile

Liberty nude shoes are apparently the holy grail but, like jeans, almost impossible to find the perfect pair. Think it's all to do with shade and skin tone or something. I love my nude ballet flats from R and B but nude courts just make me look mumsy. Like the burgundy suede a lot.

So pedis went well. BUT I'm such an idiot. I know gel nails don't work on me after 4 tries , and holidays feeling embarrassed at peeling nail colour so why, oh why did I let them try out a new gel varnish on me for free? Nice that it was free, and I went for a nude with sparkle because I heard Dd mutter to the beautician that I'd "never go for that" Grin but will kick myself if, after 3 days as usual, it starts coming off. You won't be surprised at all to hear that I CANT stand peeling/chipped nails Sad
Personal maintenance done......nails, toes, eyebrows and other bits and bobs. Fake tanned to within an inch if my life . I'm painting a fabulous picture aren't i?Grin

Evening all! Decided to have a mother and daughter day which was lovely but am exhausted! It was cool this morning so decided to wear my Ralph Lauren skinny jeans with a kaliko chiffon top. Plus a peplum jacket. I looked and felt great...till it warmed up!! It was so sticky!

So the big news of yesterday...I have carpets in the main bedrooms! At long last! Was so happy I could have slept on the floor :)

One, have a great weekend with your dp. When dh and I lived in different cities (pre-dcs) the first night back together was always fab!Wink

LinusDKD · 08/08/2014 19:06

Evening.

I liked quite a lot of your wedding dresses blair!

dry you sounds super organised as usual and your pampering day with DD sounds fab.

novice the weather is weird isn't it? This afternoon we had glorious sunshine and spent a couple of hours at the pool (not ours sadly enough) in 33 degrees and then it started raining and now it's cleared up again.

Love those shoes liberty! I had actually found my perfect nude shoes (J Choo at a discount) last summer but I had just bought my Nano in NY and the Colts so I didn't buy them. No other pair has ever come close.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 08/08/2014 19:13

My wedding dress board is actually a couple of years old Blush but now that we have the venue pretty much sorted (and I've booked the registry office!) it's next on my list. I have 8 months and pinning down my mum and 2 sisters to come shopping with me is going to be hard. Might end up having to just take one of my sisters with me for a big trying on session.

And I need it to be soon, because I haven't seen any dresses that I love odd for me when clothes shopping, usually all it takes is a skim of NAP website so I need to actually try some on before I go mad from looking online Grin

Anyone got any suggestions of where to go to get a good range of styles? (Most of you know roughly where I am!) I think Berketex was mentioned, but I looked at their site and they seem to have 80% strapless and I don't think I want strapless.

:)

Drywhiteplease · 08/08/2014 19:23

Massive thunder storm here, just had power cut. Pouring. Going to open a bottle of wine I think. Scary. Sad

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 08/08/2014 19:33

Wine makes everything better Dry! No storms here yet, just lots of rain. We are watching the hairy bikers in japan and have ordered a japanese takeaway Grin

LinusDKD · 08/08/2014 19:39

Wine here as well dry! Grin

Hello, I'm back home, utterly exhausted from long drive home but had a fab time. Haven't got the energy to look through all the chat and links so shall just pick up from here.
