Gorgeous day here. Spent the morning drinking coffee and eating cake with a friend outside a lovely little cafe. Was wearing this fabulously cool dress in peach. It is now in the washing machine having spilt coffee down it!! Hope it comes out ok.

Blair how exciting looking at venues. When will you get the ring?
Dry how is the tooth ache?
Novice love those Ann Taylor shorts
Shop any news on Shopdog?
One sounds like you have worked really hard to get to the place you now are, am sure you will be fine. Don't be so hard on yourself.
Marsha pale blue trio sounds lovely - I love blues. However, you should get the colour you love and will want to use.

Am interested in what people would buy in the US. I am hoping to buy a bag, maybe Coach or Kate Spade and looking out for Sam Edelman Ollie's for starters.

Fedupnagging · 16/07/2014 15:38

Oops, meant to say to Santa good luck with the move and what lovely friends you have. Can you join a book group or a toddler/PTA group? Not everyone's cup of tea but are good for making friends so long as they are not too cliquey.

OneLittleLady · 16/07/2014 15:45

Thank you everyone. it really does mean a lot to me to have so much support from you lovelys. I think what's bothering me most is how quickly everything's changed. I feel like I've barely had chance to catch a breath! Am planning some decorating work and things so it all feels like it's mine, IYSWIM? I know Dp will be back often and I will be visiting him just as much, I just worry I won't be comfortable mostly just having myself as company if that makes any sense?

QueenCardigan · 16/07/2014 16:28

one you won't just have yourself as company. You'll have us lot holding your hand too. I know what you mean though. I'd get lonely if dh was away.

santa hugs to you. Moving is never easy but you just have to throw yourself into everything you can. Are there any local internet groups like mumsnet local that you can make friends through. When we relocated I had blind play dates. Scary but I had to do domething to meet people.

liberty Flowers for the scarf. Love it and will get lots of wear from it. Although little dd likes the sparkly bits and is wearing it at the moment! Thank you.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 16/07/2014 16:35

One have you ever had just yourself as company before? Some people are more suited to it than others. I love it but can imagine it's a bit scary if you haven't. You'll be fine though, as you say you'll still be seeing your DP lots and you'll find lots of ways to fill your time, I'm sure.

shop glad to hear the shopdog update and hope she keeps getting better.

Marsha I noticed you didn't have your orange Trio at the MU but the bag you had was pale blue and really suited you. If you need a bag and can't think of another one you like more then you should go for it.

santa when's the actual move? How nice of your friends :) am sure you'll meet lots of new people, hopefully your new neighbours will be potential friends.

Working in the garden sounds lovely novice. Don't think I'd get much work done today though, it's too nice!

fedup earliest friday I think...

OneLittleLady · 16/07/2014 16:37

Blair I've never actually lived alone before, always with someone/s else. I think it's going to take me a while to adjust if I'm honest

Liberty I tried both pairs of trousers on, interestingly, the size 12 linen ones fit better than the esprit 16s. I think though, half a stone off and both will be perfect

Stokey · 16/07/2014 16:40

Nice dress Fedup

Very exciting looking at wedding venues Blair although can be eye-wateringly expensive. One of my friends got married in Hampton Court which I think is your neck of the woods? Very lovely. What kind of thing are you looking at?

Drywhiteplease · 16/07/2014 16:43

OMG.....I've just been to the dentist. He's given me antibiotics, I've stocked up on super strength pain killers and more Corsodyl.the right side of my face from jaw to eye feels as if it's going to explode. I sobbed in front of my kids last night pathetic. Raced home and have just ripped packets open. So should feel great in approx half an hour. builder recommends whiskey, can't stand the stuff, but might resort just feel like going to bed with my Jimmies and cancelling the rest of the day.

Marsha when's your birthday? Sounds exciting.

Fedupnagging · 16/07/2014 17:27

A wedding at Hampton Court, how lovely. That has just reminded me, we went to a wedding at Kew Gardens. Was lovely. Blair if you get married at Kew, we could all hide behind an aspidistra and watch from afar!

Sorry you are in so much pain Dry. Hope the antib's work.

Think I need a few new vest tops and at least one extra pair of crops for my holiday - have had a look in AR, BR and the Outnet etc but nothing I like or if I do, not my size, or is polyester (looking at you in particular AR and BR) I really don't suit racer back tops of which there seem to be many this year.

shopafrolic · 16/07/2014 17:34

Dry never EVER EVER drink with dentist prescribed antibiotics - I could tell you a horror story about vomiting all the way home on a night bus but my DS is eating Grin

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 16/07/2014 17:34

Oh dry sounds awful! I hope the painkillers are working...

One I can see why you're worrying then but you will be fine once you get used to it. It's lovely just being able to do what you want to do :)

Stokey yes am not too far from HC. Am looking at everything really, there are so many lovely ones round here and I have a shortlist which includes all sorts of places. It's hard though as we aren't going to have a big do, only about 70 in the day, which means a lot of places are out as they cater for huge groups and often have a minimum guest requirement on a Saturday too. Including HC :)
I won't be too specific about the places as I'm sure I will eventually put the date on here, but you'll probably have to gag me with a prosecco cork to get me to stop waffling on at the next MU Wink

LinusDKD · 16/07/2014 19:17

Sorry for not catching up with everything but things are a bit hectic here at the moment.

mara I do the 5:2 on full days, usually Monday and Wednesday as the Dc are at nursery those days which makes it easier for me not to stuff myself with their leftovers

I start from the moment I wake up until the next morning and if I haven't been able to do my usual days (dinnerparty, birthday etc) I just do it the next day.

shop glad to hear that Shopdog is feeling a bit better.

dry I hope the painkillers are kicking in by now.

marsha a lightblue Trio would be lovely or how about a orange Nano? You saw at the MU how much stuff I can get into mine.

santa (((hugs))) for you! I know how stressful moving abroad can be and it's not easy to make new friends but it's true, it's going to be easier via the children's school and nursery. Have you checked out if they have some kind of expat forum for the place you are going to?

one I can understand you are anxious about your DP moving to London but you are a strong woman and time will fly!

Sorry if I've forgotten anyone!

Turquoiseblue · 16/07/2014 19:25

Hope you feel better dry. (Don't drink tho) dental pain is horrible. I know.

Marsha i was admiring a black python trio recently - it was really lovely IMHO. Though I know it might not be for everyone.
Fed up hope you get the coffee stain out.

Santa, enjoy your night out this weekend. Do you know anyone already where good re moving to? I know what you mean about it being a bit daunting. I m sure you ll do it fine though.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 16/07/2014 19:41

My ring is here! I think after I ruined the big proposal, DP wanted something to be a surprise, so he rang the jewellers last week and told them not to ring me when it was ready. Then today he went to pick it up at lunchtime and when we got home asked me on one knee. :)

I have a pic but I've got to get it onto my laptop somehow...!

LinusDKD · 16/07/2014 20:01

Oooh piccies please blair!!!

QueenCardigan · 16/07/2014 20:16

Yay blair Wine

dry if you're on metronidazole DO NOT DRINK. Any other antibiotics is fine Grin

bettykt · 16/07/2014 20:20

Aw what a lovely surprise Blair can't wait to see a picture

Santa I've moved as a SAHM and met a lovely friend, via the internet, with a similar family set up to mine, we hit it off immediately and she is a really good friend now. I'm slowly getting to know some of the mums at dc school too and have been invited to social evenings with them. You come across as really friendly and humorous, I'm sure you'll make friends quickly. You have lovely friends throwing you a party.

BrandyAlexander · 16/07/2014 20:21

Oooh piccies! piccies! piccies Blair!

One, I can understand your anxiousness but you have shown a lot of strength over the last year, so I have faith.

Dry you poor poor thing. Flowers

Shop really hope you can go away babe.

Sleep, so sorry, I need to send you money! Will do tonight. I find those card reader things so painful. Changing banks = nightmare. Just a nightmare. I have changed wealth managers at the same time. I expect to never see my money again. Oh and ING have now become Barclays and so everything has changed there too. I don't too change!

For once my very tired dcs have gone to bed (the buggers will wake up now just to show me up!) but it was lovely working in the garden while they played in the paddling pool with the hose. Happy days. And this is why we don't do a/w too early!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 16/07/2014 20:33

Here goes! I absolutely love it. Can't stop looking!

Just had a Chinese takeaway treat from local posh restaurant and opened (and nearly finished!) the champagne we were sent. Feeling a bit wooooooo :)

LinusDKD · 16/07/2014 20:36

Gorgeous! Very similar to mine but mine's white gold.

You will keep looking at it for a long time, enjoy admiring it!

OneLittleLady · 16/07/2014 21:17

Lovely Blair you have lovely nails btw

maradesbois · 16/07/2014 21:23

Lovely, blair. It looks perfect. You really suit yellow gold.

Drywhiteplease · 16/07/2014 21:30

Blair it's beautiful (as are your nails btw) so happy for you. Bet it's all sparkly.Smile

Paramol is unbelievable stuff. I think everyone should have it in their medicine cupboard for big emergencies not hangovers 20mins after taking and pain is gone Grin.....also had to have rum and raisin ice cream to soothe the pain Wink am feeling human again! And I wouldn't drink with penicillin, need it to work!!!!

Marsha you love the Trio, you know it works for you, why not replace?

I saw this dress in a shop window today. Love the style I'm a sucker for a puff sleeve, Ozzie Clark throw back not the colour or £££ it's don't in navy. Nice.

BrandyAlexander · 16/07/2014 21:45

Hello dry you sound much cheerier!

Blair love love love it! But then again you knew I would Grin. The band looks so shiny as well! I normally take mine for cleaning at this time of the year so I can pretend I am getting it new all over again

Have i told my watch story yet? I put the washing machine on, on Monday night, only to let out a yelp about 5 minutes later, as I realised the source of the clink, clink I could hear knocking agains the machine door, was my watch. Dh comes rushing down to see what's the matter then when I tell him that my Next watch is whooshing round the machine, he says "Oh thank goodness, I thought it was your Gucci watch or something". I.tried.not.to.move.a.muscle. I was so crapping myself that his next sentence was going to be "And where is that by the way?". I need to find that replacement!!!

Drywhiteplease · 16/07/2014 21:51

Oh Novice you are so funny....thanks goodness you've got a lot of bling......washing machines, hotel bedrooms, gymGrin.....I did think that Gucci I linked was a bit plain for you thoughWink
