This is the Bentley, QueenC - the lace is the Zarita - also lovely but a bit girly for me.

Stokey · 08/07/2014 20:14

Love the bentley dress Amber
The Ibiza weekend was a friend's 40th QueenC but mine is tomorrow with my party on Saturday. We had booked to go to Sketch for dinner but have cancelled as I need more rest!
I bought this dress today which I may wear if I don't do my red one. It's very nice on and had an extra 20% off.

shopafrolic · 08/07/2014 20:20

Aaaaaa Stokey have an awesome birthday.

I'm reading Stylist (best magazine ever). Great feature on jeans but also an interview with Caitlin Moran. She said "there's an interesting study that said when you're online, your inhibitions and self-consciousness is lowered to exactly the same point as if you'd had two pints. Basically, the entire internet is a bit pissed and looking for a fight. So the key thing is don't be a dick and remember you're slightly pissed."
Words to live by on Mumsnet I feel!

Grin shop, very true!

I love the Bentley dress. Unfortunately I owned it for a year before I wore it but it looked great. But I have only worn it once! I did buy it for work but decided it was too sexy for work.

Thanks Annie and Turquoise. Annie, I am not a sahm (others are on the thread though). Dh and I both work and both in similar roles. He works in an environment which is stressful and all consuming. People working till 3am etc. I don't and am better able to control my time. End result he usually doesn't get home for bedtime and I do. So if the dcs play me up then the pleasure is all mineHmm

AmberNectarine · 08/07/2014 21:04

I have a bright green Bentley already but it is too big now!

Drywhiteplease · 08/07/2014 21:12

oH Stokey you'll look amazing in that dress, and happy birthday

QueenCardigan · 08/07/2014 21:18

Much more you amber. You're going to have to stop running and eat more cake otherwise you'll have nothing but fab shoes to wear.

So true shop.

Secretsquirrel13 · 08/07/2014 21:21

Stokey have a happy 40th tomorrow.
Ordered Grey#q=Clea&start=1 this earlier and mulled over a purchase of a much larger item, just been back to order and they're all gone. Confused Will wait a while for returns before linking.
Glad you all enjoyed the meet up, sounded great fun.
Started race training again today after a 3 week break and it was so so difficult to maintain the pace, aching tonight.

I think the DvF dress I bought years ago in Singapore is a Bentley but I'm not sure. It is lovely but I think it will be too be for me now as well.

Might try it on tomorrow.

Lovely dress stokey.

shopafrolic · 08/07/2014 21:25

What do you think of Kirsten's new hair Amber?

OP posts:
AmberNectarine · 08/07/2014 21:42

I think she looks fab!!

LinusDKD · 08/07/2014 21:47

I just had a look at all her halrstyles over the years in that link and love most of them. She is ridiculously beautiful though so would suit most styles and colours.

And her make-up! I would love to have mine done by her make-up artist.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 08/07/2014 22:02

Great dress Stokey, sorry you're still knackered though! Worth it I bet.

Dry planning an outfit for an agricultural show demonstrates your dedication to the Vogue cause. Wink

Anyone got size 40 feet? Acne boots need snapping up for A/W.

santamarianovella · 08/07/2014 22:10

A quick wave to all,
amber so glad you chose the DVF Bentley, it suits you, will you wear it with the fab wang shoes?

stokey your weekend sounds fab,

And a big welcome to mother

libertychick · 08/07/2014 22:12

SecretSquirrel thanks for linking the Whistles Clea jumper - I have just ordered it and I couldn't resist this one either. Love a decent sale!

Lovely dress Stokey, hope you have a fantastic day tomorrow.

AmberNectarine · 08/07/2014 22:14

santa I will, and probably my zebra print jimmy Choo clutch. I just hope it fits!!

Drywhiteplease · 08/07/2014 22:21

Always Blair.... I'm obsessed Grin

Secretsquirrel13 · 08/07/2014 22:22

Shop your Jimmy Choo bikers are also still in my head, quite like the slightly longer ones too.
Having a real first world dilemma- do I splurge on a few a/w items such as the bikers (also liked decam's r&b ones), the big unmentioned item I wanted from whistles and a nice top or two OR save for a (long) while for a vintage big label bag? I cannot decide- what's the MNV consensus?

shopafrolic · 08/07/2014 22:36

Secret the Choo bikers would have been a huge splurge for me so I say splurge. But then vintage bags and toddlers don't mix........

OP posts:
libertychick · 08/07/2014 22:55

Secret I'd want the bikers and a few other things rather than a bag but then I'm not really a bag person.

BrandyAlexander · 08/07/2014 22:58

My Swarovski order arrived todaySmile have been sat in bed trying them all!

The rings: simple but beautiful

love love love this purple ring but this version doesn't work.

a bit glam!

this Shourouk ring is lovely.

Verdict on the bangles/bracelets:

love this bangle which is very similar to Elizabeth Cole ones I own but a lot cheaper.

love this Shourouk bracelet and pinterest.com/pin/380202393515587916/

santamarianovella · 08/07/2014 23:23

Wow! novice think they are all great,

secret I agree with liberty get the bikers and other AW stuff, justdon't buy little pieces that don't do much favor or else I will go ballistic on you
And a word of caution I love love bags, but would be very ,very careful buying vintage ones,if the bag is what I think it is,then definitely don't buy vintage, no huge price difference and if you find a little cheaper one it is mostly certainly in bad shape,

Turquoiseblue · 08/07/2014 23:35

Lost earlier post.
Like the sound of liberty s outfit today.
Lots of bling novice. Grin
Am loving gap broken in straight khakis - on sale for anyone who s looking.
Earlier post to say - delighted everyone enjoyed MU, and lovely to hear all the round ups, am picturing all the fun that was had. Hadn't meant previous post in negative way.
Ok ...bed..... Sleep needed. Have gotten sucked into World Cup following. At least it s getting interesting as it moved towards finals.

LinusDKD · 09/07/2014 07:42

Morning!

Horrible weather again so I'm wearing my lovely bikers with the black TS Leigh jeans I bought in London last weekend and a J Crew chambray shirt.

Am shocked by something I saw at DD's nursery this morning. Whilst I was taking off DD's coat and boots in the cloakroom another mother 'dropped off' her DD but the way she did it was shocking.

She opened the sliding doors to the nursery bit, put her DD inside and closed the doors again without saying a word. Of course the poor child started crying immediately (she must have been about two years old) but the mum walked past me in the cloakroom and out the building.

I was so stunned that I thought I must have been wrong in what I saw but when I took DD in the nursery the little girl was being comforted by a nursery nurse.

When I asked her if I what I had seen did actually happen she and a colleague were totally shocked and said yes, the mum just 'threw in' her child and left.

I know parents are rushed in the morning but it only takes a minute to say goodmorning to the nursery nurses, tell them about your DC (slept well, already had breakfast at home so doesn't need to eat at the nursery, etc) and then give your DC a kiss and a cuddle before saying goodbye.

Sorry this is a bit long but I am still in shock.
