Just read this tip on another thread but it deserves it's very own threadGrin

Google Wayne Goss make up artist, he's my new crush and tells you to moisturise, prime, powder THEN foundation!Shock

Just tried it and it works a treat , didn't even need concealer! Makes perfect sense as it fills pores and I'd a key for the foundation!

You can use mineral foundation too and then liquid foundation.

He also does a video about a tip for eye liner that's worth watching.

I tried it today with Vichy Dermablend and it was terrible, it slid off my skin within a few hours !

Hmmmm I quiet like it, it seems to make my face seen a lot smoother and softer. I used bare minerals touch up veil and no 7 stay perfect. I felt I had to put a bit of powder in top but I like ALOT of coverage on my horrible red nose!!! I'll defo be buying some loose and see if it's even better Grin

Have you SEEN the size of his make up.collection? I've been watching him for years and he's mentioned before he actually does have OCD. He's a lovely bloke, and only recently come out as gay after being bullied for it, he'd be the last person to purposefully hurt someone. Honestly, I lose track of what term is most appropriate I'm sure that was the case with him. I also think I read somewhere he has aspergers too.

I tried it and liked it. I wasn't expecting it to work but it did. I used a light loose powder (Jurlique) and then a CC cream (Sleek).

I wonder if the trick is to use it with a fairly creamy foundation? A few people have said it didn't work with things like Revlon Colourstay and I'm wondering if that's because of whatever the ingredients in Revlon CS are that practically super glue it to your skin? I suspect the same is true of Vichy Dermablend. So maybe it only works with certain (creamy) types of foundation/CC/BB creams?

Well I tried it yesterday and it did work. I thought I looked very 'made up' so I wouldn't wear it during the day but for a party or club I think it would be good as it stayed on really well! Have been watching his tutorials today, so many great tips! Never thought I'd learn something new about make up from a guy...

I've watched loads of his tutorials now, I actually think he's a lovely man, very humble, down to earth and loves women. I've definitely learnt a few tricks from him. :)

Bloody hell. How I scoffed when I read this. BOLLOCKS, I thought.

It's amazing. Tried it today with max factor translucent loose powder and some sort of Clinique foundation and I was slack-jawed with shock. Looks fab, better and more natural looking coverage and stays on all bloody day.

I used to watch Goss a fair bit and had a lot of time for him. After a while though I have to admit, it became clear what a fraud he is in many respects. I also have always found that there seems to be some kind of underlying anger that he has which I find offputting.

He is not a make-up artist at all. His youtube channel is his job and where he makes his living from.

The size of his make-up collection is just incredible. However if you look at it all it's nearly all totally unused and he generally only has it as he's a hoarder and companies send him a lot of stuff for free to review. He plays with make-up on himself, and his friends and that's about it. It's an awful waste really.

He spent many years on youtube being very coy about his sexuality. I don't care if he's gay, straight or whatever, but it was clear for a long time that he refrained from saying outright he was gay due to the fact that so many women on his channel wet their pants over him in the comments, and that sat badly with me, as does the "special needs" comment.

Every video on his channel is usually quite misleading and the title MUST ALWAYS BE IN SHOUTING CAPS! I find this really annoying.
The thumbnails he uses to gain viewers on his videos are not his own either. I have often been caught out with him posting a picture of a beautiful eye make-up look only to find that isn't his picture or the end result at all.

His actual application of make-up is very very shoddy. He has admitted before though that he was never the best and he has had to try really hard to get good at what he does, and I do give him credit for that. Smile
His looks and tips are nearly all straight out of his Rae Morris Beauty books. Word for word. He seems to devour these books and just goes round in circles repeating the same tips and taking credit for the ideas.

He has been proven to be dishonest on man occasions. For example he was questioned about if he actually bought all the charlotte tilbury cosmetics with his own money. He said he did and then posted a picture on his instagram of a very badly photoshopped receipt.

Sorry for the rant. I know it seems so negative and I hate that. He strikes me as a rather sad and lonely man with quite a few issues that he struggles with. I'm sure he's a lovely guy really though. Hmm

I use talc Blush as a light powder to absorb excess oil, do you think it would still work??

Honestly I do feel really bad ranting like that, but I do find him just very misleading and dishonest. I'm really sorry but that's just how I feel. Blush No need for the wtaf comments just because you like him either. It doesn't make what I've said untrue sadly.
I don't know him personally at all either. It's not some kind of personal vendetta, I just find it frustrating seeing how many women act like he's a major make-up guru, when quite frankly he isn't. Most of his tips are going to leave you looking like a drag queen. Great if that's the look you like. Not so much if you aren't trying for that.
I don't feel that anything I've written is not the truth. Like I say I'm sure they're lovely people in real life, but my opinion on his knowledge and ethics is very low I admit.

I've just tried it for fun- I don't usually wear more than a tinted moisturiser- and I'm amazed to say that it works! If you want to look like you work on a department store concession, anyway Grin. Cool tip though if you want that very "done" look. I am genuinely surprised.

I actually find it makes me look less 'done up' maybe using less is the key for those who are getting the caked look. It makes my skin look covered but more like me than actually covered in make up if that makes sense!!!

I'm pretty certain he is a makeup artist! He's talked about jobs before and he's open about the fact that he doesn't do editorial but that doesn't mean he's not an MUA. I've never done editorial but I've done plenty of weddings, photo shoots and theatrical stuff-just because I've not had a photo in Vogue or done catwalk stuff doesn't mean I'm not a MUA. It means I'm not as good as Pat McGrath (oh how I wish I was!) but it doesn't mean I'm not a pro!

Cosykitty and everyone else who's not mentioned it - why is it a shame he's gay? That's a really ignorant comment to make!

Antoinette-as a professional do you rate Mac long wear Concealer, the stuff in the little bottle for covering redness on cheeks? I hate concealers generally as they seem to be for under eyes and reflective, or they don't blend. Currently use bare minerals powder concealer but the Mac has amazing reviewsSmile
