All the best to dd for her big trip Rose. Hope her journey goes to plan.

I have spotted super value flights to New York , soooo temptedShock

Stropperella · 07/06/2014 20:05

Rosebag, I've just send you a friend request on FB.
We've just had a family dance-off. I think the dog won. Dh's gig seemed to go well this afternoon, despite a relative lack of practice (new band).

NUFC69 · 07/06/2014 20:12

Crem, go for it (and I will come with you). I just love New York and would go again like a shot. I would like to see the new 9/11 museum.

Thanks so much, all. Am turning in now. Got to be up at 3 am. Over and out.

SheherazadeSchadenfreude · 07/06/2014 21:19

Hope she has a lovely time, Rose. DD2 is off to Texas on her own this summer...

Couldn't do those sandals - not keen on ankle straps...

Cremo hope dd has a fab time
Rosebag good luck to your dd too...

Here ds has gone off to a friend for a sleepover - think he's on the floor...

Rosebag · 08/06/2014 05:22

Trench coats would work on you Rudy, but I'm too short and dumpy so look all wrong on me!

bigTillyMint · 08/06/2014 08:26

I like trench coats, Rudy!

Had a lovely evening with friends last night and woke up to sun and no hangover, yetSmile

motherinferior · 08/06/2014 08:32

Isn't it glorious?

Blackduck · 08/06/2014 08:35

Cloudy here :(
But did get an unexpected meal out sans ds last night which was joy nice :)

Weather like October hereAngry
Windy and showery . Not even reliable enough to put a wash on the line.
I'm with bd on the trench coats. They look like lab coats on me.
I can however see BTM and Rudy looking super smart in one.

It is the great t-shirt clearout today . Dd has amassed about 100 tshirts. I have offered to make a quilt out of some of them for uni. ( slightly regretting this rather ambitious project nowBlush) browsing Pinterest for instructions.

I am wearing shorts (the sort that are really kneelength jeans).Grin

Charity shop haul yesterday netted no clothes but did pick up little bottles of posh bath oil for a quid including Jo Malone lime basil & mandarin so am seeing if I can bear it that way.

In a charming post-Crepey manner DD1 is out 'shopping' with the younger Schadenfreulein. If you see two early teens with long curly hair, duck and run for it.Grin

bigTillyMint · 08/06/2014 10:42

Cremo, my DM was/is a quilting expert and I have done some in my youth - won't the Tshirts be a bit, erm, stretchy?!

Patterned version, Rudy? Where? Linky please!

cremolafoam · 08/06/2014 10:56

I think you use iron on interfacing to stabilise the stretchiness.Grin

SheherazadeSchadenfreude · 08/06/2014 11:08

Yes, the elder Inferiorette and the younger Schadenfraulein are Covent Garden bound. Poor Covent Garden. Grin

DD2 was complaining to her friend in Texas about the heat here, yesterday, saying that it was 22 degrees (on Skype). Her friend said "Honey, if yo cain't cope with 22 degrees, yo sho aint gonna cope with the Tayerxas heat this summah!" They have a pool. She'll be fine.

Bugger Grandma from Giles - I have just been on phone to ticketing agency sounding like Indian Aunty. V scary. Peremptory "hah"s peppered my conversation. Like Jewish auntie but with fried snacks.

bigTillyMint · 08/06/2014 11:26

Ah yes, that would helpGrin Maybe you can switch to a cushion cover if it all gets too much!

MI, I am also wearing shorts!

Covent Garden won't know what has hit them!

DD is in her room moaning about having to revise for Chemistry and prepare for a History CA. I don't feel that sympathetic as she did have a friend sleep over last night...
DH and DS are at footy - sadly only watching the tournament as DS's toe was mashed-up yet more by him playing in a school match on FridayHmm and I am off into the gardenSmile

Blackduck · 08/06/2014 11:35

I have made banana loaf - ds still at friends (she is the youngest of five and he dropped back briefly this morning all Shock at how rude they are to each other :) )

It is not warm or sunny enough for shorts here.......

MI Grin at Indian aunts.

Dp packing for Dublin.

SheherazadeSchadenfreude · 08/06/2014 11:40

Jewish Aunties pinch your cheeks, tell you you look blech and then offer you food. Lots of it. And then more food.

OP posts:
cremolafoam · 08/06/2014 11:45

Shock @ shorts. Have lighted the fire here .
Grin @ jewish auntie with fried goods.

I have made the jam store cupboard cake and am about to start a war of attrition with dh to get him to take me out to dinner tonight while dd is on her date Grin I will require restaurant food after cutting out all these ruddy tshirt squares.
