Yep MI it just goes on getting better. With questions like 'how will you handle being disliked' (yes really).

Rosebag · 07/06/2014 10:58

MI no email received as yet. Re send?
Sorry to all who have work angst. It makes one very preoccupied, doesn't it? Maybe we should take a leaf out of Stropps book and look for pastures new. Life really is too short, whoever said that..you're so right.
herbs so glad the school are supportive. I did find however that nothing changed until the staff actually spoke to the parents if the name callers. Ah well, your little man will survive...and be all the stronger in the future. Another hug to both of yous.

motherinferior · 07/06/2014 11:03

So tempting to reply to that one with 'Well, I'm not sure - how do you cope?' isn't it, BD?

Rosebag, could you re-email me so I know I've got the right address.

Am locked in combat with ticketing agency which keeps making out my e-tickets in the name of the friend who booked them (she is much less whiffly than I am so said "I'll get on with it, you pay me back"). Thank heavens we have months to sort this out! Grin

Rosebag · 07/06/2014 11:23

mother have sent you a PM as I don't think I have your email

Blackduck · 07/06/2014 11:28

I think MI I probably would have and hang the consequences :)

bigTillyMint · 07/06/2014 12:08

Oh dear, BD, redundancies are not good.

I have been mucking out yet more stuff from DD's room. We have mountains of children's novels and teen novels to get rid of...

cremolafoam · 07/06/2014 12:36

Btm good luck with the clear out.
I have just persuaded dd that a Giant Clearout is imminent and she is for the first time quite amenable to the suggestion. We are planning a boot sale in early July to raise funds for the African trip. Everything Must Go!!

In the meantime dd has a first date tomorrow night( dinner and a gig) so much preparation is afoot chez Cremola. The young man is a Japanese/ Asian language scholar apparently. Grin Go dd.

cremolafoam · 07/06/2014 14:04

Wilbur I have been pondering raincoats since you mentioned it up thread and came across these:
plumo
avoca
Smile

bigTillyMint · 07/06/2014 14:20

Awww Cremo, how sweetSmile

QueenQueenie · 07/06/2014 15:43

I like both of those Crem - especially the pansy print Avoca one. Quite tempted myself...

Is this dating lark a first for dd? She didn't waste much time after finishing exams did she - impressive!
Where does one pick up such an exotic date?

Am off to the cinema to see the lovely Jarvis in the new Pulp film doc - the fabulously entitled "A Film About Life, Death and Supermarkets".

Blackduck · 07/06/2014 15:50

Oh likely rain macs.........

bigTillyMint · 07/06/2014 16:06

QQ what is this film of which you speak? I used to know Jarvis back in the Dark Ages, before they became famous - flat next door to other Pulp members, and shared the flat with a band members partner. Oh and another was on my courseSmile

Blackduck · 07/06/2014 16:32

Oh you name dropper you ;)

bigTillyMint · 07/06/2014 17:21

I'm sure he wouldn't remember me now!

originalpiratematerial · 07/06/2014 18:37

I'm impressed, BTM! Swoon!

Now crepeys, tell me - these sandals - are they nice or am I deluded? sandals

bigTillyMint · 07/06/2014 19:02

OPM, you have a great sense of style. I have just purchased themGrin

bigTillyMint · 07/06/2014 19:03

They do look nice on, and they are very comfy, which is always good for a crepey!

cremolafoam · 07/06/2014 19:12

Opm and BTM, you are both stylish obviously !!!!
I bought those shoes yesterday online!!!! How funny - crepey shoes!

QQ no dd is no stranger to dating but it's been a while. She has been courting this chap online, he is a friend of someone she knows from Writing Summer school last year. He's just secured an unconditional offer from Edinburgh so obv he is bright and desire able to dd as a result of the Scottish uni thing too.

We are on outfit 23 at this stage. A haircut has been sorted. GrinGrin
Bless. She still has French to go, on 19th so all this is a bit previous.

Anyone seen Hatty: she's been absent for quite a whileWink

Rosebag · 07/06/2014 19:18

crem ah young love. He sounds hot. And those Avoca raincoats are lovely.
FAME btm !!!
OPM really lovely sandals. I was eyeing them up in Clarks myself the other day.
What a day...trying to get DD packed for long trip far away, but had to make an appearance at an AGM of a charity I teach for, in town. Tiring ...lots of ishooz and trouble at mill. Left with the mother of all headaches.
Outwardly calm about tomorrow, I think I'm more freaked by it than it appears. I've got such a nervous tummy...plus the headache. DD still in post 1D loved up haze and taking it all in her stride. Mummy completely strung out. Some comfort ladies.....

bigTillyMint · 07/06/2014 19:19

Cremo, that is sooo funnyGrin We can wear them with our crepey skirts!

Sounds like it could be a bit serious, Cremo. Fingers crossed all goes well for herSmile

Yes, now you mention it, I haven't seen Hatty for a while - do you know something?

bigTillyMint · 07/06/2014 19:21

Rose, she will have a great time, I betSmile It is so hard when they start taking those steps away from us and into adulthood (don't I know it!) - you need something to distract yourself with....

QueenQueenie · 07/06/2014 19:41

Pulp film was fab! It really is called "A Film about Love, Death and Supermarkets" BTM... Have a google and go and see it. I'd forgotten your Sheffield connections BTM and am very impressed by your closeness to Pulp in their heyday...

Have a (wo)manly pat Rosebag. How old is the adventuring dd? How far afield and for how long is she going off?
Ds1 finishing his ASs really has focused my mind on how soon he'll (hopefully) be off to University - it feels both real and unimaginable at the same time iykwim.

QueenQueenie · 07/06/2014 19:42

Oh and liking the sandals - not sure that ankle strap would do much for my trotter like calves though...

NUFC69 · 07/06/2014 19:49

Perhaps the sandals should be worn with the sequin skirt? Grin

I am absolutely knackered: but very impressed with myself as we did 22 miles up to Consett and back. The scenery was lovely, I was totally wrongly dressed (shorts, t shirt and thin gilet) and it poured on the way back.

Had a nice Italian meal and DGD (2 tomorrow) stood on the table and everyone sang Happy birthday to her. She was very impressed.

Good luck tomorrow, Rose. She will be fine.

Rosebag · 07/06/2014 19:55

Thank you Tilly. I know you're taking sense. I'm less confident about DD that I was with the boys. I have decided that although I am probably the last female in the English speaking world to read it, I will distract myself with 50 Shades. It's on my iPad...
Thanks also to *NU
