WAF, you could also be anaemic - being very tired is a symptom. Whatever it is, don't suffer at home, go to the GP and get properly checkedSmile

So who's OK for 27th June?

BTM
Herbs
Beachy
CV
BD
Lalsy (for at least a drink)
QQ (if she can abandon any uni visits that day!)

motherinferior · 06/06/2014 13:29

WAF, I wish I could help but tend to be similar!

herbaceous · 06/06/2014 13:29

I got two pairs of Demi Curves in TK Maxx. One skinny pair, which have a tendency to bag within 0.5 seconds of putting them on, and one straight pair which have the whiff of frump. I think go for the 'slim' leg!

Top tip re mobile numbers for dumped children...

herbaceous · 06/06/2014 13:32

Re tiredness, I have had a health epiphany re wheat. I was always very sceptical of people claiming food intolerances - thinking them feeble or attention-seeking - but since not eating much bread or pasta (in an attempt to lose weight) I've realised I don't get heartburn, gippy guts or headaches. And, I feel less tired. Might be worth a go...

motherinferior · 06/06/2014 13:33

Rent Rosebag's two to help out Grin? You can have DD1 but it's a long way to travel for her!

herbaceous · 06/06/2014 13:38

Rosebag's two, or QQ's are only a few stops down the tube line! I think 80% of parents will stay, so can divvy out supervisory duties of the dumpees.

As an alternative, I've enquired about hiring out the 'community room' of our local museum, which has lovely gardens, all enclosed. No-one's got back to me yet.

motherinferior · 06/06/2014 13:39

My experience of TKMaxx is like other people's experience of charity shops. I wander through feeling perplexed and finding nothing, while other people waltz out clutching charming garments half price or less.

bigTillyMint · 06/06/2014 13:44

MI, I know! My top tip is to get there just after they open, when there are less people about and the stuff is in very slightly better order.

Re diet, my cousin has stopped eating all wheat-based stuff (and beer Shock) and has lost a load of weight and feels much better. Not sure he was feeling tired, but I think he was feeling crappy.

Stropperella · 06/06/2014 13:46

MI, snap re: TKMaxx. Our nearest one is just gruesome and depressing, as far as I can see. Stuffed with ridiculous garments that surely no one in their right mind would ever wear and most departments simply look like a jumble sale.

cremolafoam · 06/06/2014 13:54

Poor you waf , you've got a lot going on so no wonder you are shattered. It could be so many things, but not getting refreshing sleep is the worst thing as it has a dreadful knock on effect on the rest of your day.
I'd be wanting thyroid checked , iron levels. Hormones and blood sugar done. Don't struggle on FGS - I speak from experience.
I am on lansoprasole without incident and find it much better than ranitidine. None of that metallic mouth taste and easy to take capsule.

Herbs you are game mrs! Agree with MI about containment issue . I wouldn't worry much about the weather but that's because of living in NI where it buckets on all occasions .Grin
Food wise I might buy a couple of large disposable BBQs and do hotdogs ( handing this over to dp obv) followed by a bit of cake.
Pirate party thoughts:
A Treasure hunt
A treasure chest piñata
some other doable ideas hereGrin

Rosebag · 06/06/2014 14:18

Grin DS1 and DS2 are running for the hills….

QueenQueenie · 06/06/2014 14:20

Pssst. I think Mrs S should be on meet up list (as she suggested it).

Blackduck · 06/06/2014 14:46

Stropps, I am only just upright but last night I was so beat I found walking the hound hard work. Only advantage is when I am this tired I don't eat., so maybe I'll lose weight....

WAF - low B12? I had this and was knackered all the time.....

herbaceous · 06/06/2014 14:56

Bah. Back to the drawing board. DS has declared himself 'too shy' for such an undertaking, and just wants a small party at home. Eight friends. Lordy. How to choose just 8? Noses out of joint all over shop.

bigTillyMint · 06/06/2014 15:05

Low B12 is VERY serious - a colleague was diagnosed with Pernicious Anaemia about a year ago and it is a really horrid thing to have. But not all low B12 = Pernicious Anaemia, of course!

So who's OK for 27th June?

BTM
Herbs
Beachy
CV
BD
MrsS
Lalsy (for at least a drink)
QQ (if she can abandon any uni visits that day!)

bigTillyMint · 06/06/2014 15:05

Too shy? Your DS, Herbs?Grin

Rosebag · 06/06/2014 15:18

WAF that's awful. Certainly the Docs for thyroid tests and full blood count. Long shot but could you have a long running urinary tract infection? That can sometimes cause crippling tiredness rather than obvious symptoms. And as a veteran of HRT, I would say that it took more than 2 months for the symptoms to improve, including sleep problems and lethargy. It sort of builds over time. Cutting down on wheat and carbs definitely helps. I do wish you well.

On a little note of optimism…I think I just aced the swimsuit trials and tribulations.
www.marksandspencer.com/colour-block-swimsuit/p/p22306961?colour=PurpleMix here
Not sure of the link will work, but its black with purple across the bodice. My usual size!!!!! and the knockers don't drop below the cups. I'm SO happy…I usually end up with Bravissimo ones but I keep getting trapped in them in the changing room…you need to be Houdini to get in and out of them. Oh happy day Smile
Soz if the link doesn't work.

Rosebag · 06/06/2014 15:18

oooh I aced the link as well...

bigTillyMint · 06/06/2014 15:22

Rose, which HRT are you on? And how long for? I have been on it for about 3 years IIRC and I think it is Prempack.

Swimsuit looks good. I have to wear padded ones!

BTM I'm on continuous combined HRT now…FemSeven Conti patches as I wanted to dispense with periods. But for a long time I was on Femapak 80 which was eventually discontinued.I had changed my GP in the interim and my current one is much more sympathetic to women needing HRT and willing to research the market for me, (partic as mine was due to an early meno). My previous GP was a nightmare of reluctance and panic mongering!

NUFC69 · 06/06/2014 15:54

Re TKMax, I find they really vary from place to place. The first two I went in I couldn't understand all the fuss, but since then I have been to two further stores and they are excellent.

wordassociationfootball · 06/06/2014 16:48

The TK Maxx key: Monday morning. All nice and tidy and empty.

Thank you all for words of wisdom on what ails me. Rosebag - am prone to UTI's I will add urine analysis to my list of neurotica. I had brief moment of awakeness couple of weeks ago swigging more ferraglobin that reccommended so might go back to that to get through the weekend. NUFC interesting about thyroid.

Had a wheat free lunch, thanks herbs.
Will power through a bit longer on HRT (slightly don't think it's necessary for me at moment but they kept offering it or ADs) Lalsy I had bloods a year ago. Remember platelets were low but don't remember doing anything about it.

Rudy - go for it. I CBA but have dream of wattly froggy free neck (wink BTM) froggy free everywhere come to think of it.

Herbs I would have obsessed about the weather in your shoes if I'd committed to park. October birthdays here but we have been know to do a pinata in a sunny garden. God I hate pinatas although do LOVE throwing kids parties. (Not Offering services Grin)

motherinferior · 06/06/2014 17:04

Oh ffs.

DP has just rung. He'll be back 7ish. He says. Probably closer to 8. I really don't feel very well and am just plodding on. I find this REALLY HARD. He's away tomorrow doing t'ai chi again. I have to sort out tomorrow, see previous whinges. I realise I have NOTHING to complain about compared with people who are genuine single parents, but I could do without this. I don't feel I have the 'right' to say look, I am finding this really hard and that I'm carrying too much. Not least because most of my going out is for fun, not work, and I'm going away later this year - but I don't feel well, really, and could really do with someone coming home and cooking supper etc.

NUFC69 · 06/06/2014 17:06

Well DH is back from seeing the consultant; things seem to have altered. Hiatus hernia is not bad enough to be causing the pain but they now think it might be a heart issue (DH has just told me that he has a murmur). Anyway he is going for tests to monitor heart whilst he's exercising. Interestingly one of the pills he has been taking (which he calls Dom Peridon!) has been withdrawn from use today because of possible problems with the heart. All a bit worrying.
