Hi, I hope no one minds me starting a new thread, I was about to post on the old one and then saw it was on 999 messages so I'm hoping I can get a link to this one on before it fills up so we don't get lost. Apologies if I've trodden on anyone's toes Blush

The previous thread is here

Who was hankering after the green Baukjen leather pencil skirt? Look at this for a third of the price. Looks lovely.

I have a grey blazer from last winter which is definitely too 'cold' for me so I bought a lovely forest green scarf from H and M to warm it up and 'Autumnise' it. Can't link as not on website but only £7.99 and works a treat!

Charitygirl1 · 10/10/2014 10:40

Hopefully - were you looking for more skate shoes.? There are some lovely yellow ones on asos

KittyB52 · 11/10/2014 15:47

I'm sneaking onto this thread, as I just had a HoC colour session, and was expecting to be 'some sort of Spring' (as I was a Spring in another colour system). I actually turned out to be tiny fanfare a Blue Autumn. And I actually saw how the colours suited me this time.

So I only need to change, ooh, everything in my wardrobe. Grin I am going to start with a couple of tops to go with work trousers and gradually replace stuff.

MarthaCostello · 11/10/2014 15:49

It's RahRahRasputin under a new name :)

I've ordered this Wallis coat, although it was £75 when I ordered it. I'm not sure about the colour, especially the buttons, but it's the best I've found so far and if everything else is fine, I can always change those.

I'm hopefully going to book a style day for the next few weeks as well.

MarthaCostello · 11/10/2014 15:50

Welcome KittyB :)

RockMummy · 11/10/2014 16:41

Thats a very nice coat. I can understand why you would like to change the buttons. Gold coloured or brown leather would look nice.
I saw a gorgeous orange boucle coat in M&S this morning. Not very versatile though but suited me very well.

Hope the link works as I have never done one before!

BabCNesbitt · 11/10/2014 17:28

I have a quick question for fellow Autumns. What do you wear with skirts in autumn/winter? Normally I'd go for black opaques but they're not very "Autumn"! But brown or green seem a bit too schoolmarmish. Any suggestions?

Charitygirl1 · 11/10/2014 17:44

Haha Bab - I knw what you mean about schoolmarmish, but I still wear brown, green, purple, and mustard (in a rib which helps I think). A good tip is John Lewis's own brand tights in 'teal' are actually a perfect Marine navy.

BabCNesbitt · 11/10/2014 19:04

Thanks for the tip, Charity - will have a look!

NuzzleandScratch · 11/10/2014 19:09

Can I join please?! Just been diagnosed as a warm, muted Autumn! It seems my current wardrobe is almost entirely wrong, so looking to gradually give it an overhaul. Weirdly, I've realised that about 10 years ago, I used to wear the 'right' colours, but have somehow moved away from that.

Found this gorgeous jacket online! Prob only in dreamland though:

Jigsaw seems to be a good shop for Autumns, where else would people recommend? Will have a proper read of the thread when I get home, so apologies if this has already been done

RockMummy · 11/10/2014 19:40

I think it's lovely, Nuzzled, especially as the collar is detachable.
Boden have some quite good autumn coloured stuff, as do H&M, Peacocks and M&S.

Charitygirl1 · 11/10/2014 22:02

I ordered that Joules jacket (or last years identical version) and sent it bak as I turned out to be majority polyester which for £200...no!

So today I bought this from Zara which is going to zhush up all manner of jackets plus looks nice just over a jumper at the moment.

Charitygirl1 · 11/10/2014 22:03

Obviously 'I' should be 'it'!

shortaris1 · 12/10/2014 08:36

Ooh that's nice charity. I love Zara but im not the right shape for their clothes!

NuzzleandScratch · 12/10/2014 15:03

Thanks Rockmummy, hadn't thought of H&M.

Good point about the fabric Charity, for £200 that's a bit of a cheek. That fur collar is lovely. Zara did seem to have some good autumn colours when I went past the other day, so will take a look.

NuzzleandScratch · 12/10/2014 21:21

Can any experienced Autumns explain to me about blues & greens? I understand the reds, oranges & yellows, but am struggling to understand which blues & greens are ok. I have teal & jade green in my wallet, but how do you know if a blue or green is cool or warm?

Hopefully · 12/10/2014 22:35

Nuzzle I always think of the autumn greens as having golden undertones, regardless of which green they are, rather than the yellow undertones of spring or blue undertones of summer/winter greens. To be honest, most autumns can push it a bit with green as it's such a very 'autumn' colour. If in doubt, stick to khaki and olive greens, as they will always be good, and steer clear of the grass greens until you feel more confident.

Charity I cannot wait to fit back into my drome leather leggings. They are by far the nicest garment in my wardrobe and actually have a great cost per wear.

Bab I tend to buy the darkest brown opaque tights I can find. i feel like a tit in any sort of 'fun' coloured tights, so stick with darkest brown, occasionally dark petrol navy if I can find it. Have been known to buy dark grey too, but it only really goes with navy, not with brown or green. I did buy some dark olive green ones once, but felt like I was dressing up as an elf.

KittyB52 · 12/10/2014 22:47

I have a question about Autumn make up. Is there a list of non-HoC make up which 'fits' with the seasons? I know there won't be an official one, but has anyone come across a list elsewhere? I would like to be able to buy some lipsticks from the high street stores, ideally ones with the Leaping Bunny logo (Superdrug etc.)

NuzzleandScratch · 12/10/2014 23:23

Kitty, I'm going for an eye & lip make up lesson this week with the lady who did my colours last week (not HOC), so may be able to answer that once I've been!

Hopefully · 13/10/2014 14:43

kitty I seem to remember coming across a list once. Maybe via the 12blueprints site (Google it!) Facebook group?

ToffeeWhirl · 13/10/2014 14:52

Phew, found my way back here again after managing to drop off the thread once more.

Have had a little shopping splurge at White Stuff this week. Am now waiting for delivery.

Have ordered this skirt, this teal cardigan and this green tee shirt. Am hoping the tee shirt is the right shade of green for an Autumn.

Since finding out I'm an Autumn, I seem to be buying a lot of green and teal because they tend to be easier to match than some of the other shades. I'm in danger of having an entirely green and teal wardrobe. (I'm the opposite of you, Nuzzle, as I find the reds and oranges harder to judge).

KittyB52 · 13/10/2014 15:16

Am interested to see how you get on, Nuzzle.

I have seen lists from the 12 Blueprints site, Hopefully, but they seemed to be for the Sci/Art Autumns, and I'm not sure how those translate to HoC seasons. I also remember that they were not from cruelty-free brands particularly...

ToffeeWhirl I like those items, and could also imagine me having a lot of green and teal in my wardrobe. Grin

Hopefully · 13/10/2014 16:08

toffee I bought nothing by khaki and red when I first had my colours done. Couldn't 'see' any other colours for aaaages.

12 blueprints: I've only seen a handful of wallets, but IMO warm/true autumn corresponds roughly to autumn leaf in HoC, soft autumn is soft autumn, deep autumn is similar to blue autumn, but goes deeper/cooler/darker than HoC. Oddly there isn't really an equivalent for vibrant autumn, I don't think.
